Received voicemail message from Steven Morgan from Suntrust Mortgage Home Preservation dept calling in reference to the property located in Florida.  Calling to provide me with contact 855-223-4680 (I googled this # and found http://shortsalesuperstars.com/group/suntrustmortgage).  Want to assist me in regards to my property
and asked me to give him a call so he can update the system on what my current status is with that property and my intentions.  If he's not available, I can speak to backup team mate who can assist me.

The property is in foreclosure soon to be sold.  Now they want to talk to me when they previously didn't want to process my short sale offer and asked me to call their attorney because they didn't want to discuss my case in detail even when I said I wanted to give them an update (foreclosure)!  No!

Just spoke with suntrust and this is definately not one of their numbers. They advised that you not give these people any information at all. Creepy scammers grrr

This number is a ROBO call.  Indeed it is Suntrust.  I accidentally missed my payment.  They sent my payment over to their collection department and it is in collection now and I am only 20 days late.  This was actually a bank error but we sent out a payment right away.  I was calling from the road so I did not have my information.  They needed the exact date they would get a payment.  I told them I was not sure.  She said unless she got the date, this would move further down the chain.  I told them to come get the car if they could not wait for the payment.  WTF.  What has the world come to.  You cannot even make an error and have them work with you anymore.  I guess I really do need the car that badly.  I will take my money and get something else.

This is actually SunTrust, the number is, for some reason, a dummy number, any calls that come from many of the SunTrust departments actually shows this number on the caller ID. They could be from: Collections, Loss Mitigation or Short Sale mainly

I received a call from this number also. I gave all my information. Now I fill stupid.

I received a call again, money was wired said has not received it. I am calling law enforcement agency to  check on this number and the people behind it.

I called it back and I got an automated message stating the number I called was busy. If they can't leave a proper message they can kiss off. Suntrust was my mortgage holder until they took advantage of the HAMP act and spent 16months losing my modification raising my principal to an extreme so they could foreclose and cash in on my mortgage insurance. I got help from the attorney general and it finally got done but it was too late, my mortgage was ruined. I gave them the house and am trying to start a new life. I received $500 from a govt lawsuit against the crooked lender. If Suntrust calls just don't answer...

I am a real estate agent who works with short sales, so I get calls often from this number while I help them through their short sale.  If you are receiving calls from this number, your phone number is in their database as belonging to a customer who is seeking a short sale or has defaulted on their mortgage.  It is also possible that one of their customers in this situation used you as a reference on their mortgage application.  If this is not the case, you need to call them back and tell them you received the call in error.  They can look up the account and remove your number.  This is not a scam, it is Suntrust's Home Preservation Department.

I received a voice mail from Kimberly at SunTrust from this number. She said for me to be on the lookout for a FedEx package from them containing one page of my recently closed loan docs which already has my signature, but has a box that wasn't checked that was missed at the signing, which I need to read, initial and send back in a postage paid envelope. She also said the package would include a cover page stating her supervisor's name, 800 number and title.  I will wait with interest and see what it is.  If I have any questions, I will contact my SunTrust mortgage loan officer that handled the closing. I am a paralegal and my husband is an attorney, so we definitely won't sign any papers we don't understand.

I received calls from this number 804-291-0001 as well.  They do not return calls as that is an out going line from Sun Trust ( not an appropriate name for these people) mortgage department.  I had applied for a rate reduction through one of the new government programs of people who may have encountered hardships that are projected to be long term.  I have had to complete numerous forms for this process to get it off the ground.  I am no idiot as I am an ex-school teacher  and business manager for over 30 years.  I have complied with all their request but each time there seems to be a problem.  They actually phoned my aged parents who live hundreds of miles away asking for an alternate number to reach me.  It got them upset and they actually gave them the number that no one ever answers (always busy).  Would not tell them what it concerned and hung up.  I looked up that number on FB and found this page.  I did call the bank on the regular line and was told it was them calling.  The woman I ended up talking too was rude, short and has no business in business.  If she would have worked for me back in the day and I would have overheard her conversation she would be on her way home now.  Desk cleaned out and the whole deal.  They come after your business but when you have a problem along the way they do nothing but throw up road blocks to make it difficult.  I suspect it is to get the house back on a quick sale or reposession type situation and make more money than they would if the rate reduction I requested was granted.  I have never been late for a mortgage payment and still am current.  I had savings, IRA and a Roth IRA with them at one time and am treated like someone they had to step over sleeping on the sidewalk outside their office.

Received a call from 804-291-0001 and can see that this number is used by multiple outfits.

I received a call from this number and it was SunTrust Mortgage.  They needed my new mailing address to send me my escrow check.

I just received a very similar call and gave the guy no information as it was VERY SUSPICIOUS.  He wanted information from me that I know they already have in their system.  I told him to look it up and he just sat their quietly and then hung up.

He was VERY Unprofessional and I knew immediately it wasn't SunTrust.  Some people on here are saying it is... but it definitely is not.  I have always called back numbers from SunTrust and it goes right back into their system.  This number is nothing but a busy signal.  

I've looked into the number extensively... also with SunTrust... don't believe what other people say... it is not SunTrust.

I received a call from this number, they DID leave a message and it was for a confirmation of an auto loan I had applied for.    I had a Fraud Alert on my credit report, so they had to call to confirm I was actually applying for the loan.   This was a legitimate call in my case.

They are actually not nice when they call but it is in fact Suntrust Collection and Short Sale Department. You cannot call the number back because its an outgoing number only. We are dealing with them on and off and never understand why they are rude to people who want to help them solving their crisis. Yeah, it's SunTrust. They give you an 855 toll free number to call and it ends up being their Default Client Resolution Dept.

They called my phone twice today. I don't have any motgag issues but I did have a credit card in the past that i defaulted on. could this be the same department that does the calling to try and collect?

You seem to know alot about how the law works for these kinds of issues.

my mom works in the mortgage department of suntrust.  i can vouch that this is legit (i forgot who the number was though so i had to look it up). D'oh!
