I received one of many calls in the last 2 months, they are VERY persistent, from a Michael from Windows. Michael, who's Indian or Pakistani accent is so heavy I barely understand him, tells me that Microsoft has subcontracted tech service to Windows, I was always of the understanding that Windows was an Operating System not a company division, further that my telling me the reason for his call is to alert me and show me on my computer that the computer is sending in error messages. I asked what are the error messages? He says that he doesn't know but, if I log on to my computer, follow his instructions, he can show me. I asked, How do I know you are from Windows? He then says, " I can transfer you to a Microsoft Certified Technician." I then said, "If you have my phone number you also have my address therefore, you should send me written notification via USPS with your name, the reason for the contact, a phone number where, I can call YOU." He then hung-up. Five minutes later I get two more calls from 807-658-7904, when I answer, there is silence on the other end. Obviously, this is one of the many scams we now must endure as a result of Microsoft being greedy. Too bad when you have a product that finally works they can not just add separate OS's for various computer products and cell phones. Ah... Ya gotta love planned obsolescence!

He gets on and says we recieved a message from your computer that there is a problem.
He tells you to push the windows button and the R key. I told him to go f**** himself.

Called for the about 20th time (each time I asked to be put on their do not call list), they claimed to be Microsoft certified technicians and wanted access to my computer, because it was causing mainframe errors. When I told hime that he was incorrect and my computer was not causing any errors anywhere. He again said he was a Microsoft certified technician and that is when I informed him that I was an Electrical Engineer and also a Computer Science degree and KNEW my computer was not causing any errors. I told him that he needed to put me on his do not call list! That is when he got nasty and started cussing at me.

This number calls me every afternoon and then at least once at night after I'm home from work. This has been going on for over a week now...starting to p*** me off! I never answer though and I'm glad I don't because either way it's a scam artist I'm sure from the looks of everyone else's post!

I recieved a call from this caller. First i explained that those errors did not make any sense as i am a certified computer repair specialist, then wehn he threatened that he was required to disable my operating system i asked if he would elevate my call to a supervisor and he said no. He said his supervisor was on leave with a broken hand, and that he could not transfer me to anyone else. i called b***s***, told him i thing he was a scam artist, and he said "f*** you, I'll call NYPD on your stupid a**. Take your certification and your education and shove it up your a**."
I hung up there.
I've worked as a phone operator before, and I know for an absolute fact, that no matter how frustrated the customer gets (and they often get frustrated) you never yell or swear back at them.

Had someone called from this number a few times. The first time, he said he worked for Microsoft Support and he called because I had too many errors reports from their data system. It wasn't false, I did. However, I highly doubt that someone from Microsoft headquarters would call to fix the problem. The errors reports were collected, and analyzed at their facilities as data and information, so they can fix the problem for future products. After the first time, I just blocked the number.

Caller with an Indian accent called several times from a number labeled 'Ontario'. Man claimed to be a Microsoft rep who was going to show me all the PC errors that Microsoft was receiving from my computer. He told me to hit Microsoft Key + the 'r', and it brought up a window. He then said to type the letters 'eventewr' into the block on that window. It immediately asked "Do you want to allow changes to my computer? Yes - No". I challenged this, and since I did not want to allow anyone access to my computer, I hung up the phone, and got out of that window. I suspect a scam of someone trying to get control of my computer.

Called say they were from Microsoft - calling to alert me that peter had hacked my computer. If I paid them $199.99 AUD - to an Australian Bank with my credit card number they could fix everything. THIS IS A SCAM - BEWARE - I did not fall for it.

Rep named Jim Anderson (Indian Accent) claims he was from a company called TecWorld for people using Microsoft operating systems. Told me he is getting too many errors in Microsoft, and they needed to fix the problem. Then they had me push the 'windows' key on my keypad, and the letter "R". That brought up a small window that he had me type 'eventvwr'. That showed my errors. Then he had me type in www.teamviewer.com, and i did it downloaded to my pc. But when I saw it was software to allow someone to remote in I immediately deleted this file (never ran it) and told Jim I needed to go but would contact him later and got his number as 206-376-4772 (even though my caller ID showed 807-658-7904). I hung up and called the 206 # and got an Indian man's recording saying all TecWorld reps are busy.
