this number one again called 8:07am, I have a young one sleeping, which means I enjoy a little quiet time once the others head off to school, they call constantly, I never answer, I have and its automated talking about interest rates and such,,,its driving me nuts...

You'd think by now that Capitol One would be doing their own investigation of this company considering all of the complaints that they are getting from customers as well as non-customers.

My cell phone rang, and when I picked up, there was 20 minutes of a recorded message saying that "my call is very important" alternating with muzak. I hung on because I wanted to find out what company was responsible. In the end I was disconnected without anyone ever speaking to me.
I looked the postings on this site, then I called the number back.
The call was answered right away by an agent at Capital One.  At least that part was easy. They looked up my phone number and told me the name of the person they had been trying to call - someone I had never heard of!  They say they have removed my number from their list.  I hope that's true.
Would someone please make a twenty minute tape of muzak and flood their customer-service number with automated incoming calls???  See how they like it.

Stop calling residence its so obvious that the number is not correct.

They occasionally ask for "Jorge".

I told them (in spanish) that I killed Jorge three weeks ago, dismembered him, and disposed of the body parts in the San Pedro Channel.  (ala "dexter")

They still call at 8:20 every morning. . .and hang up.

These people are unbelievable! I do not have a Capital One credit card. I pay my bills on time. They are looking for someone named Rob. I've had this number for 8 years. They call back hourly! I've told them that I don't know a Rob. I've asked them to stop calling as the number is listed in the Do Not Call Registry. I started blocking their number with the blocking service from my phone company. Then they call back using a different number!! This is driving me crazy! Next step is to unplug my phone! I've filed three formal complaints with the FTC .. does nothing!

804-234-9068 Have know idea who this is they keep asking for someone named raymundo. I have told them in both english, and in spanish, that they have the wrong number that no one with that name lives here. they are eating up my prepaid phone minutes, everytime my cell phone rings. they are starting to annoy me. the only thing my caller id on my cell phone says is that the number is from somewhere in virginia.

I don't know why Capitol One would be calling me for collections, I don't even have their card

They called here this morning at 8:20!!!!! We didn't answer, (but that's a lousy time to be having the phone ring), and they left no message. Since we have no reason to be hearing from ANY kind of collection agency, as this apparently seems to be from the earlier posts, I'm really mad. If I get even one more phone call from them, I'm reporting them to the FCC as I did with an earlier number. Will look up the details later and post back here, but mainly, for future recipients, don't even bother trying to get in touch with these people; file a complaint with the FCC.
 (One unfortunate thing I suspect is happening, is that like a virus that mutates, they just keep changing their phone numbers. When you look up other posts for other numbers, you find many, many complaints about "Capital One" if that's even their real name. They're sort of the "swine flu" of the telemarketing industry.)

I don't have a cap one card either and they keep calling my cell phone. I just don't answer because I don't know anyone in that area code. I just googled the number this morning and found this. And how did they get my cell number?

i looked around and found that this company has a few numbers they like 2 harass u with and i found this advice (I asked the Better Business Bureau.  They said to call the Attorney General, Do Not Call Registry at: 888-382-1222.  File a complaint is very easy.  Only takes a couple of minutes.  It is all automated.)

They start around 8am AND CALL ALL DAY, EVERY DAY.  THEY NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE.  i HAVE A cAPITAL ONE ACCOUNT BUT AM UP TO DATE WITH PAYMENTS, SO I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY I WOULD BE GETTING THESE CALLS NOR HOW THEY COULD GET MY CELL PHONE NUMBER, I CERTAINTLY DIDN'T GIVE IT TO THEM.

I received a phone call early in the morning looking for someone that I have no clue who that person is, I don't have any accounts with Capital One, and my number is registered with DNC I asked the person to speak with a sup/w and he refused

I've been getting calls from this number for the past few days and every time I answer they do not say anything and then hang up. Very Frustrating for you phone to keep ringing for NOTHING!!

If the credit card co. was calling  - they would call from a number your could verify.

I have been receiving a bunch of calls for someone with my first initial and  last name I assumed the company got my number from the phone book. The other day my girlfriend stumbled on to a public record site and the person whom these companies are looking for is some how associated to my public record file that the companies use to track down people. You may wont to check the site to see if there are in discrepancies. hope that helps\.

Our company got an email including this telephone number, glad to know it's bogus.

they have been calling me for the last 2 weeks now at least a minimum of 5 times a day and more on the week ends, we don't answer and they don't leave a message.  I have heard of the scams where you do answer and you pay a big a** bill for just talking to them, fell for that once a long time ago, never again.  I did add my house phone to a do not call list. but still not sure what it is they are calling for.

they are call a danielle on my number and have been told numberous times this is not her number

I have received dozens of calls from this number 804-234-9068 and when I answer they say please hold
for important information. My phone is a home cell phone and is listed on do not call list (every one I could find). If I am able to find out who it is and can file harassment charges I will do and I have a copy of my call logs for the last 30 days. I also do not have any Debt collections!.

Wrong person guys.

I just got a call from them. They were looking for a first cousin of mine with whom I haven't spoken in years. I told them I didn't know her rather then going into to detail about why we don't speak and that I honestly don't know where she leaves or how to contact her.

I suspect this number is a scam because my written correspondance with Cap One says my account is current and up to date. I am going to call and confirm this and see if they know who is calling from this number...

got a call from 804 234-9068 today (24 Dec. 2010), a call from 609 373-1904 yesterday....same deal...I don't have cards from Capital One, nor do I owe money to anyone...I don't give my cell number to anyone, but did give it to Frontier for airline alerts...hmmmm

they call 20 to 30 times a day they have all three office phone numbers we answer and say thank you for calling (business name) how may we direct your call then they hang up 99.9% of the time. once in a while we get a message please hold we have an aportant call but all are reps are busy at the moment. well we dont have time to hold. i did have one of my secutary (sp) hold she held for five minutes before she hungup. wish they would quit calling

One suggestion is if they answer get one of those air horns like they use at sports games or a good whistle and blast it as hard as you can into your phone. I guarantee it will get them to stop and make you feel better too if it doesn't that you probably caused permanant hearing damage for them.

I get these calls all day long- even worse is they some how got my work number- i don't even have a cap one card and they are calling for someone who had my phone number.  I put my number on the DNC list and have been told they don't care.  I've filed a complaint and nothing has been done.  I think i'll start calling them at 8am on Sunday morning and see how they like it....
