had a message relayed to me by my boyfriend to have me call this number back. my boyfriend asked how they got his number and they told him that he was used as a reference; this was 100% @#*&. i have never used my boyfriend as a reference. their call center agents are rude and disrespectful talked to them twice about taking my number off the call list and only contacting me by mail...in the process of lodging a formal complaint about how they perform business

They are calling and harassing my mother about my dead sister's student loans.  I called them back and the man who answered immediately got aggressive when I wouldnt give him any of my Moms information.  I told him I would be contacting my attorney and he started yelling and said to me"oh you go ahead".  The man wouldnt even tell me what the agency did!  When I asked him why he was yelling at me he hung up.  The man's name is Aaron Mack that he left with my mother.

Why don't they just send a letter? If they want to accomplish something...this is definitely not the way to do it! You get alot more bees with honey than with vinegar..IDIOTS!

These people kep calling my house everyday, and refuse to tell me what they want. They ask for my information to be disclosed to them which I refuse to do because in my book...you do not call a person and demand information and refuse to say who you are or what you want! wtf?????

I keep getting these calls at a VOIP number that I only use for gaming and no real life matters or financial stuff at all. They keep asking for some random person I have never heard of and leave harrassing voicemails and stating that persons personal information (which is illegal) over the air. Thankfully my service has a block feature.

Omg to tom and amanda i recieved a similar phone call in December for the first time from a guy he was so rude.He said I $25,000 for a school loan that I had they told me adress phone number and even my co-signers name they never asked for my social and I didnt give it to them.He said I had to put $5,000 down and make monthly payments I told him I did not have that kind of money he then started to yell at me and say if I don't pay it  he's going to take further action with my case today.I told him again that I don't have that kind of money he then hung up on me.In January I recieved a phone call from a women asking for the same amount of money down I told her all I had was $200 she then told me I had until the end of January to make a $500 down payment and pay $100 a month from then on I could not get the money. It's now February she has been calling me several times a day from different numbers I haven't been picking up.She just called me and I decided to google the number THANK GOD I found this website and these postings. Now I don't have to worry about paying these thieves.

They called and left the same scripted message that others have posted here.  When they called back and I answered I knew immediately who it was.  The first thing I said was "please hold on a second, I want to record this conversation, there, now do you understand that this conversation is being recorded?"  He hung up and has never called back.

I received a phone call very similar to yours. She said her name was Aidee Carabello (not sure if that's spelled right). She didn't ask me for my SSN, but she asked when I could pay my student loan. I asked her how much it was, she said $21,000, but they would settle for $14,000 if I could pay it right then, which no, of course I couldn't. She then told me that I could make monthly payments IF I put $4,000 down. I told her I didn't have that much money, and she asked me how long it would take to get the money, and I told her that it would be impossible for me to come up with that much at all. I asked her what company she worked for, my account number and the name of the original company that I owed the money to (which I know), but she wouldn't tell me any of that. She then told me that my mom had a credit card with a balance of over $5000 on it and I should just ask her to put the down payment on it, or better yet, get her to take out a loan for the $14,000 to pay it off. I asked her why she was looking at my mom's credit report, since she had no legal right to obtain it. That's when the call ended. I spoke with my mom, and she doesn't have any credit cards at all. This is a scam!

Yeah they called and basically Knew everything about me. Full Name, my old address, they asked for my social number... I gave it to them in full :) because I have Identity thief which is the best by the way catches anything my social is linked too. Some couple from Mexico tried to buy a house using my Social 3 years ago. They couldn't and I sued them for X..amount :) But this was very good because they had the call center noise in the background they talk fast and straight to the point great English. So when they were like would I like to make payments on my Student Loan today. I asked how much is the loan she said 21,000 dollars I said yeah I will pay today in full. She asked for the account number.... I told her oh wait did I give my social already?????? She said yes I asked whats the last 4 digits of my social? All of a sudden her computer was down and couldn't find my info so she said I can send money order or I will be sued for the amount. I said Im ready to pay it in full as long as you can remember my last 4 digits of my social I was placed on hold for about 4 minutes and she told me a totally different social number so I played along and she had my old address and name right.... So I said how about I give you my account login information so you can transfer it over to your accounts? SHE SAID OK!!!?!!LOL

So I said ready? Bank of America (username all Caps)  GOFUCKYOURSELF (password) NOW.... I asked her what does that spell and she hung up. I tried calling back and got a dial tone.... So Im going to try to keep calling but I think Im blocked from them now.............

I recieved a phone call from a local area code number (813) 774-3625 and the man on the other end said his name was Dave Allen and that he was trying to locate a Marissa Dollins. (I don't know a Marissa Dollins). He said I was on her "contact list" and that it was important that she call 1-800-932-4491 and that she needed to enter a reference number #4444566. I asked what he was calling in reference to, and with some defensiveness in my tone he made up some name, I can't remember what acronym it was. He asked if I knew a Marissa Dollins and I said no and he said that he had my full name-he then said my FULL NAME- and asked that I take him seriously. I said that he sounded like he was trying to scam me and when I said that he said "please hold", and he put me on hold. I hung up at that point.
1. he called me from a LOCAL unlisted number.
2. He knew my entire name. (kinda scary)
3. doesn't tell WHO he's calling in reference to.
4. My number is fairly new, so nobody from my past could possibly have this number unless I knew about it.

Yes --you can hire an attorney who knows something about the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and have him or her sue for violating your consumer rights.  They will probably settle out of court and as part of the deal you might even end up getting them to pay you!
