this guy is trying to buy a car from me saying that the only way he will buy it is if i set up a pay pal acount he useing the name david gray. ive found that this pay pal scam is a big thing ive been hit with three pay pal scams and they have crashed my computer twice with viruses.

I have gotten these same calls but the call back number is 646-291-2986.  However, all of the names, scenarios and verbage the guy uses are the same.  Exactly the same.  I thought it was a scam when he said I have 3 criminal charges against me and my SSN due to not paying a pay day loan.  I have never been in trouble with the law.  The guy, David Jones, has a very heavy middle eastern accent and I am supposed to call some guy Norman, could not understand what his last name is on the voice message.  At the end of the message he repeated my full SSN twice, something else I do not think a legitmate attorney would do.  Be ware,

Unfortunely, I fell for the scam! Lost $450.00 approximately. I got all the same info, & he threatehed to call Social Security to have my disability checks stopped cause I couldn't use them in jail. I also got his email name as ericforester@lawyer.com. I am now fighting GE Money(Waimart Money Card) to try to get my money back when I found out about the scam--E Tree Marketing PVT--INDIA!
Also a David Jones from law office of Harvard & Fletcher. He was also the State Attorney Services & his email was david.jones@lawyer.com. Sounds like a little too much Indian to me.

Received this call but did not recognize the number on my Call Display so I did not answer it. All I can say is I am glad I didn't!!  How do these people get my number is perplexing. I sincerely hope people who do end up talking to these crooks don't fall into their trap. What a sick world we live in.

Got a call from this number today, trying to get me to release information about my computer. Apparently they've been "tracking" my computer viruses and I have a trojan horse in it. So they wanted me to go to Windows and open a Run window by pushing Windows-R.

Thing is.. I have a Mac. Always have, I won't run a PC with MicroSloth Windoze because of all the viruses out there. So, now I know it's a scammer.

I strung her along for a few minutes, telling her I didn't understand. Then she called her supervisor, so I held for another minute (it's their long distance bill.. I don't care). Then he tried to help me, even asked me to look between the control key and the alt key (where a Windows key would be, on a PC), but the Mac has a Command/Apple key on the right side of the option/alt key. So they couldn't understand why I couldn't find it!! Ha ha... I was having a hard time holding back my laughter.

15 minutes later, he finally asks me what operating system I am running. I said I don't know, but it's a Mac. He sounded dumbfounded. An Apple? Oh, sorry sir (with Indian accent), I am mistaken I was told you Mr. Lenko have a PC running Windows. Wrong-O, guy.

Then I told him what I thought of him, and hung up. I'll be reporting the number to the police and our local Block Watch committee.

Have been getting calls from these people as well, before it was from a different number, but still sounds like the same guy. Since I already looked up the other # and saw it was a scam I knew this was the same deal because he used almost the same words. claimed to be from the states attorney's office (really? You can barely speak english) Being that I had just recently been in contact with my states attorney's off on an entirely different legal matter, I knew this wasn't the case. After he threatened me about court and how I owed money, how the police would be coming to arrest me ect I informed him that I had just spoken to my states the previous day and had heard nothing of this, as well as the fact that I was in frequent contact with the police who were already monitoring my phone and if they were going through all this trouble to keep me safe i'm more than sure they would have informed me they were on the way to arrest me. I told him to have a good day and hung up. I think the fact that I was in contact with the police may have scared him a bit because he called twice more back to back when I wouldn't answer, then the calls stopped completely.

I received two calls todays with this scam. I will report it to the federal trade commision.

He kept telling me that he wanted the money & a letter sent to him by fax or e-mail immediately or the police would be out to my house in the morning to take me to jail. He would notify disability to let them know that I was being arrested for fraud, money laundrying, etc. Unfortu
nely, he has gotten money off me twice. But Sam, Richard, Dexter, etc. you will not get any more.

They left messages on home and also called my work. Manager said he will report them if they call again. Anyway he said his name was Thomas Williams. Trying to reach me about something very important matter and that he cannot leave any information about it on my messaging system due to the severity of this situation. If he does not hear from me by the end of the day then my agent attorney to call to them. He said immediate will be taken against me and that he will wish me very good luck. Said to call him back at his desk at 949 2040 993 doesn't even say it like someone who has given a US phone number before. I may call them to see if I can get a business address or to have them send me the information by mail if not I will report them to my attorney general of my state , South Dakota who gave this alert about these type of scams.

I just recent got I call from a man telling me that i owe a pay day loan that i don't have and he told me that the officer is coming to my job and i might be arrested and i told him that nobody get arrested for own a pay day loan he get mad and i told him to send me the paper work if this was the case.he get mad a hang up the phone

I just receive call from work, thank god I check online and I don't ever brother to listen to the message because it will freak me out. I got one likes two weeks ago, and he was going to call the cops on me in 30 min but I am still here, so what a SCAM!

I jsut rec'd the same call almost word for word and this person also called my workplace which is most concerning.  I am going to call back and let him know I'm on to him. Not sure it will help. Not sure who to report it to either?  Anyone else have a suggestion?

they called me at work and will not stop at all.. they are harassing me and this has got to stop immediately!!!!

Suggest, when you do make your payment, maybe you should use a money order, and take/mail/etc it directly where you were supposed to.  You then have proof it was paid and no one has your banking info.  Obviously your info got to them from the payday loan site, or they wouldn't have so much specific infor available.  
Kind of wonder if these payday loan groups are running these scams, you know?  Because it seems that everyone that applies gets scammed whether or not they ever complete the loan and get the dinero.  And, those that do finalize and get the money get attempted extortion for more, after they've paid.  Oh well, good luck.

I just got the call from the 949-204-0993, claiming that Instant Cash is prosecuting me for a defaulted loan. I took a loan out for $376 and the due date is on the 21st this month. I haven't made my payment yet, and this guy named "JAMES WHITE" (with a heavily duty Middle Eastern accent) said that if I paid them $512.23 immediately, this will go away. Well, I did some research on the good ol' Instant Cash and found out the complaints that are similar to mine. So, while on the phone with them, they connected me to "Norman" who was supposed to take all of my info. I was smart because I finally stood up and said, "THIS IS A SCAM!" Of course, they're saying, its not a scam if the police takes me away. I scream, "Listen you scamming middle eastern [removed] if you dare call my house and threaten me again, I will sue YOU!" and hung up the phone, now blocking their number when ever they try to call me. I'm almost fell for it because they knew my social, bank routing, and address numbers, but I'm so glad that I caught it in the nick of time before they screwed me over.

I got a phone call about a half hour ago with a man asking for me. Im at work but i pick up & i say hello. The man says, Is this Prechus, What is wrong with you? You have a case against you someone is suing you and they will come to your house tommorrow. I said wait hold up what? I have a case against me and someone is going to come to my house? He told me address and last four of my social. I asked him what is this about ? He says he will transfer me to his supervisior. I say hi to the super and he sounds like he has english under his belt. I ask him what this is about he says he has to read an affadavit and not to interrupt. I told him i was at work and i didnt have time, just tell me what this is all about. he notifies me i am being recorded. i say you are being recorded too. So i ask him how long is it going to take to read the letter. he says ten minutes lol. I say i dont have that kind of time i already been on the phone for 6minutes. He hung up the phone. So i checked the number on here on my work computer and i am seeing all of this. I am still going to take all my money out my account and leave town tommorrow but i think i will be okay lol. I am so reporting this.

have been receiving calls from this number 949-204-0993 and 888-678-2999 and 866-321-4187. All foreign accents. This time he said his name was James Morgan and Victor McFarran and he was from Carlsbad CA. And yes this was a Federal Fraud investigation and I would be arrested. I have notified my state AG office and the State FBI office and they have called my p[lace of employment. I was also told to get all the information you could worm out of these people before you go off on them.  Report the numbers and names to your AG and State Fraud team.

Yes I got the same call today on my cell and they also have my address and account number. I just called the police department and they made a report. He wanted me to give him my credit card number and license number.

I agree, just got the same phone call.. and the funny thing is i filed for bankruptcy and this info is not even listed on my credit...

I just got a call from this number claiming the same thing from everyone..Beware,.. this is a real SCAM good thing i googled the number and found all these reviews. Thank goodness that im not the only one.

I call this number back every night now and and curse the guy out is a lot of fun i suggest you all do the same see if thay like it

These people are not even in the US. they use a contract line threw magic jack so they set their number as a US number. So beware of your phone bill as well because some phone company's will charge you for an international call.

Just got a nasty threating message from these people telling me that I need a lawyer and if I dont get one wishing me the best of luck. Stating that I owe over $8000 in legal fee's on top of a loan that I never got. Called the number back and a lady answered telling me I need to show up in court on Thursday and owe over $8000. Stupid me did apply for a loan but it wasn't with American loan company and it was only two weeks ago. I told the lady she needs to mail me something she refused told me I would be served with papers and that would be it.

Do NOT FALL FOR THIS. IT IS A SCAM. THEY R Calling from India.. Contact ur local FTC.  Its a shame these people r untouchable because they are not in the _US. Otherwise a classaction susuite will shut them up...

They keep calling my bussiness phone.  which clearly states my bussiness name ..  I have never used my real name on this line .....  if I owe then a debt  then they should be calling my home phone .

Yes they have been calling me too! They just called me today and said that I needed to be in California Monday for court when the loan company told me it was a SCHEME..THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES!

I recieved a call from this number 5 times leaving message on from arrest warrents to legal matters. Since being a bail bond agent I also investigated this number and called to try to get a trace. The person could not give any information so lol I cant wait for the athorities to close in on him with a mid eastern accent.

I received a call from these ignorant people!! Saying something about a loan, which they couldn't tell me about! Then, start asking me to verify my last 4 of ssn and dob!! I ask to spk with a manager that can speak good english, they hung up!! I call back and they told me I will be getting lock up for 30 days and to have a lawyer ready, then hung up again!! I callback again in someone name Norman try tochange his voice and start laughing. I ask for the company name, he said its a law firm in california, google us and hung up!! I want to know how can I go about reporting them, and to whom I should reprt them to??

I received two calls today while at work today from this number, with voice messages stating that I needed to call them back. Said his name was Victor Mcfarland the second voicemail I received was very threatening stating that if myself or my lawyer did not call him today he would be sending someone to my job and cause trouble at my job. I work in a call center and so I got off the phone and went to call him to find out what this is about. When I called him he told me that he had a legal document that he needed to read to me. I told him I am in a hurry I am not supposed to be out of the office right now and I risk getting fired. He got very angry and said fine if you are in a rush then hang up and he will send someone to my job on monday to arrest me. I told him Id call a lawyer and hung up. After work I called him back to find out what this was about. He said I owed $8,000 to an online loan company called instacash and that if I did not work something out I would be taken to court and spend 30 days or more in jail for an unpaid loan and check fraud. At first I was worried about it but as I calmed down from fighting with him and thought about it. He has a thick accent I could barely understand did not speak as someone working with a lawfirm would and also I feel stupid about this but I did work for a bank and Know you dont spend jail time for unpaid loans and check fraud???? An unpaid online loan is not check fraud... but it is good to know that im not alone and able to reaffirm that its a scam... I personally will be reporting this number every where I can and calling law enforcement to report the number.

I got this call as well.  I knew it was bunk.  I called back to tell them they had the wrong person.  I had a hard time understanding the guy's accent.  He sounded confused.  I ended up getting more calls from him this evening.  He hammer-calls (as I put it), meaning if I don't pick up he calls again immediately.  I typically never answer calls from numbers not in my phone - if it's important I'll get voicemail.

It's really too bad there are people like this looking to scam others.

The name I was given was Tom Nelson.

All I could get out of the call was that there would be attorneys involved.  I don't recall anything be said about paying a debt, but it was clear that I was in trouble or something.  I hope no one buys into this.

As others have said, I'm glad to have found this, just as a reassurance if anything, that it's a scam.
