If a collection agency calls you, you have the legal right to tell them to CEASE and DISIST and to remove your number from their database it is against the law for them to contact you again after you make that statement

Received a call today from "800 Service" at 866-392-2178.  The voicemail said to call them back at 800-982-0484.  They were looking for my ex-husband.  We've been divorced for five years, and he has never had this number or lived in this house with me.  I called them back, told them the situation, and they "removed my number from their list" and said they wouldn't call back again.  We'll see!  

Ex-husband...why oh why can't you get your stuff together?  Pay your bills.  I bailed you out once and I'm never doing it again.

Same problem here with the same number. The caller ID showed the 0484# but the message gave 1-800-444-3012. My husband spoke with the lady who tired to say he owed a vehicle debt. When he inquired her name she said it was Michelle. He inquired of her last name and she stated, "Sir, I do not have to give you my last name." He then inquired of what type of vehicle was she talking about and she could not give him a type. When I took the phone and asked for her full name, address, phone number, and the company she worked for, all I could hear was music playing in the background. She would never answer me. After holding for several minutes and repeating, hello? hello? Without any answer from the lady I finally hung up.

I keep getting the same calls and I have no idea what they are talking about. I am offended at how many times they call and how rude the man is on the message. Something needs to be done about these people!

I have been receiving calls from this phone number from a Mr. Roberts.  He will leave a message and it always starts out with him coughing and clearing his throat.  Now it has progressed to a message of his screaming and telling me I will be sorry if I don't contact them.  Last time I contacted them, they were going back on something for 15 years and when I asked to see information on this as I am not sure what the problem was, they never responded.

It is getting very tiring as they will start calling at 7 am and I have gotten calls as late as 10:00 pm, 7 days a week.

Oh my gosh!!I goggled this number because i wanted the number of the creditor and it was about an account i had years ago. they set up payments and one bounced..i never recieved ANY THING IN THE MAIL!!JUST A PHONE CALL. i called them and gave them a piece of mmy mind and told them even if this was legimate i would not work with this company!

They call me from the time i get up, until the time i go to bed ,they really need to stop. It should be againt the law.

We get these calls 7 days of the week.  The person states that this is Robert in a deep and mean voice like I am suppose to be afraid of him.  States to call the office of Gary Marshall as "they have notified me in writing and given me every chance to resolve the matter".   They also say this is not a solicitation and the voice sounds very mean, but this is a matter that needs to be resolve and taken care of.  They call every day at odd hours. The calls are beginning to become a big problem and I wish they would STOP.

I have received these phone calls for about two months straight everyday.  I have never called the number back.  I am on the do not call list, but yet they keep calling everyday.  What can I do?

Damn that Gary Marshall!! I received the same message. It seemed suspisous especially since I recently did a credit check and my credit it just fine with no outstanding debt and I have never received any letter or any other phone call. I Googled the # and found this website along with another. Only difference is the # he is using now 1800-982-0484. Beware of this scam

THey called and said that I had owed money on a Lowe's card from over 2 years ago and nothing had been paid on it. Then they tried talking to my husband about it, and then asked him to contact me and then call him back. That can not even happen, they are always telling us that they can not talk to anyone who is not on the account, what a crock!!!

We have been getting these harassing calls for about 3 months now.  Mr. Roberts is really nasty, Gary Marshall is a jerk, and occasionally Ms. Hand leaves a nasty message.  We have been debt free for about 4 years now and don't have any outstanding debt unless it is something that is very, very old.  I will not return these calls no matter what.  They call everyday, sometimes 3 or 4 times a day.  It is very, very annoying.  I have noticed though that they NEVER call me over Holiday weekends.....

screw these guy's I'm suing the carrier (the phone co.) maybe if everyone who gets these calls, finds the carrier and complains, they must give you a reply. if not make sure you write the company, about your complaint. and file a report with FCC. about what you did, maybe just maybe, we all can light a fire under th carrier ass's and make them responsible.

Yes, now the guy is saying name is marshall maxwell.  Please does anyone know the name of the company so I also can send the cease letter.  In my case it is for a legit although extremely old debt.  Over 10 years old actually.  The people who had the account before got my cease letter and never called, but obviously now the account's been sold to a new company but I wont' call them and I need to know the name of the agency so I can send a new leter.  thanks!

got a call from a very rude lady from this number regarding a "pre-legal" matter. She told me I owed money on a card and she had mailed many letters regarding the balance. Like others, I never got any letters from anyone about the matter. I told her to send me something in writing I owed money on this credit card and she hung up on me. Would not answer when I called her back. Defenitley a scam.
