I too recrived a call from this number.  Caller Id shows as just Salt Lake City UT.  I answered and got the Shop with a Cop pitch.  I asked for a web site and was refered to www.SLPA.com with looks legit.  But, reading the other posts I glad I checked.

Caller ID States "Salt Lake Ci, UT"  Caller states she was from Salt Lake Police Association. I don't give to phone charities so, I thanked her for her time before she could launch into her speal.

This number has called four times, this time I answered with "hello", but the caller did not respond.  I hung up.

Abandoned call at approximately 8:30 PM. When I picked up, I heard call-center noise, and then they hung up.

My experience with Western States is that they do not honor requests to stop calling.

Someone calls and when i say hello they say nothing. I can hear typing in the background. Is this someone on production who needs a target number of calls per shift? What a silly pekerson who works for a silly business...get a life losers

SLPA shop with cop fundraiser !

They keep calling saying they are from the SLPD.  I am also on the do not call list.  I, unfortunately, did donate money to this organization 2 years ago thinking they were from SLPD 'Shop With A Cop" program.  I never get sucked into that kind of thing and am embarrassed.

They won't get another dime from me.

Caller ID said "UTAH".  didn't answer.

Got a call today from these people. I told him I don't donate money over the phone & he told me to have a nice day and hung up. So much for Do Not Call & blocking on caller ID.

I told the guy I was not interested and he then went off on me,, I am reporting abuse and misleading information, I will demand with the FCC some answer, a week ago I told him not to call and stop soliciting and it seem that they dont care, I dont feel bad for any pof those convicted felons and I will make sure this will be handle the right way,,,Do not fall for their scams !!! cops dont ask for money...

Bill williams is a fake name. Alot of these guys use fake names because they have criminal records. They claim to be police officers asking for money for kids. They recieve 30% of every dollar they raise then the company Western States Publishing gets another 40% the association will recieve 30% minus half the bills and all office cost for a net of about 7%. The guys calling you sit at a desk and call your info, if you say No or you cant afford it,they call you names and cuss you then go to the next lead. Most are drug addicts you should visit the office. They have convicted child molesters raising money for children here in utah its really sick. Bob Allen aka Bob Davis aka Jim Davis real name Bryan Glen Williams is a front runner and convicted child abuse felon asking for your money to help the less fortunante kids. What a bunch of low life scum bags they have working there. Someone needs to put a end to this and lock them up for fraud like they deserve!!!!!

Caller identified himself as "Bill Williams" with Salt Lake Police Association. Asking for donations for the back to school "Shop with a Cop" Told him I too was seeking donations for my own not yet born kids and he hung up.

Got a call from these guys today...some guy named Mike (Michael?) claiming to be from the Western States Police Association.  When I googled that, nothing came up...sounds fishy to me.  I asked how they got my number and he said, "From a computer."  Hmmm.... I told them I donate to my local precinct and hung up.

A Salt Lake Police Department 2008 press release says they are working with Western States Publishing for Shop with a Cop fund raising. In 2008 the number to call with concerns about whether these calls were legitimate in the police department was 801-799-3211.

I told the guy I would donate online and hung up. Now I can't find anywhere to do so. Who would create a website about a charitable event without a "donate now" button? Their loss

I received a call from this number, also claiming to be with the Salt Lake Police Association, looking for donations to a youth program called, 'Shop with a Cop'.  I said that I would not give out personal information over the phone, but I'd be happy to go to my local police station and inquire about donations there.  They hung up on me. :)

When I lived in the Chicago area, I had a call similar to this, and decided to call the local Police to check it out.  They let me know that Police and Fire Departments NEVER solicit personal donations, so do NOT give out any personal information over the phone, internet, or through the mail.  If you want to make a donation, call or visit your local Police or Fire Department and inquire about it in person.

We constantly receive calls from this number about once a year. We tell them we will either never donate money to any police association again and/or will call the police and report them as the sheer number of calls is harassment it helps put a stop to it until the next year. The NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST DOES NOT APPLY TO CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS, you must to ask them to be put on their own DNC roster. I'm not sure this company is even legit as, in a family full of cops who often participate in charity and fundraising the most common, and legit, in SLC is the Fraternal Order of Police...

Number listed as earlier respondent wrote - Salt Lake Police Association / Western States Publishing, etc. I'm with those who wonder what good the national Do Not Call list does, too, except possibly placate those of us who put our faith in their claims it would be honored and respected by others.

Caller ID showed. SLPA  363-2955. Answered phone but,no one was there.

I found this number on my Caller ID with the name "SLPA". There was no message. I looked it up and found it belongs to the owner of Western States Publishing, Darren Orr, at 230 W. 200 South, Ste. 2603, Salt Lake City, UT 84101-3477. HOWEVER, when  I called the number, a recorded voice said it was the Salt Lake Police Association and asked me to press "1" if I wanted to support their youth programs.

This company just called and hung up. Like so many others.

My family rejects all telemarketers and unsolicited phone calls.  My wife no longer has a checking account. Please do not call again.
