This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

they called me to tell me there was a claim against me and wanted me to give them my current address and employment information. I told them to meet me at the police station. They hang up. My friend called them back and threated them with attorney general and consumer protection legal department investigating their claims.  We'll see if it will stop them. DO NOT GIVE your personal information. If there is a claim against you, they have to prove it and you don't want to help them by giving them your updated info.

No one else reading this page can ''have them stop'' anything on your behalf. It's your phone number, and your job to protect it.

These forums are for call recipients to share their experience and optionally offer advice. If you can provide a business name and/or details on the caller's stated purpose, you might get a more helpful response.

These people have been harassing me for YEARS.  I do NOT owe them or anyone they represent any money.
They prey on the seemingly uninformed.  Have them stop or I will report them to my states attorney
