Got a call from that number today.  Asked if it was the XXXX residence (my last name).  I asked who's calling and they said it was the Burnaby Fire Department and then hung up.

This is a professional fund raising company contracted by legitimate organizations.  Still -- probably someone that most don't want to talk too.

A woman called my home / office number, said they were raisng money for the fire dept, asked me for a donation of $100.00, I said sorry not at this time, the woman got very aggressive with me about helping out people in need, I hung up.

I get 3 or 4 calls a day from this annoying person, I wish it would stop, when I answer there is no response on the other end

calls from this number daily.. several times... never anyone there...
today a voice asked to speak with my principal, who was on another line. I asked that my principal return the call. No. would call back. I asked for a name.  BIG CLICK... how rude... won't be wasting my valuable time again.

I got a call from this number from a VERY polite gentleman who asked for the name of the owner of the company, and if he was available.  When I said he was in a meeting and asked who was calling, he said, "oh, please, there is no need to interupt.  Thank you for your time." We'll see what happens now...

This number, 1-800-835-3412, is just one of (I think) Xentel's 1-800 toll free numbers. Xentel is a COMMERCIAL firm that are typically contracted by other, non-profit agencies to raise funds for them. I called the number back and got a recorded message that explained that they were calling for fund raising but the message did not say for whom.

Try emailing dontcall@xentel.com. Maybe it'll work. One thing that didn't work for me was trying to go through a non-profit agency, The agency emailed Xentel but that just seemed to cause an increase in the number of calls. It's possible to use call-blocking but you'll probably still get calls  from other (of their) 800-numbers.

Most postings here are from last year. This is June 09 and they are still calling.

Phone rings, nobody there, hangs up.

Yep as above I get this 800-835-3412 calling me for 3 weeks now, always there is no one there. YEP I live in North Burnaby too.

Humm Burnaby FireFighters might have hired one of those call centers that are down there along the Still Creek Industrial park. And they have a mass auto dial and the particular employee is very slow in picking up the answered line, so  most of us get a dead line.

Perhaps the FireFighters could talk to their fund raisers and get this person stopped as I sure am not gonna donate to any fundraiser this way.

Got this call every day showed on my new caller list, I picked up phone today and talked with a woman she said that she made fund raising for Burnaby fire fight and will send a package to me, I told her that I would like to donor money in person and not interest to send my check or visa informations, then she say no words and hang up first. I live in Burnaby, and I don't think she need call me to use 800 number!!!!!!!!

Just received the call from 1-800-835-3412, and he asked for "the owner of the company". I told him the owner is not available, and asked who is calling and offered to take message for him, he just gave me a very rude "no" as his answer, then hang up.

The 1-800-835-3412 telephone number is some agency that has something to do with fund raising........  I called the number back and a recorded message has yet another number to call if you want information...... The number is 1-800-895-1309....

We have received multiple calls from this number, even at 9 pm. Any ideas who this company is? Caller ID shows "long distance" only.

If I don't pick up, some doofus leaves a "hello ... hello ...HELLO ..." for me. Has anyone tried calling this number?

Me too.  Ring, answer.  I hear a click.  Then the "hung up" tone.

I got a call from the same number a few mintues ago. Nobody on the line either so I hung up. Stupid a-holes.

my store averages 3 calls a day from this number. On the two occasions that I picked up, there was nobody on the line. it then hangs up after about 15 seconds.
