From other Web postings i learned they are Asset Acceptance a collection agency. After researching on their Web site I found their Toll Free number of (800) 545-9931 and asked them Why they had been calling my number. They gave me a name I had ever heard of. I told them that and the promised to remove my number from their list. Hope they are right but at least they had to pay for the call.

they call periodically - like for a month at a time - twice a day. "CALL CENTER, VA" is what shows on caller ID. Anyway, they have been pestering me and a few of my friends for years. I sent and resent their number to the 'DO NOT CALL LIST' - to no avail. I am beginning to believe that site is how they get people's phone numbers. During the elections... I got 20 - 30 calls a day from UNKNOWN CALLER... they were actually pestering people to vote for the Democratic candidate... How did THEY... GET MY NUMBER

This company has been calling my home for the last 2 YEARS, asking for a woman who has NOT lived here for what Im sure is a MUCH longer time that!!! If any one knows how to deal with these people and get them to STOP CALLING please post how!!!

Well I received yet another call from AACC, 804-234-9057. This outfit
is looking for my deadbeat brother who is currently homeless living on some beach, in a tent, in the Santa Barbara, CA area. Each and every call I receive from AACC is a different person. I tell them where they can find the person they're looking for but that does not stop the calls. After I tell these idiots where they can find my brother they all tell me that they will delete my number and not call again. Guess what, it never works. At least this caller (said his name was Sylvester--right!!) was actually polite. Watch, Sylvester will get fired for being polite.

got a voicemail from this number today and about a month ago too. Each time I received a recorded message for Igor Sagaycer (not me) telling me it's a confidential message and to hang up if I'm not Igor. So I deleted the call.

In order to protect my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I had to send AACC a letter:
Rion B. Needs, CEO
Asset Acceptance LLC
PO Box 2036
Warren, MI 48090
Mr. Needs:
At 6:53 p.m. EDT on April 15, 2009, one of your call centers (Caller ID: 804-234-9057, AACC) dialed my home phone (xxx-xxx-xxxx) and left a pre-recorded voicemail message for someone whom I don’t even know. To your credit, the message identified your company as a debt collection agency. My research on the Internet indicates that you are the CEO of Asset Acceptance Capital Corp.
You people need to do a better job in skip tracing because you are using very old information. I have had my phone since November 2004. If you do a reverse lookup on the Internet, you would see that the number belongs to me. Do yourself a favor: Do not sell the debt with my phone number because it may come back to haunt you.
I am not the person you are looking for. I have excellent credit, and I do not have any delinquent debts. Thus, you have no business with me. STOP calling my phone. If you persist, you will be violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. In addition, by using an automatic dialer and leaving me a pre-recorded message without my prior consent, you have already violated Title 47, United States Code, Section 227.
Yours truly,

Thanks so much for your work! You have been a great help.

I've received several calls from them as well. They're asking for a person that hasn't lived here for years, and say "Hang up if you're not..." so I typically do. This time I listened to the message, which gave an 800 number to call back (800-545-9931). I called and they were very nice. I gave them the last known cell number of the person they were looking for (smirk), and they said they'd note that mine is the wrong number.

Called for husbands ex-wife every hour on the hour today even though I told them this was not the number to reach her out. We've been married for 4 years and she has never lived in this area. Let's see if they FINALLY stop calling

Too bad you don't have the officers of the corporation phone numbers. I wonder how they would like getting hundreds fo call per day wasting their time.
clos2myhrt 2009-06-26 23:22:46 Unknown
You seem way knowledgeable on this. Would monthly, five dollar payments suffice, for a time, if one is clearly in dire financial distress ?

Occasional call from this number. Automated call. No debts owed.
liam 2009-06-04 01:19:42 Unknown
absolutely correct!! 3 years; anyday of th week, anytime of day and sometimes after midnight!! They are a terrorist group and should be dealt with by homeland security (which would be a joke, if also was not a terrorist organization to many Americans).

I have received calls from this company for years. They ask for someone that the robocall machine cannot pronounce. Before this, I got calls from humans, but don't remember if it was the same company. I have had my number for 12 years, and they are not asking for me. I tried telling them that I am not the person in question. It doesn't stop. I just filed a complaint with the FTC, but I am not expecting much.
Hank52 2009-05-16 02:23:35 Unknown
They haven't called since 4/28/09.

Asset Acceptance Corp. (AAC) is a publicly traded company. (Nasdaq: AACC) They purchase old portfolios of mostly worthless charged-off accounts for pennies on the dollar. Once owned, they appear to inflate the value of the portfolio, send out dunning notices and try to collect at a ridiculous profit.
Don't be surprised if you notice the date of last activity on your credit report, as stated by AAC is WRONG! Deliberately changing the date of last activity is a way to scam consumers into thinking they are entitled to money they would not legally be allowed to collect.
This is standard procedure for them -- from "re-aging" the debt on the credit history, to suing on what is probably a statute of limitations claim, to reneging on a written promise.
Watch out for the mystery $50-$75 payment you didn't' make that magically revives the account. When pressed, they claim to do an investigation and "discover" that they made a "clerical error" and mistakenly posted someone else's payment to your account.
NOTHING this 'House of Cons' does should be believed or taken at face value. They have proven over and over they are liars and thieves!
Under federal law, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) an account may ONLY stay on a credit report for seven years. One of the cons being used by Asset Acceptance is to claim you made a $50 payment, which would have re-started that clock. Unfortunately this is a 'bogus-claim' by AAC, is illegal and violates your rights.
Asset Acceptance Corp has earned the distinction of one of "AMERICA'S WORST COLLECTION AGENCIES". They lie, steal, cheat, misrepresent, file bogus claims, create phony documents and commit perjury in the court system JUST to increase their bottom line.

I still can't believe how inept these morons are, so I emailed customerservice@Assetacceptance.com:
I received another call from 804-234-9057 at 12:55 p.m. EDT on April 20, 2009, but no message was left on my answering machine this time. A few months ago, I sued a notorious debt collector in Pennsylvania for disregarding my warnings. Are you next in line?
I am who I say I am. Just look me up in the phone book.
Hank52 2009-04-22 03:19:23 Unknown
Apparently you work for Asset Acceptance. I don't care to talk to you people, and I mean to offend. I always communicate with debt collectors IN WRITING. I work as a federal regulator for a living. I know my way around federal statutes and regulations, so I know how to document your transgressions. I am not the person you are looking for, and you are messing around with the wrong person.
Hank52 2009-04-21 02:36:08 Unknown
The morons called again today at 12:55 p.m. EDT (no message this time). There must be a lag time between Warren, MI (corporate headquarters) and Richmond, VA (call center).

We have been called for months on our home phone. ALL our #'s are on the DO NOT CALL registry. I have sent 3 registerd letters to request ONLY contact via mail. All came back signed by AACC reps., but still the calls come.
This has got to stop!
