We get phone calls multiple times a day from this number.  Today I actually answered the call and sure enough it was Mercedes from Discover.  She wanted to set up an auto pay for my husband's Discover card.  I told her I would  absolutely not give my bank account info to them and I pointed out the phishing complaints from this phone number.  People beware!

As an employee in that "hardship" department. I can testify that this is REAL number. With a REAL Discover Card rep. If you answered the phone, you would quickly find out. There are regulations that restrict us from leaving a certain amount of voicemails. And P.s the number on the BACK OF YOUR CARD is Customer Service. Who has nothing to do with the department. Thanks! ;) -Discover Card Employee

After my last post I answered the calls the following day with the intention to get them to stop harassing me. The lady wanted my bank account info so she could set up automatic payments to "help me out". I told her I didn't need help making my payments as I've never made a late payment before and I would continue to take care of making my own payments in the future, so would she please take my # off their list. She said she would.

Fast forward to May 6 and the calls have started up again from this number! Same scenario as before multiple calls a day and never any message left. It's so annoying how intrusive it is. Especially when you've already taken the time to deal with them and told them to stop calling and remove your number. Heading to the do not call list to file another complaint against them, for what it's worth. Maybe if enough people complain they will take notice and shut them down. The site is:  donotcall.gov

I've gotten several calls over time on my cell phone. I call Discover to ask if this is their number. They told me no.
And the rep. promised to report these calls and the phone number

I've been getting calls from this number for a few months now. I never answer numbers I don't recognize and at first they never left messages. Then about a month ago the did, always a different person saying they are calling from discover card and they are excited to speak to me. Sometimes though they leave a 10 to 39 second recording of dead air. It's so annoying. I am also on the do not call list but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Hmm, I started getting calls from this # today. I do have a Discover card -- I have had one for like 10 years and I've never had them call me before, so it does seem odd. I always make my payments on time and pay over the minimum due, but I do carry a balance. Anyway, I'm not answering it and I hope it doesn't become a nuisance or I'll be calling Discover cards to complain! They didn't leave a message but I'm assuming it's Discover since there are recent posts verifying it.

Definately fraudulent activity, someone's point of sale system that has your phone number got hacked.

Discover has gotten a very high volume of calls about this number and are going after the crooks behind this, as are authorities.  Use call block on this number for sure.

Never take a sales call from anyone claiming to be associated with or selling anything related to your bank or credit cards.  Always call the card number on the back of your card to see if someone is legit.  Chances are they are not.  Also avoid giving retail stores your phone number and/or email address if you want to avoid getting calls from identity thieves that steal your credit card and contact information from retail stores' point of sale systems.

Got a call from what maybe discover claiming I was over the limit,  which I shouldn't be. I said I would take of it. When I checked caller id. It said it was a mobile phone.  Why would a credit card be using a mobile phone to conduct business.  I don't think so. Be careful.  I wouldn't give out info this way. It is dangerous.

After ignoring these dopes for a few weeks I picked up the phone. Some jerk asked for my wife by first name (guarnateed to hack me off, especially when they refuse to identtify themselves first). He claimed to be with DIscover Card ( my wife DOES have an account with them). Told him to not call again, if they need to contact us to use the US Postal System. After reading the comments here I realize someone was trying to scam us. Lottsa luck with THAT one!

Next time I'll tell the twerp he's gotten the number for the local police dept. We'll see what happens then.

I have received 4 calls in the last 24 hours.  After reading several posts I decided to call Discover.  Spoke to a very nice rep who assured me that they have a security team that monitors the accounts 24/7, but also to by no means give this person/company any personal information.  He stated that if Discover were to call me, they would not ask me to verify personal information by phone as they already have it on file.  He asked me if I was on the Do Not Call Registry, which I thought I was but resigned up for last week, and he said that I was doing all I could do.  Also told me that if I wanted to get a new account number that they would be happy to do that for me.

I have been getting 6-8 calls per day, EVERY day (including weekends) starting at 8 a.m. for the past 2 weeks.  Caller ID says "toll free call".  Ocassionally (never more than once per day) there will be a recorded message saying "This is Discover Card. It is very important that you return our call to 800-951-0092."  There are several Discover Card holders in this household and the message does not say who they want the return call from.  I called the #, entered the requested info at the prompts and was given my current account information from an automated system.  If it's truly that important for them to contact someone, they should have a real person call; mention the name of the person they are trying to reach; and leave a callback # that is not precrecorded information.  Idiots.

They have been calling me for weeks and I have on my home phone the ability to block numbers. My cell is already being investigated by my carrier and the FBI. This number will be turned over as well. Spammers, spoofers, hackers and whoever wants to do evil...I am one to not mess with. They have no clue as to who I am, who I know and my intelligence. Good luck everyone.

Keep a close eye on your bank account.  Auto withdrawal gives others the opportunity to draw funds from your account.  I personally prefer to handle my own money as I don't feel someone else should have free access to money in MY BAMK ACCOUNT.  We as a nation of people are getting too lazy and allowing others to handle our money which is why Fraud is on the rise.  Be sure to notify your bank if there are any transactions that you didn't authorize.  I expect there will be some on your account soon.

this number has called my cell phone 4 times today (10:34am;10:40am;11:54am; 12:01pm) and it is now 12:10pm.  I have received calls from this number no less than three times per day over the last week.  Fortunately, I have call blocker on my cell phone and it is blocked, but it appears in the call log.  I am on the National Do-Not-Call list with both my home and cell phones.  However, I have found that that list just does not work and is not enforced.

You guys are all idiots. It's discover card, your account is mostly like "high risk" which means either your credit score dropped, or you fell behind on your mortgage/other credit card/ auto loan you name it. Your a risk, and I add your most likely at least 250$ away from maxing out. Discover card is gonna cover their a** just like you would. So they call offering direct pay, which comes with incentives of credits or lower APRs. So if anything your just hurting your self. It is an automatic dialer so half the time the call comes in before the representative even knows. & by the way LEGALLY they can't give out your address or any information pertaining to a card member until the card member them selves verify their name. Idiots.

They have been calling me since the beginning of June, several times a day. First on my cell then on my home phone. I finally contacted Discover since I knew my account was up to date and they also had no record of anyone calling me or any association with the number these people leave.

For me they always leave a message and most recently refer to themselves as my personal account specialist.  Not sure if I should call them I just want the calls to stop.

This is discover card.  For those of you that think it is a scam, its because you probably got one of thier pushy incompetent reps on the phone that didnt know what they were doing and asked dumb questions which made you believe it was a scam but it is indeed discover.  They usually do this when you go over the limit on your card or for other reasons they deem appropriate.

Tell them you do not consent to a recorded phone call, its kind of funny because it will stop the conversation quickly, then they will try to transfer you to a call thats not recorded, threaten with a lawsuit for harassment and for them to take you off the list and to never call you again.

If you supply your number to discover their fine print says you allow them to contact you and with auto dialers and so on.  I will never get a discover card again as these losers called 3 times within an hour and one at 8:45pm at night.  If you need a credit card go with a credit union they have better terms and dont bother you.
