I've been getting calls from 'Business through Government' and from my research I can see that it is a real company providing a real service, but the way they qualify a contractor over the phone for a "consultation" meeting reeks of heavy handed sales on a time share "opportunity" level.

Before I became a contactor, I was in sales for 15 years and I've seen it all.  When someone tells me I'm a perfect fit for government contracts in my town (which I really doubt has federal contracts to offer), it raises all  kinds of red flags.  It reminds me of the guy who got me to meet with him over an incredible opportunity that would provide me with financial independance for life - that turned out to be Amway.

BTG, requires you to drive to them (an hour drive for me) and sit in a face to face meething which is their way to bring in the closer during a sales pitch that will ask you to put up $$ to become part of their network for government jobs.  This is a service to help you with the stacks of paperwork and qualifications required by government contracts.  I'm not saying there aren't government jobs out there and it doesn't require know how, but this is not a service that many will benefit from in my opinion.  Buyer beware - if you've got nothing to do and are holding onto a contractors license then you have nothing to  lose - go ahead and check it out.  If they're asking for thousands $$ or even hundreds up front and 5% from your winning bids, then I would suggest you run from them and don't look back.

I just want to say this. I worked for GSA Preview. And unlike the scum still working there, I will post the truth. I was told by a supervisor in my company to IGNORE the complaints of a sobbing woman whose money was taken from her. Vincent Urso told me to have that woman call Customer Service. It wasn't his problem. In my stint there, I watched countless people give their money away to what they thought would be a good investment. Wrong. GSA Preview (currently GSA Application Services) has had several name changes for a reason. You start to build a certain reputation and it doesn't look good. My biggest regret (which I do not have many) is leaving the job I had to work for that piece of garbage company. I do not believe in preying on the weak and that is ALL this company does!!! The only advice I can give to anyone in this world, is avoid this company. Do not work for them and do not let them work for you. They are bottom of the barrel and will stop at nothing to make sure they have enough money to drive their foreign cars. Even if it means breaking other people's banks!!! What a joke!!

First of all, they can make the promises that they make because they do what they say they will. Any delays in obtaining the GSA schedule is usually due to the business owner not getting the required information to the company in a timely fashion. GSA does not promise to get you work for the Government, they promise to help with all the necessary paperwork needed and submit your GSA application. Did it ever occur to any of you people, that a large percentage of these negative comments, may be from employees that worked for the company previously and who's employment may not have ended on a good note? I think that it is a shame that many small businesses will miss out on the opportunity to work with a great company that does deliver what they say.

This is simply not the case, the money is long gone... It has been exported to Canada, Morocco, Virgin Islands... etc.... They are now simply moving their scams more to their SC offices because the AG has just started action against them their. The plan is to run this as long as they can tie it up in court until Sprecher, Bertsch, Collins etc, can make a clean get away with the money. They habitually do not complete work they promise, embezzle money and tear at the fabric of America's economy. This is an ongoing criminal enterprise that will be charged under the RICO Act, but those investigations take time.

GSA application services, GSA tampa, pittsburgh, dallas or greenville being investigated
Yes, the Florida Attorney General is investigating them and you may find out for yourself by contacting him below. They have bilked thousands (at least $7500) of already suffering small businesses out of money yet never completed the GSA Applications they claimed they would. The Attorney General states they should be calling many of us small businesses to offer refunds. Please contact the AG to log your complaint. His information is below. Please contact the Florida Attorney General to log your complaint if you paid $7500 or whatever they are now charging and never received any service.

Contact the AG at: Bob Mahlburg

Robert.Mahlburg@myfloridalegal.com

The link to the investigation is here:

http://www.myfloridalegal.com/lit_ec.nsf/inve ... 52577C000686367

He is actively investigating this company that now goes by a slew of names: GSA Application Services, Tampa Bay GSA.com, AccessingGSA.com, TargetGSA.com, GSAGreenville.com, Federal Suppliers Guide. Everything I have stated is true and can be confirmed with the Attorney General in Florida: Robert.Mahlburg@myfloridalegal.com or 813-287-7950

The other names (there are others I don't know about) they go by are:
GSA Application Services, Tampa Bay GSA.com, AccessingGSA.com, TargetGSA.com, GSAGreenville.com, Federal Suppliers Guide

They have a habit of contacting any posts to indicate the information posted is not true but all the company (yahoo or whomever has to do is contact the AG themselves as the info is posted above to see that this is true and that this info is helping other small businesses not lose money like those of us who have already suffered as a small business by GSA Application Services or their other many other names).

I have called you, and it is quite difficult to get a hold of you Joe. I'm simply trying to get your company to stop calling my company. I have no interest in your products. You company, under the various names it operates, is not even capable of operating a do not call list. I question your ability to do much beyond agressively annoying potential customers. I have spent 2 years trying to get your company to simply leave us alone.

I hear the same story over and over. I worked for one of these places that would have you believe that eveything would be rosey and the money would just fall from the sky. It is true that a small business can increase revenue streams through a GSA schedule but it does take some work and dedication from the business owner. True also is that the numbers don't lie!!! It also takes the right contacts and partnerships to ensure success just as in any commercial venture. BE AWARE !!! DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THE COMPANY THAT IS CALLING AND RUN FROM PROMISES OF EASY MONEY AND ANY INSTANT GUARENTEE.

This company is a joke, they change their name every 3 months because of bad press. they hire convicted felons to take your credit card #'s. I was told that if one of their employees don't show up for work that day that they check the jail website to see if they are in jail.
Their best employee is Ronald D Getz, Great salesman however convicted felon.. Financial fraud, DUI, Drugs ETC.. His record goes on and on.. Look Him up in the state of florida, it's crazy!!!!

This company is a mess go somewhere else if you need GSA help.. hang up on this guy if you hear from him.

We were called from this number by Ellen Stanton, extension 1349, of GSA Preview asking for the company president by name.

Promised to help get a Federal Government no-bid contract for 5 years.

Sounds like one of dozens of such scam companies wanting to take your money to help you do something which you can do for free, just go to the CCR federal vendor registration web site and start the process.

The employees of the scammer often troll forums like this one, and post positive comments to try and fix the reputation of the phone number.

We are too cheap to even pay the annual fee for a bid referral service to notify us of bids (these, like BidSync, are legitimate), and we still land plenty of government orders.

Buyer beware!

You are so mis-informed!!!   You think registering for your CCR gets you all the government business you want?  You are only scratching the service with getting prepared to do government business.  I love reading these sites where people like yourself sound off like experts and accuse companies of being scams when you have no idea what these companies do or what their true business track record has been.  Then, someone does write something positive about a company, it is dismissed by others because they did not identify themselves in some way.... Ok well, all of you who have something to negative to say,,, why don't you start leaving your real name, e-mail address and phone number?  There are twenty nine million or more businesses in the USA,,, hundreds of thousands of companies interested in doing business with the federal government... but there are only about 18,000 plus GSA Schedule contract holders to date ...  So, for all of you so called "experts" here, do the math!!!  If it was so easy to obtain a GSA schedule contract, then why are so few companies on the GSA today???? One last comment, if you think getting a GSA contract secures you business, wrong again !!!  You better align yourself with a good firm, one who has marketing and advertising experience, as this is the next step to being successful.   If you are not using a firm who has expertise in this area, then you wasted all that time getting a GSA contract.   For those of you who have no idea what you are talking about, go waste your time doing something you think you know....

I tried to get a GSA on my own and was denied twice with no reason from the federal government. GSA Preview is not a scam. They had my GSA Schedule in about 120 days and it was worth every penny to my company. We are currently doing over $500,000 dollars worth of government work on our GSA now. Thank you GSA Preview. Whoever is posting these horrible things about this company just know that any angry client can also post anything they want about your company too. I think it's a low blow from cheap businesses.

Real complaint?  You just have you lawyer swing into action with "real complaints".  Bottom line?  You promise a service, get your money, never follow through and then want more money for to complete a job that was never started to begin with.  You're a bunch of con artists.
