Shame on you poetress380. It's regrettable that you didn't do a little research before you posted to report the phone number. To save on overhead, the National Kidney Foundation hires individuals to call from their own homes to solicit donations of used clothing that is then sold in thrift stores to benefit persons with kidney disease. These individuals who call from their own homes are often elderly, disabled or are caregivers of elderly parents or young children. It gives them an opportunity to work from home and since the National Kidney Foundation doesn't have to pay for a call center, more money goes to actually helping those with kidney disease. These individuals often make hundreds of calls daily and they are paid only when someone agrees to leave a donation and a sucessful pick up is completed. A few years ago when I was caring for my terminally ill father, I solicited donations (from my home phone) for the National Kidney Foundation and believe me it's not easy to keep smiling and dialing when so many people get irate and start cursing you out.

Caller said she was from the Kidney foundation and gave me a number to the foundation. The foundation was Not even open on sundays to verify. Then she needed address so that she did not call you back. Not safe. I do not Believe her

Caller said she was from the Kidney foundation and they would be collecting clothes for the needy. Since it was a residential number, I am not sure I believed her.
