Debt Collector
Last week I received a call from a woman trying to collect $1500 from me....as i was asking questions i could hear a man in the background feeding her the answers.  I demanded to talk to whomever was feeding her the information....and wouldn't you know it, Mason Storm gets on the line.  In the past he's only been dealing with my husband and that just ends up in a screaming match!  He starts by telling me that my husband owes him money.  i ask him why we owe him money and he tells me that my hubby knows why and that i should ask him myself.  i tell mason that if he wants money from me that he needs to tell me.  mason then quickly scans thru a paper (or papers) and is reading little blurbs out lout.  while listening to him i learn that he is talking about a house that we foreclosed on almost 2 years ago.  WE OWE NOTHING on this house.  We walked away from it, and a few others, AND filed bankruptcy!  I tell him all of this and make it perfectly clear that I WILL NOT be giving him any money.  When he asks for payment again, i jokingly tell him that i will gladly give him my debit card number, my driver's license number, my ssn# and all other personal identity information so that he can live a day in my shoes.  what a JOKE!  so a week goes by and he calls me again asking if i'm going to pay him $1500 for a home investigation performed 2 years ago!  my husband and i did not order this house investigation....we have no paperwork on it, have not received record of it, a bill for it, etc.  there is no way in hell that i am paying for it...and i told him so!  he asks me if i'm going to get my lawyer involved or pay up....  i said to him, "um yeah....NO"  and he hung up!  can't wait to talk to him again...NOT!

Mr. Storm contacted my EX-Mother-in-law trying to locate me. After giving her all kinds of personal information about myself he got very rude with her when realizing that she would not give him anything on me. She called and gave me his name and number and that it was concerning a repo'd car that took place 3 years ago. I'm not sure how he got her contact information, but gave him a call anyway to find out who he was and to get the account information. He got very hateful and started yelling at me over the phone when I requested the information. He said that I needed to pay $XXXX immediately or he was filing on me in the morning and I could deal with it through the IRS and courts. He hung up on me then. I called back and told him that we must have been disconnected. He commented that "No ma'am. I terminated the call".  After requesting the information to be mailed to me once more the said that "it's not going to happen". and hung up again. Oh I wish I had been able to record the conversation. He was so hateful and rude. He continued to yell at me and threaten that "it's obvious that you don't care about your credit, so we will just go after your husbands".  Should I contact a lawyer? He wouldn't even tell me the name of his company. He wouldn't let me talk to anyone else and wouldn't give me a physical address. He won't send me any type of invoice regarding the bill he trying to collect on and will not answer my calls now. He immediately hangs up. The last time I actually talked to him he told me that he was not playing my games and not to call back again.

Did you ever figure out if this was truly a call from the company in Houston owned by Howard Judah or is someone else using their number?  I have received the same calls and would like to know whom to contact.

i live in texas and i did a 1 time payoff with a credit card company and the written off amount is now in the hands of Mason Storm ( steven segal wanna be ) my HR Manager received a very disturbing call telling her if she did not take a message for him and give it to me he was going to send over a wage garnishment. I work for a law firm and beceause of the rude and nasty and demanding way he spoke to her she recorded the call. We had an investigator look into the this  800 number and found it is listed National life settlements in houston.( LOOK them up and call the secratary of state no collection agency license in Texas) They buy insurance policies and it seems the are also PRS investments owned and operated by a Howard Judah. The law firm  I work fro has put me in touch with an attorney out of Dallas Dean Mason. He specializes in this kind of unethical behavior from so called debt collectors. Like MASON STORM. i did the online complaint to him and I am awaiting a reply. I strongly suggest that everyone that gets these calls do the same thing record calls and get a lawyer. The law is being broke. Collections agengies are mandated by the FEDERAL Laws that are in place to protect the consumer FDCPA. no threat can be made unless the agency/debt collector can follow through with it. and surley   they cannot use profanity to any person " GET OFF MY DAMN PHONE" is what Mr mason storm said loud and clear to our firms HR manager. no judgment is in place against me so he cannot do a wage garnishment or place statewide leins against me. HENCE I LIVE IN TEXAS.

Google "Mason Storm".  I guess the adult video market is slow so he's moonlighting as a collections guy.

I got a voicemail on my companies main line telling me to have my lawyer call this number. Here's a transcript of the message...

"This message is concerning Sonja MacFox.

You need to have your attourney contact Mason Storm at 1-800-946-1002 extension 109.

Good luck to you maam."

I'm so glad this site exists so that we can collaborate against these loosers.

These folks break so many rules it's almost funny but for my valuable time which they have wasted.  If they were for real they'd play by the rules.  Check out this federal Fair Trade Commission document for help.

Yeah. When I told him i'd be happy to make payments as i have done in the past he stated "we don't want your $100...you can only make payment in full of $XXX". When I said i hadn't received any notice of a bill from the company he said "yeah, that's what Texan's say..." Very rude. I'm calling the attorney general to make a complaint.
Abusive and will not send a bill.

I just had a disturbing experience with this number.

Ask for a bill in the mail and expect to be treated nasty (actually yelled at) and told they already sent one and you'll get in really big trouble if you don't just give them your bank information now so they can clear it up before the fees go up.  Oh and if you want to send them a money order they won't want to give you a physical address.

Very very fishy.  At this point I doubt that I even have a real debt to these people.  They can't prove it to me with something as simple as a bill so I know they can't do it in court or anywhere else, as threatened.

I called the FBI and explained my experience.  The agent said it sounds like a big scam.  He also said three times to not give them any money or information.  He then directed me to my local financial crimes police.  I have already left a message with them.

This has been my experience.  I am posting it here to help others who are threatened with jail time (as I was), yelled at and disparaged on the phone (as I was, by the primary contact and her "supervisor") and unsure if this is a real situation they need to take care of.

My aunt called me saying she had been called by this company about a debt of mine. What pissed me off was that they had given her my SSN as a reference number on the account!!!!

I called to speak to a manager and he said that's jsut the way they do things. Totally unprofessional...I am looking into the legality (lack thereof) of this practice.
