I got a call from 8033934369, was told I owed $1900 plus for a payday loan from 4 years ago. Her name was Sandra Brown, told me I had to pay by 11am the following day or I would be charged with felony deceptive practices. What a joke....glad I found this site as it helped realizing it was a scam!!!!

Wrong.  NOT connected.  A NSF check written for a payday loan doesn't fall under "bad check" laws.  Your callers were scammers.  And I have to question why you would post this information here, unless you're trying to scare people into thinking that defaulting on a payday loan equals fraud - it doesn't.  Debt is civil, not criminal, so no one is going to be arrested and/or jailed for defaulting on a loan!

We had the same type call come in for my husband.  He strung them along a little bit and they told him to call his lawyer and call back with the lawyer on the line.  He had 45 minutes to do that.  Or he had to be at court at 8:30 the next morning to appear before a judge for this "warrant".  This was on a Friday.  The court, which they couldnt tell us which one, is closed on Saturday morning...Idiots!

I also was contacted by a Sandra brown with Royce and associates last year I was asked to pay for a payday loan I had in 2008 my family said not to pay so I did not pay nothing happened until I had to go to court for my driver license and had a warrant not for fraud like she said but for worthless check I ended up having to pay almost 4000 to clear it up I don?t know if it was connected or not or if I paid them I would have not ended up going to jail but I thought I would give my information

I got a call last week saying if I didn't pay that they were going to file charges of felony fraud against me. Sandra Brown told me that they can only do short term payment arrangements (6 months) and that that is all legally I'm allowed to get. My attorney called them and they would not give him any information except the name of an attorney, whom which by the way is not an attorney, we looked it up. I asked why I was never sent a bill if any activity like this had happened and they said they are not required to send a bill. I asked for proof of their company and was informed they could send me an email but they do not send anything through the postal mail. So I say that they are a scam. No legitimate business is going to not send something in the mail and refuse to send something at your request to know if it is real.

She's a fraud. An e-mail is legal proof of nothing. If a collector refuses to mail you a notice of validation, pay them nothing.

I also received a call from Sandra Brown from Royce and Associates. I told them to send me a letter in writing/by mail verifying what I owe and who they are. She refused to do so. I told her by law if I request them to do so....you are required. She refused and said she'd send me an email. They accused me of fraud by check. (I never wrote a check) I also told them that in Texas the statue of limitations is 4 years and it's been 5. They can't take me to court. They threatened me, and told me to pay within 24 hours or I'm going to court.

I got a call from Christine Richards from Royce and Associates, I am guessing it was this # 803-393-4577. I think I got a call like 2 years ago but they never leave their whole number. I don't even known what it is for

Sandra Brown called from "Check fraud Dept" left message regarding a case in her office supposedly filed against me for a Payday loan.  Something about seeing a lawyer in court.  Will do!
