I'm not sure whether to nominate this one for the Shill of the Day Award or grant him/her/it my own "very special" award ;)

LOL, "James Cronan's" been real busy today, huh? What was it? 4 or 5 computers he "fixed" today? And no one could remember their names!!! Oh gosh, my sides hurt from laughing!
| FIGHTING-BACK 2013-09-13 23:43:00 Unknown |

LOL, ...and now they have ALL the information that has ever been on your computer, and may be using your computer without your knowledge. Remember how "satisfied with the services" you are when your bank accounts are drained, your credit cards are maxed out, and your credit report ruined from them using your information.
Oh, and you might want to try to remember your name when you copy/paste.
You are SO OBVIOUS, a blind person could see you're nothing but a SHILL.

My caller said his name was Sandy. Surprised him when I told him I was retired F.B.I. I guess windows tech dept. had no further actions for my computer problems. These people would love to get as much info about you when they call. Needless to say we know what will happen if they can get access to your computer info

I got a very similar call late last night from a guy with broken English and heavy accent. He claimed he works for Windows Service Centre and his head office has received many error messages recently from MY computer and would like to help me resolve the problem. Luckily I have not turned on my computer for the past few days and therefore a red flag went up immediately. So I asked him how he got a hold of my number and exactly what he would like me to do. The guy said he pulled this number from our account profile (which cannot be true as we would never release any personal information to an online account, so another red flag went up). I didn't quite understand what he said about the things I need to do and became so frustrated with him gibbering in circles. I then told him that I need to report this instance and required his name and number so I could get back to him later. He gave me the same 801 number and said his name was (or sounded like) Peter Smith and insisted on calling him back within TWO minutes (didn't know what's the rush!) Anyway, I got up this morning and did a quick search on the number and, voilà, here are the two postings!!!

I received a message from these same people from 801 692 7347 at 6am this morning. I unfortunately made the mistake of giving them a credit card number. I have had problems with my computer so I thought they were legitimate. they also asked for the last four digits of my drivers license.
I've cancelled my credit card and not sure what elso I can do to prodect myself?.

I'm in Canada. This number called me too. Several Indian guys pretending to be windows support. They want info from your computer. They live in American Fork, UT. They say their head office is in California and they are calling from India but really Utah.
Don't give them any info!
