Received a call on 8/29 from 805-580-5210 on my cell phone...no message.  Received a call from 206-445-6114 on 9/13...no message.  This needs to stop!!!

I am in New Jersey and CONSTANTLY getting these calls and I'm on the do not call list. It appears most of the calls are coming from out of state, many using disposable google voice numbers and other ways to avoid retribution.

It seems nobody obeys the do not call list and submitting complaints to the ftc daily doesn't seem to do any good either. Forget it if you have a business, they become total smart a***s telling you "what do you mean do not call list, just so you know it doesn't apply to calling business numbers".

I think I will just start putting these people on hold and leaving them there until they hang up costing them time and we know time is money so screw them.

Deregulated energy can save you money on your electric bill but it doesn't seem to be regulated very well allowing everyone and their mother to resell it.

I'm a reseller of electric as well but I don't push it on anyone or make cold calls, I just post every now and then on facebook and have fliers in my place of business with my link www.powerswitchsavings.com and when people switch I make a small amount of money but I don't tie people into contracts at all which most of them seem to be doing. They also play games with the charges on the bills so that its difficult to figure out how much you're paying if their rates go up and they often have cancellation fees if you decide to switch before your contract is up.

I switched and became a customer here www.powerswitchsavings.com and switched my parents, brother, family and friends and earn a small amount when they switch providers, they save on their bill, the electric company will also make a donation every month to charity depending on the usage will determine how much.

I hate these constant calls and the high pressure push by unscrupulous wanna be get rich quick salespeople. The FTC should start doing something about this.

Caller ID says just ELECTRICITY 253-753-9041 and the call is an automated solicitation to switch electric providers talking about deregulation. We're on the do not call list.

In the past couple of weeks I've gotten these calls daily and in increasing numbers (it's up to five this morning with the last two in minutes of each other). They're from different numbers and area codes and with some variation in caller-ID title ("discount center" "power bill" "power company" etc).

I also live in NJ and received 3 calls on my cell yesterday from this number.  It says "northern Los Angeles Area" and I don't pick up because I know it is a scam.  I am registered on the do not call list but as people have stated above they don't care.  I will try to report as well to see if it stops.  Thanks for sharing everyone, confirms my suspicions.

I am in NJ and got these calls two days in a row on my cell phone.

I have been receiving  calls from 805-580-5210.  At least twice a day on my cell. phone.  I am listed on the do not call register but it is not helping.  No one seems to be on when I tried to take the call.  I am now ignoring it.  Very Annoying.   I am also getting calls on my home phone that comes up unknown and has no number coming up on my caller ID.    I live in Essex County,NJ

We are on the do not call list and we have told these people not to call because my mother has stage 4 cancer and they are bothering her. They call several times a day!

I got one from Washington this morning and one from Northern Los Angeles Area just now. So annoying

I just blocked the same number and 10 mins later i get a call from this number. This is insane

I blocked 2064456113 (electric company) and now they are calling from 8055805210.

Was called 2x on March 1, but they didn't leave any message. When I called back, recording said if I didn't want to receive any more calls and wanted to be removed from their "special promotion", I should press 1. We'll see what happens.

Scam Artists at work...

Received calls from this number several times.  I am in Illinois.  I refuse to answer if the number is not familiar to me.  They never leave a message. It doesn't bother me; I just file a complaint with the FTC Do Not Call.

NEVER GIVE THEM YOUR INFO!!!!! They will rob you blind! This is a fake business claiming they can save you money on your electricity or gas bill. If you have a caller ID, you will see they're also calling from a cel phone. They also don't conform to the government "Do Not Call" laws.Top these facts with that they ask for peronal info and theres no doubt these are crooks. Don't bother hitting the #3 to stop further calls. They'll keep calling.

I am getting these phone calls as well. I have not answered but they called twice today... says from Northern Los Angeles Area.. very frustrating.

SAVING ON LIGHT BILLS

I am starting to receive these calls daily....very frustrating as they are calling my cell #.
Name does not show up on caller ID - just the number they are calling from....

I received the same call yesterday on my cell and I answered thinking it was a friend of mine I was waiting for.
I played the game and got to a live agent who claimed the company she works for is called Electricity Savings Center.
As is stated above their pitch is about recent energy deregulation and saving money on electricity.
I asked the agent to place me on their Do Not Call list and she politely agreed. We'll see.
I will still file with the FTC and FCC to register a complaint for unsolicited telemarketing

Report them to the do not call registry and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in CA. I've done this and the calls stopped.

This is a scammer with a recorded message, cold-calling home and cell phones, even if you're on the do not call registry.  They want to sell you an electric service contract.  "Press 3 if you are not interested in lowering you monthly bill, or press 5 to be transferred to an agent."  Yeah, right.  Just hang up and report it at https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
