My utility companies may allow for competition in the area. They are not actively aiding in competitors to market to me. You are just trying to continue the unwanted marketing. Pretty Lame

You guys are all a bunch of scared sheep. Research DEREGULATION LAWS. You vpeople voted for the option to PAY LESS for your energy supply. We work on behalf of numerous suppliers. They pay us to provide you with great service. Do your research, and read your utility bills. Customer Choice Option is printed in black and white every month on your bill. If you are in a deregulated state, and have no supplier...your accounts are auctioned off to different suppliers every month. Hence why your rates change along with open market rates. Educate yourselves...idiots.

MXEnergy calls me at least once a week even though I am on the National Do-Not-Call list, and I don't have an account with them.  I'm sick of getting phone calls from all these damn telemarketers. They are the scum of the earth!

I bet your so ignorant that you probably without a doubt think your not on the program. Check your bill for a change.

Every rate I have offered customers for a supplyer has been the same exact rate that they have posted on the supplyers web site. However when choosing a fixed rate if you don't take the rep up on the offer and waite the rates can change due to market condition and supply and demand. Come on Mr.no sales man you need to wake up your ruining it for everybody. Your the scam.trying to scare people from what they voted for. You probably put in the wires, pipes, and meters and caused the monopoly so you voted against deregulation so you could make money off low income family's. Well guess what we the people voted for this program so we the people will express our right to choose. Be than full for agr. They don't make money off your rates they make moneynoff the amount of customers they bring the supplyer. Duh

These calls are not a scam. Whatever utility you have actually chose the supplyes you can choose from. Also when u get calls from more than one supplyer its because your utility allows you to have options. So Mr no sales man gain some knowledge and stop with the negativity and pay attention.this should be a rude awakening.

Actually I don't hear any complaining at all.... Infact I hear uncertainty and fear of what scam is being pulled on them next. And with damn good reason provided the world we live in. I am a representative with MX Energy and it seems unlike so many others I remember my own ignorance before I began this line of work. I had never heard of ESCO'S or Alternate Suppliers, Nor had I heard about CCF, MCF, and Gas Cost Recovery. I was just as clueless and confused as the next person. And let us not forget that just because a majority vote enveloped the state to have the law passed doesn't mean everyone voted or even understood the law. I highly doubt the government fully explained what Deregulation meant in a seminar. And Let us also not forget the power of individuality. Each person has their right to his or her choice.

I too work for MXEnergy and just want to say that degrading a customer or client and insulting their intelligence is just a display of how compassionate you are about what we try to do. The inquiries here are all legitimate questions and deserve to be answered. Before you spent some time dealing with this line of work I highly doubt you yourself held all the answers to the meticulous workings of your own utility accounts. Seriously Have some Respect.

Well I work for a call center on the MXenergy program and I do understand your concerns. It really freaked me out too at first. But the reason they don't leave an account number is because we don't have access to that information. The reason we call is to educate customers about the program and show them how it works. So all we can do is go over an old bill from the utility company and calculate your usage... then we multiply it by our rate and project a price to you. If it beats what you are currently paying for your supply charge we can save you money. That is the Only reason we would ask about your bill. Now if you sign up for the program we would need your meter number and account number to verify that your service with us would go to the right place.

Knocked on my door soliciting this energy product. I asked how they got in the building.  They appeared upset at my questioning who they were how they gained access to the building. Told them to wait a moment and google their name. MX energy. One we don't have gas and they have a horrible reputation. Called the 800 number to verify the salesperson. Spoke to a very rude Tami. Well one thing I learned, their door to door salespeople are just as rude a their phone counterparts. Yuck. Scamers

MX called me three times and tried to pressure me into changing gas companies. They claimed that MX is backed by my gas company and had the nerve to call back even after I told them that I would check the claim with my company and on the Internet.  My gas company flatly denied any connection with MX.   My caller, Leann, and a woman who claimed to be her supervisor would not take no for an answer.  What part of NO did they find difficult to understand?  I finally just hung up on them.

MX Energy has called my company several times and left very "urgent" sounding messages.  I returned the messages only to find the person I was supposed to speak with was in a meeting or on another line.  I was asked to leave a message - verbal only - with the person who originally answered the phone.  You'd think that they would at least have voicemail (clue #1).  I googled MX Energy and found nothing of interest but I did find this blog. (clue #2)

So once I called back and was on hold for five minutes "Christine" finally answered the phone.  She informed they were "partnered" with PSE&G which the gas/electric company that services my office in Jersey.  Once I could tell that it was a noisy call center (clue # 3) and that "Christine" was obviously reading from a cue card (clue #4) I knew it was a scam I listened to what she had to say - hard pressure selling a price fixing program for gas and electric - I declined - was pressured more and she escalated the call to her manager "David" and when I informed him the office is closing by the end of the month he abruptly ended the conversation and hung up.

Not even half an hour later I got a call again - blocked caller id - from "Emily" from MX Energy giving me the same speech.

MX Energy is not affiliated with your utility company, rather they are licensed and approved to participate in your utility company's choice program. A program people such as yourselves voted for years ago to have put in place! MX Enegry is a natural gas/electricity provider that can give consumers a better rate on your utility. MX Energy is one of the largest natural gas/electricity providers in the United States so where does the scam come in?

My wife got a call from this number. They claimed they were affilliated with NJ Natural Gas. "Tawan Ellis" told my wife our gas rates were going up and they were going to lock in my present rate at no charge. I am reporting this to both the gas co. and the do-not-call registry.

Yeah you tell em... These people that complain are just too dumb to take the time to listen. And they are obviously to dumb to remember people like themselves voted for this. Again also too dumb to understand deregulation and know this is a program to their benefit to save them money and that the PUC as well as their Utility Company help make possible for them
