Just saw your message Countrygirl. Thats the same number that called me. So they are debt collectors. Thank you for the information.

I received a phone message left by a Thomas Sullivan saying he is from the State processors office and that I was going to be served with a summons at my place of employment. He left a phone number for me to call 877-839-4838 Ext. 101. I called and it was the number for a Brian Stevens from Jacobson and Matthews. That I know off since I just requested my credit report there is no one I owe so much money that could sue me, but i called to investigate and refer them to my attorney.
Is this a scam. I think I'll just them serve me.

Clearly you work for them or you wouldn't even know about this message board. I have issues with anyone who approaches me with a lie. Obviously this company is so bad their sales people have to swindle customers into using their services.

I've received 3 calls already from a Laura Erwin who said there was a lawsuit against my company (which is untrue) and that I should contact her right away. I am ignoring them, will contact the FCC to report their tactics and hope everyone else will do do the same.

Another post said that this business was in business for 7 years, not 20. Something is not matching up.

The company Emerge 180 Inc has been in existence, according to the Florida Secretary of State, since 1/5/2009. That is when the Amendment and Name Change was filed from the previous name, J.D. Field & Associates, Inc. The original company was incorporated on 7/10/2006. The sole officer and registered agent for both corporations is Jonathan D. Field, and has been since the incorporation in 2006. It doesn't look to me like it's been around for 20 years, or that it changed ownership at all.

The Emerge180 company provided professional and knowledgeable assistance with a vendor which would not arbitrate directly with us. We believe that they are a very valuable asset when you need their type of services. For the amount of money we paid them, we saved thousands in attorney charges. This company can talk to your vendors (or whomever you are having settlement problem), when they stop talking to you.
If you had issues with them, maybe the problem was with the type of service you needed. There is not a company out there that can solve every problem, no matter what industry. It never hurts to talk to people on the phone. You always have the oppurtunity to decide for yourself. Use it!

I did check out the BBB website. If the company has been in business for 20 years, why has it only been accredited since 6/13/2008? According to the BBB website, the company was found in 1993, the BBB file was opened in 1999, and apparently there was a new owner in May of 2007.
The truth 2012-05-27 17:01:24 Unknown
Obviously you didnt watch the big BBB expose where the news exposed how they sell A ratings. All an A shows is that these scammers are trying to buy an air of credibility from a source as corrupt as tjey are.
whistle blower 2012-05-27 16:00:00 Telemarketer
Previous message must be from the owner. You really do have to be an a****ole to call people that have just been sued. They make a ton of money off law suits. Try to work it out yourself, if not, call a more reputable debt settlement company. Every one knows the BBB is a scam too!
TIRED 2012-05-09 22:59:02 Unknown
Some of these stories are laughable. This company has been in business 20 years and is an accredited A+ rating with the BBB. But I guess you would say that is a scam also. You people who huddle in 1-800 notes making up stories about businesses being scams just because they sell by phone need to stop being so ignorant. I have posted the link to the BBB below and I would like one of you geniuses to explain how a business that has been around 20 years and is accredited and has a A+ rating with the BBB can be a scam. For those of you who are called and read this thread please go to the BBB link below and learn about the company. How many financial companies out there have A+ rating with the BBB these days, not many.

Its obvious some of you are are making your stories a little more colorful then they actually were at the time you were called. This company has helped a tremendous amount of people over the years and shouldn't be slandered because they offer their services by phone.

We can add Anthony Perez to the list of names from emerge 180. One of my employees got a call from them because he was in a car accident and we're being sued. The fact that we have insurance and the insurance company has been working on it i told the guy to lose my number and eat s***. I don't like predators...and they do find suckers because this number has been getting comments for at least 2 years! The longer I can keep them on the phone the less chance they have to get someone to agree to their terms.

Received a phone voice message "Hello this is Janet with Emerge 180. This message is for the business owner. I'm calling to help your company concerning a financial matter regarding XXX. I'd like to help your business save some money and get this matter stopped."

my mother in law got a call from a guy named Brian Steven who's looking for me. he said he is a paralegal and will sue me for a loan that I didn't pay. i told him we will file for a police report because i did not owe anything. he said he will mail me a document for a police report purposes. i gave him my mother in law's address. he said he's from new york and gave me their law firm address. i don't know about this.
furious me...

I received a call this morning from a Brian Stevens pretty much saying the same thing as everyone else here. It was a different phone number:8778394838. I have received nothing in writing from them which tells me it's a sham.
amie 2011-09-15 20:37:45 Unknown
we just got a call from them and they are saying we got a lwsuit against us but we've never heard a thing about it before that.

I called this number back and reached Mr. Scofield. he told me Jacobs and Mathews was an arbitration firm and was calling me with a settlement proposal to settle a lawsuit that I was never aware of. It was an old collection matter that I was never served with, and would never had known about if not for the phone call. Even though the company is in Florida he seemed very sincere, and it looks like we are going to indeed reach a settlement
Suspicious 2011-06-06 20:59:24 Unknown
James Scofield---of Jacobs and Mathews or jacobsen mathews called, left three consecutive messages regarding a "settlement" matter that I have no awareness of. It sounded fishy---I googled both mathews and the firm with no real definative results. the 813 is a tampa NXX. i will talk with him tomorrow and will post results

This number is obviously bogus, as is the writeup above. Why? Because they still run a "legal matter" scam, however I do NOT have any outstanding legal matters because I have no business. SO, the "oh, it is all alright" above is more than fishy. If I were you, dear reader, I'd stay clear from calling the scammer in question.

Got a call from a woman at Emerge180 at 813-341-0509 today saying she could settle a judgment against us for 60% of the amount including their fee. Told her the other party wouldn't go for it and we are appealing so not paying anything. She seemed pleasant enough but not sure where she got the info from. Glad you all wrote on this website. With all the scammers out there, wouldn't have done it anyways. Thanks everyone.

While they were supposingly negotiating with the FDIC on an Avanta Business line of credit, which we refused to pay at 40% interes t(not a typo) inlieu of a 600.00 dollars fee and 1% of the settlement price. Helen and her associates claim FDIC went behind their backs and garnished the Business account for 10K. I think it's all BS . emerge works with the loan co and for the loan co, in this case the gov't meanwhile collecting fees from their so called clients. Stay away from Emerge 180. crooks, leeches.

Sounds like you must work for the company! Isn't that against your company policy to get on here and put your 2 cents in?

Marty Saaz left two messages on our answering machine regarding a "legal matter". He said that a company named "Century Tower" had filed a lawsuit against us for $4028, and that he could help settle this out of court for about half of the amount, and gave a reference case number of #32-207. He said up front on the message that he was with Emerge180 and his phone number was 813-341-0516. I could hear others talking on the phone in the background.
This is questionable (as others have stated) because our company he is refering to has been out of business for about 17 years, and I can find no record of a company called "Century Tower" (Century Towers is a residential condo sales office in Chicago and New York). Dont know why a condo realtor would file a lawsuit against a defunct childrens' party service.

Janet Haas w/ Emerge180 called, today regarding "a legal matter" insisting she must speak with the owner of the company. Upon hearing the call center atmosphere in the background, I doubted very much she was with any sort of legal company. She became very agitated and rude when I refused to transfer her call. I laughed at her after getting the name of the company wrong and she wanted to know why I was wasting her time. She became very rude and agitated before she hung up on me. Hahahaha
