Capital one has several numbers they call from.  I have 2 loans with them because I consigned a loan for my son's girlfriend and she consigned for mine.  I was late making a payment and those of you hitching about a couple calls a day are lucky.  I made arrangements and still got 8-10 calls every day.  And when I did answer I felt like a broken record.  I quit answering the calls.  But then I have mags to delete.  Anyway for those who don't have a loan with them or they are calling the number looking for someone else the best thing you can do is to tell them do not call this number and any corespondence must be by mail only. You will also let them know you will report them.  Then follow this up with a letter stating what you told them.  If it continues send a second letter just by changing the date from the first one you typed and sent.  By violating the fcc act they will have to pay you for doing so.  Hope this helps.

What will happen if they "...WRITE to the address you gave them" ... you want them to send themselves a letter?  Me thinks the rocket scientist got a bit too close to the rocket fuel this time.

This person spent the time to provide valuable information to many people, yet you have to be a jerk to them - you're the one who has problems!

It was an automated recording when I called back.  Wanting my social security number, and said I applied for an auto loan.  Which I have not.  You can not speak to an operator/person.

This lady left her name as edna and this number.   800 946 0322 for me to call her.she is trying to locate some one and maybe I can help her.
im not being paid by them so why does she think I would do her job.

I have been getting calls from capital one Auto finance about once or twice a month. I am getting a little Fed up with them constantly calling me. It has been going on since February 2013. The most recent call was today.I have at least been keeping track of the calls that I am getting from capital one auto finance.
I DON'T  have any accounts with them, and I don't have a car either.

Got another call from capital one auto finance on my phone. I don't have a credit card account with capital one, and I don't even know how to drive a car or own a car. I find the calls from capital one auto finance is becoming very annoying to me and I would like to know how do i get the calls to stop. I also would like to know how they got my phone number as well too.

Congrats! You got thru to a person.  I have had my phone number for 10 years and have never used Capitol One for anything.  It put me thru the same run-a-round with the SSN.  I just kept hitting the zero until it got fed up and told me thanks for calling...bye.  I never did get to cuss anyone out... :-(

It is Capital One, you use the line to make payments thats why it asks for your social.

I don't have a card with Capital one i have called several times to tell them they are contacting a business and I am not the person who has an account with them, they say I will be taken off their list and Here I am again with more calls.. ITS SO ANNOYING!!!!

DON'T LISTEN THE PERSON WHO MADE THE INCORRECT COMMENT ABOVE.  I DON'T HAVE A CAPITAL ONE CAR LOAN, NEVER HAVE.  

If you get a phone call from them, that is flat out wrong, just like the poster above, get a program from the Internet that screens all of your calls, like I did, and just blocked the crap out of them.

To get rid of the onslaught of calls. You have to send Capitol 1 a certified letter stating that you are invoking your rights under the "Fair Credit Reporting Act". After they receive the letter the only way they can contact you is through the U.S. Mail. It's what I did.

I am getting daily calls from this number at work.  I have never had any sort of account with Capital One.  I cannot get to a human being.  The system leaves a number and asks for a return call, when I do that the system asks my loan number, when I don't provide it I am disconnected.  I am a cafeteria manager this happens everyday during the lunch rush.

Received a call from this number.  Googled it.  Cap One Auto Finance.  I have a car loan, but I am current on my payment arrangement.  So, called back.  Spoke with representative.  He verified that I was current, and said he has no record of someone just calling me moments earlier.  He said maybe it was dialed by mistake.  I'm thinking that the calls are just generated if you're in their system.. not necessarily b/c you're late.  Like Tiff said, probably trying to sell you something... etc.  The guy apologized.. but, I'm sure it won't be the last time.

This is capital one auto loans, but they're not necessarily calling about late payments. They wanted to offer me another loan for being a good customer. LOL right! Like we can afford another car payment in this economy. ;-)

The same thing happened to me - when I told them that I had just gotten this number, that I had a terminally ill child in the home and that we needed to leave the phone on the hook for doctors, somebody said "Sure," and hung up on me. And believe it or not, THEY ARE STILL CALLING!!! I don't even have a car - I reported them to the National Registry three times in the last two weeks.

I just received a phone call from them reminding me of my payment - which is due in 2 days. I have it scheduled to come out of my account in *gasp* 2 days, when it's due! I wouldn't mind if they called me if I was late a few days, but to have them call me 2 days before it's even due? Very annoying.

And yes, they use MANY, MANY, MANY numbers to contact you. Very hard to trace.

Also, I have had credit cards with them in the past and that part of their company is not as annoying/persistent as the Auto Loan part. Guess they just want their money.

I do have a loan with Capital one but it's on Auto pay and isn't even due yet. They didn't leave a message.

I only have one problem with them calling and calling, MY VEHICLES LOAN IS NOT LATE!!!!!!!!, it gets taken out of my check twice a month as they agreed on when we first started it, we had the option to make one payment a month or split it into two payments a month which we did, and it comes out automatically so they can't be calling about a late car payment bill.
