I received a message saying "HI ;D' to which I replied, "Who's this?" and got no response.

I just got a text from this number saying "Hey ;D" I haven't replied because I don't know anyone from Vermont.

Lj,   the DNC registry list doesn't protect or  block anyone's number. It is just a list available to Businesses who do business over the phone,  telling them who does not want to be called.   I would suspect it is random number calling using the shotgun method.  No number is hidden.  Even unlisted numbers are available by robo and random dialing.

I just got the same message asking me to add on yahoo IM said her username was gabriellagirl

Just got the text message: "Hey ;)"
I replied back: "Sorry.  Who is this?"
Received: add me on yahoo messenger. sn is aliagirl.

I just got one too saying "hi". Then asked me to add them on yahoo messenger.

i got a message similar to that that said Heyy ;) from the same number.
