Debt Collector
If your credit's already shot, don't ever make payment arrangements with a debt collector.  Wait for it to get to an attorney that can actually do things on behalf of the creditor.  I have a friend that got sued for a $25k credit card debt and he's paying it off $100 a month with no interest and the credit card company will not actually file the judgment so long as he makes his payment every month.  Again, this was done with their attorney who actually has power to negotiate and can get in trouble for not keeping his word.

Long story short: Don't deal with the debt collectors, deal with the attorneys.

For anyone that has had issues with any collection agency.  Everyone being cotacted by debt collection agencies does have rights.  For information online look into the fair debt collection act.  This legal act details how collection agencies are to conduct themselves.  If they violate any of your rights contact the appropiate agencies or a lawyer.  Stand up to these people and don't let their tatictis work.  You may need o pay your bills however they do not have the right to treat everyone like a criminal.  Lets face it collection agencies are no more than the local loan sharks. Good luck everyone.

The peole would not give me their address without a lot of argument and when I kept asking for their address for sending a cease and desist letter.

These people are so crooked. when you call theydont even identify themslves as debt collectors, which i am sure is against the law! the threatened my gradpa who just had open heart surgery and said they wouldn't care if he died while on the phone with him! They are heartless rude and do not abide by the rules in place for collecting a debt. Everyone who has been harassed by them neds to file a complaint to the FTC please!

Chase Credit Card.  They call first in a.m. as Chase  Credit Card from 866-275-0020.  If you answer and hang up on them then the 952-944-7575 number calls back 1-2 hrs later.  They want it to appear that they are  not back to back calling you with harassing telephone calls.  They forgot about us as a group of Americans using the internet to make sure they will eventually have to stop this practice.  Keep shouting folks.  I am proud to be an american

Debt Collector
Calls started on my cell phone a week ago from this toll free #, along with a call from another number: 952-944-7575. I got a call from Mike on Tuesday trying to reach someone named Jeffery something-or-rather. First he called at 9:15pm (which I thought in general collection agencies weren't supposed to call after 9pm). After telling him I had no idea who this guy was, he kept asking if I knew when Jeffery would be available. I had to say 3 times he had the wrong #, and he still asked if this guy was my brother or relative. After I told him he was calling a wrong # and he's calling a cell # I've had for several years, he basically called me a liar saying they've reached this guy at this number until now. I told him again it's a cell phone & since this was taking minutes to take this number off his list. He said "we'll take it under consideration". I just send it to voicemail now when I see either number.

This is a collection company called Viking Collection Service with offices in MN and AZ. They collect for a lot of large banks (i.e. Chase) and various companies including car rental. BE CAREFUL, they are very aggressive, lie and rude! They will harass not only you but your family, neighbors and co-workers. They will call any phone associated with you that they can find!
