The number that showed up on the caller ID was: 1 800 734 0238  The person on the phone prompty stated that the line could be recorded, it was a super short statement but it was the VERY first thing he said.  Typically such calls are in fact recorded for their records.  He said he was looking for ###### and asked if I was that person.  I told the caller to identify himself and the company he was with.   He refused and asked to speak with ######.   I stopped him mid sentence and reminded him of the national caller identy laws, and again told him to identify himself or be in breech of the law.   He said he was Justin Davis (or Davies, he never clarified that) but he absolutely refused to say who he was working for.    It sounded like he was calling from a personal office, there was no background noise on his end to be heard.  I asked why he would call MY number to look for ###### and he said that #######'s number was "associated with mine.  I have had this number for, for this address, for almost 10 years.  There has never been anyone here with the name that Justin was looking for.   Ever.  

I instructed him to tell me who he is working for, to comply with national caller ID laws once more.   I used his first name, calling him Justin, and he got instantly rude and belligerent, almost abusive.  He did not swear or cuss however.  He attempted to dominate the call by telling me how I was to address him --I refused, and persisted in calling him by the first name he gave me - Justin.

I instructed Justin to take my number off of his calling list, to not contact anyone he thinks is associated with this number, and to not call again.   He claimed that he was not a telemarketer and that those laws do not apply.  He was clearly wrong, and I told him again to do what I said.  He refused.     At this point, since he was still on the line and obviously not giving up I raised my voice to repeat the instructions I had just gave him.  I gave him two additional options:  end the call or I would hang up.  He persisted in asking to speak with ######  and so at that point I ended the call with one more demand to remove my number and  do not call again.
