And as SB Search Marketing John says, DO NOT give access to them in your MCC account as an administrator on any account, actual Google reps already have access to this information.

Unless a company is spoofing their phone number to match this number, this *IS* an actual Google Adwords support phone number. However, I doubt you would be getting a phone call from this number from an Adwords rep if you were not an agency managing multiple Adwords accounts.

Cory has called and emailed me multiple times. This is a scam, and I'll tell you why:

Their emails come through as @google.com.  Now, Google's emails are formatted and look very different from this.  Secondly I've been doing this since 2009 and have only a couple times been reached out to by the Google Engage team and they're never to do "work" but instead to have you sign up for webinars or host events to sell their services.

The smoking gun though is that in order to take advantage of Cory's service to help us we just have to link in a new administrator to the accounts we manage as a company.  I'll eat crow if somehow I'm proved to be wrong and this is legitimate but I will not risk my Clients' billing and account details by linking in an "Adwords Engage specialist that cannot look up and see the same information Google AdWords Help can see with the snap of their fingers.

They are not official google reps at all.they are a group of tweers that live in oak park.they call u from google plus phone numbers thats y it seems there is an extention.they get ur buisness name off ur work cars then they call you portraying to b google.  Bing facebook yahoo ect...they also call and tell you google is having a special on setting up websites for small buisjess advertising.first of all google is free.addwords is not,addwords is them....payper clici is them.....they know how to set up websites...duh??? If u agree to set up website,they will coach you through it through godaddy dot com...website builder.   There website too.they set it up on go daddy while u just set up website and didnt put it anywhere yet.....they put there own domain name and password wich makesbur advertisement,belong to them.goodluck on changing things around by ur self without ur own password......u then give themvur credit card number....tovpay for there services lol....there not google......then they moniter your  your advertized website....and they bid agaijst u sovu think ur being outbidded as ur bill goes higher....they are clicking on ur website, payper click,wich brings ur so called bill higher.they will keep track of ur billing...through a billing payper click website.....that keeps track of the dwtes and clicks,,,,,because they moniter it everyday,and add there own clicks,and the datee they clicked on ur s***. They even bill u...through emails !!! They tell u theres a 1,000 cancelation fee.....wich is b***s***....they have controle of ur add n ur website so therefore if u dont have money on ur credit card for the so called bill....they will hide ur own add from u....just by simply changing ur password so u cant get in...it looks as if its suspejded.....they steel ur buisness by monitering who looks at ur website...they portray to b u....and if they f*** up....its under ur buisness name....they set up online billing for you,and enter ur pinfo....with therevpassword....its how they moniter your activities........when they tell u they need ur password to get in ur account...because they really do.....they go to www.whatever service they portray to be .com.....and pull u up on the screen on there own smart fone even!!!! They  use ur credit card numger to pull money out ur acand they call it the bill for ur google ,bing ,or whatever....adwords monthly payment lol....so when money is missing from ur b ank  account,...it looks as if it is accounted for....there is a small group of them men and women,,,,so,yes, it  seems real when one rep is a woman,n one rep is a man.........they use a double flic

Google - Adwords service (Google Engage)

I've never known Google to call someone not part of this program. In fact, I've never known Google to call any of their Adwords advertisers and I've been doing this for seven years.

What it is, as someone else pointed out, is a company (bigger than I am) trying to get new customers. Nothing wrong with that. But they are trying to pass themselves off as Google itself or maybe confusing you that they are.

I would never do that myself but the problem is Google itself. They encourage third-party account managers to say that they are Google. I've actually been told to use this tactic at an official Google Engage conference. Shame on them.

Your message is so wrong except for one thing.  It's not Google calling you.  It's a company outsourced by Google.  There are Google employees in the building with them, and they most certainly can look up your account info.  You probably called Google, got transferred there, added to the system, and you probably even were supposed to be expecting that call.  You sir are a dumbass.

Calls from 1-800-826-9988 are a SCAM related to Godaddy.com. I have a new phone number and NEVER give it out - however, I was recently on a tech support call with Godaddy and gave this number out as a call-back number.

This call from 1-800-826-9988 is the first and only call I have ever received - and it came immediately after disclosing my number to Godaddy. So, either Godaddy is selling its customers' personal information to an adwords reseller or someone has hacked into Godaddy and is stealing customers' personal information.

I am very disappointed with Godaddy. Would not recommend it to anyone.

This is a third party vendor, not actually Google . . but yes, representing Google.  Just from reading other websites, they ask for access to your account to tweak your ads. Their last message to me said it was their final attempt.  If they're trying to sell a product, the tone and comments they leave don't help.

Don't have an acct with Google.  When answered phone, all I got was heavy breathing.

Exactly Grashoppr- It falls on deaf ears. I have told them twice to stop calling and once I said this- I now get several calls a day- every day. I pay over 300/ month for phone service for our business and can not even block this type of s***. The next time they call- They are going to get a bull horn in their ear! (every single time they call) =)

Well, you are wrong, sir, cuz they are calling my cell phone and I do not have an account with Goggle at all, much less be signed up for Adwords.  So, you may want to looks a bit closer into this yourself, cuz it is not what it appears to be.

First of all these people do not work for GOOGLE. they are just another company trying to make money off listing you on google something you can do yourself for free. Second of all these people are lying scum. I actually answerd this call for some reason. He said he was with google and was concerned about my listing that I had them list as there were discrepancies in my listing. I said oh really? And which website are you referring to? His answer was "your website". I said ok so which one as I have many. He again said it was my website. I asked him what the domain name was. He could not come up with an answer. LOL..... what a moron. I laughed and asked him why he could not answer me as to which website he was referring to? Again he said it was "My Website". I asked him if he even knew who he was talking to? Silence. then I asked him if the doamin was called "mywebsite.com". He hung up. Scammers scammers scammers. Scumbags! I will confirm what Mark said above.  I am a Google Advertiser and run many accounts.  I would agree that they are not cold-calling people randomly and it doesn't matter if you are on a Do-Not-Call list.  They are only trying to service their customers.  I can't speak for why they would call you if you are not.

If you are not a Google Advertiser and they call, I believe it would a safe bet to answer the phone and tell them so.

They just phoned me, and I couldn't understand what they were saying as I'm on a train right now. Googled this number and saw it's Google Adwords. Makes sense as I just applied for a Google Adwords campaign last week.

Google Engage Team (AdWords related).  

They're calling me because I signed up to be in this program.  Hard to think that they cold-calling random people.  To those of you who have nothing to do with Google, it's possible that somebody accidentally put your number in when signing up, or there is some other misunderstanding.

It doesn't matter if you're on a Do-Not-Call list if you give the company your phone number for any reason. And if somebody else gave them your number, misrepresenting their own phone number by giving them yours, then Google may be unaware that they have the wrong number.

So try telling them that the number they have on the account for which they are calling is not correct and you would like it removed to prevent further calls.

Complaining to FCC or other organizations isn't going to get as much accomplished. This isn't about telemarketing to random people.

The number they called is on the Do-Not-Call list.  They've called multiple times. Multiple Complaints filed.
