This company keeps calling me.. I am tired of them and i dont know what to do. I am going to file a complaint to do not call center. hopefully they will do something

The company is called Great Escapes. Haven't answered their calls, but they didn't start calling until a few days after I put my number on the do not call registry...seems fishy to me. I finally called them back and asked them to take me off of their list. We'll see!

This number keeps calling me like 10 times a day sometimes more depending on the day. It is driving me insane! I've broke 2 phone already because of it.
Mitch 2011-06-06 20:59:29 Unknown
These people call 3-5 times every day for the last 2 weeks... We don't answer them anymore and file a complaint with both the Colorado and National do not call sites.
amy lee 2008-04-25 20:29:37 Unknown
These people call three to four times daily. We only just activated our phone number in January and we only got it because I needed it for work. We have never given it out to anyone except family. I don't understand why they keep calling - I never answer!

Got a call on April 18, 2008 from this number. No voicemail left.

I have just learned that Advantage Travel LC also does business under the following company names:
Advantage Resort Marketing LLC
Adventure Advantage Vacation Travel Club
Great Escape Travel Club
Great Escapes Vacation Club
They call me too.

Harassment.

This number calls my cell enough to bother me even though I have it set so that it does not ring for people in my contact list. I have never spoken with anyone, and they are always closed when I call them, but I will try during the day to speak with a supervisor and ask to be removed from the list.
madatthem 2008-03-13 23:17:49 Telemarketer
DO NOT ANSWER and they will stop after 4-5 times....I agree with earlier rating...they are trying to verify if it is an active phone #....no violation on their part if they say nothing.....makes me greatful for the job I have!
donquijote 2008-03-05 04:20:07 Unknown
I never answer but I know it is a scam. I get called every night.
Seana 2008-02-21 16:36:57 Unknown
Keep getting calls from this number. I haven't filled out any cards to win prizes because I did years ago and had to change my number due to all the calls. I did put myself on the Do Not Call Registry, but I am told it takes about a month to go into effect. I am going to try calling the number back and get that extenstion. I just let the phone ring when I don't recognize the number and they never leave a message.
Thank you! 2008-01-26 03:54:54 Unknown
That is great advice, I will do that;)
Frustrated 2008-01-26 03:53:49 Unknown
What is weird is I never fill those out. I still get calls after calls for months now.. I guess I will just deal with it
frustrated 2008-01-26 03:51:54 Unknown
These people call me 3x a day if not more. I am sick of them calling and when I call the number back the line is busy. I guess I will just keep getting calls from them? Anyone have any advice on what to do to get them to stop calling?
Bowen 2008-01-15 05:01:19 Unknown
I too have been receiving many calls from this number and hanging up after I answer...

Wife actually had a live person on the line and asked that our name be removed and the woman said yes. A week later we are still getting calls from the computer with no human contact. Figured out that the wife filled out a card for a something at the Denver Parade of Homes just before this started.
Also getting continuous calls from International Vacations using the same mispronunciation of our name. Also got two calls (same mispronunciation) from Grand Lodge in Breckenridge and some outfit in Vail. NEVER fill out one of those cards for anything free or a chance to will "a prize valued at $mega" unless you want your name on a list exempt from the do not call list. By voluntarily giving your name you have established a potential business relationship with that company and they can LEGALLY call you!

I hope "REMOVE" comes back to report whether the calls to them have actually stopped!
patrick 2007-11-29 23:16:18 Unknown
I reported them to the FCC. I suggest you do the same thing and report it as an abandoned call.

***Got my number removed***
I called them back at 813.996.1587, I guessed and hit ext. 209. Kate answered the phone, got my info, and said my number will be removed in 72 hourse. NICE LADY. BE KIND!!!!

I, too, have been getting these phone calls and they began right after I put my number on the National Do Not Call List. I have never been on it before and have never had any problems with telemarketers on my cell. Suddenly these guys started calling, but I never answered. I called the number back and asked to be removed from their list. I got right through and the gentleman said he would be happy to remove me. We'll see I guess.
Also, I would be curious to find out where everyone is from. I am in Denver and it looks as though there are at least a few others too.

This has been happening to us as well, and if it is purposeful, it is rather frustrating. Always hang up as soon as I say hello, and call several times a week, if not daily.
I'm not sure if we should try to call them and get taken off or if the No Call List (which we are on) will do us any good?
Bo 2007-10-03 19:45:19 Unknown
Thanks to all for the info!
Mary from Denver, CO 2007-09-29 19:08:48 Unknown
They have been calling.... Same as everyone else. Many calls, nobody there. Very annoying. I'm on the No call List as well.
Jean 2007-09-28 19:18:36 Unknown
They have called me twice a day for a week now. I answer and it always hangs up. I called them back and told a man to take me off their call list. I also told him about the system hanging up when I picked up. He said that he had never heard of that problem before and would fix it for future calls to other customers.
anon 2007-09-26 23:23:35 Unknown
I received 2 calls today (9/26/2007), and each time the caller hung up just as I answered the phone. Like some of the other posts, when I finally called back, all I got was a busy signal... for a while. When I finally reached the company, I selected the 'returning a call from a voicemail or caller-ID' option, which led to an endless hold. I called back again, reached the front desk, and was told that I had filled out a slip for something and they were merely trying to give me airfares or something. I requested that my number be removed from their list and mentioned that I was a) already on the NDNC list, and b) that I had filed complaints against them because of their repeated calls. What organization is giving these people our phone numbers?
Michelle 2007-08-28 22:10:56 Unknown
I continue to get 5 to 10 calls a week from this number which comes up on the caller ID as Advantage Travel. I am on the Colorado no call list and intend to report it. 813-996-1587

Hasn't it ever occurred to anyone that they are just calling to see if anyone answers? Why would they want to do that? TO SELL YOUR NUMBER TO OTHER TELEMARKETERS! They can charge more for confirmed numbers, that have been contacted and confirmed. They don't need to talk to you to do this. They can charge even more if they confirm a phone number and name. Why then would they call back so much?? Because they sell to many list buyers, and each company that purchases the list would want current confirmations. It still doesn't make total sense to me even, but I assume they are working some angle or loophole in the Do Not Call laws. Just guessing here, but maybe trying to establish a history or track record of having an established relationship with each number in their list to qualify it as an existing customer to get them around the do not call list as an exemption.
I am merely speculating on all of this, but I assume they are not stupid and I assume they are not recklessly spending loads of money on long distance just to hang up when someone answers. They are doing it intentionally and for a reason. I am assuming they are making money at it somehow and that somehow in my mind, is in selling your phone number to other telemarketers.

Just started getting calls from this Florida-based number in the past couple of days. I'd hate to see the phone bill for this "company," or whatever it is!! I wonder if this is a computer randomly calling numbers until it gets an answer of any kind, after which a list is compiled and sold to other telemarketing schemes. Whatever is going on, it's probably illegal, and certainly is causing unnecessary concern and harassment for a lot of good people out there!!
Heat 2007-08-15 03:59:59 Unknown
They call at least once a day.
