I keep getting calls from this and other 800 numbers that seem to be just hangups.  Google indicates that it's an educational loan consolidator, which would be something that I might receive but I'm sick and tired of getting email, phone calls, junk mail from all these money hungry bastards.  I want it to stop!!!

I keep getting calls from these people who claim to "have a file" on me and they want to "update my school status".  When I ask them "what file? who are you? what do you want?"  they are very become very suspicious.  They can't answer questions and I am not clear if they are trying to gain personal information over the phone or what.  They don't seem to be selling anything because they don't seem to be able to tell me what they are selling.  They keep claiming they are affiliated with the US Dept of Education.  I think I am going to contact the US Dept of Education...

I have no idea who this is but they keep asking for private information. They call at all hours of the day starting at around 8am and going until 9pm. ??? Very frustrating. I wish they would stop calling but they wouldn't even do that unless/until I gave them some personal information. Yeah, like THAT is going to happen

the call came up as unknown name and I picked it up.  They started off with my name, hoping that I will confirm to them that it's me but I said that that person doesn't live here and I don't know him.  I gave them a fake name to throw them off....I didn't really care what they wanted, but I googled the number and it's a student loan consolidation place.

I am getting calls from this number at all times of the day. They immediately want me to verify my identity--BEFORE they even tell me who they are or what they want. Yea, like I am that stupid. I just hung up but that has not stopped them from calling. They are calling my cell phone so as far as I know, the do not call list doesn't apply....

Won't stop calling, even when you tell them to.  Basically the same thing as described by Billy el-Meurto.  Their "website" www.edudebtsolution.com is totally bogus.

DANGER, WILL ROBINSON, DANGER!

The caller said that I had been "selected by the US Department of Education" to receive a special, three-year, no-interest deferment on my student loans.  He read a bunch of publicly available information, including the first 5 digits of my Social Security Number (which can be reconstructed from one's birthdate and hometown), and then asked me to "verify" the last four digits of it.  They are doing identity theft.

The caller ID gave no info, but he gave the phone # and knew the address associated with it (per a google search on the number).  In a heavy Indian accent, he insisted that he was calling from Florida.  Neither he nor his only-slightly-less-accented manager knew the name of the other street at the intersection (per google map).
