I kept getting a call from this # saying I would save money on my penelec bill, I looked into it and actually looked pretty good so signed up online, have been saving money ever since on my electric bill and they are even giving me a rebate check every year just for choosing them as my energy supplier.

It is from FirstEnergy Solutions...
They will call trying to get you to switch to them as your electric supplier.
I'm not even listed on the account but they call me at all hours.
Now they are mailing the enrollment forms to me as well.
I had to call my states Public Utility Commission to file a harassment complaint as
they would get pissed when I told them no we weren't interested in switching but they keep bugging us...

Have had this number call my cell numerous times over past few months. I just ignore numbers I don't know. I'm glad to find out not answering was the right thing to do. Hope they get shut down soon. If I want to change my energy supplier, I'll do my own shopping...thanks...

This number called today, 8-20-12. My son answered , they asked for my husband and hung up when they were told he wasn't home. Weird!!

Just called. Asked for my husband. When my son told him he wasn't here, he hung up.

Received a phone call from this number early this afternoon.  I answered, thinking it was a local number and I was expecting a call back from the doctors.  Noone said anything on the other line despite me saying "hello" three or four times.  I just hung up...I'm glad I checked Google though, because I was worried I may have hung up on a very very important call from my doctor.

Received call from this number on August 13, 2012.  I missed the call but called back becuz it was the same area code as mine and I thought it was re: a job interview I had done.  No identification re: who it was.....it just said something like: "if you know which rep you would like to speak with,,,,,," so I just hung up without listening any further.  Receiving unwanted calls on my cell phone is like receiving junk mail that I have to PAY FOR.  I have saved the number in my phone under PESTS so I know not to answer it in the future.   Irritating.

Got a call from this number and it called my cell phone.  Well my cell phone is a Ohio number and none of my eletric or gas co. have that number.   Told him no thank you and hung up before he got to say more.... If they keep calling back I will turn them in to the States Attorney Office.  Haven't so far called my house number.

Call  repeadedly said hello Hello with no reply at all !
eventually they hung up but I did push the number 3 to block the prack call .

Received a call from this phone#, and my phone was dead, tried to call it back, bc it was local, and they picked up and hung up on me... Guess I'm lucky I didn't have to deal with them

AND THEY WOULDNT TELL ME WHO THEY WERE AND WHO THEY WERE CALLING FOR EITHER JUST KEPT TRYING TO GET ME TO TELL THEM MY INFO! ALWAYS GOOGLE TO SEE WHATS GOIN ON WITH THAT STUFF , THANKS FOR THREADING EVERYONE , IT SAVES ALOT OF PEOPLE FROM BEING SCAMMED.

Just got a call.  About saving on electric rates.  Told him I wasn't interested and he kept trying.  Finally he gave up and hung up on me.

It has something to do with your Penelec rates, he was talking so fast it sounded like a scam so I hung up

SCAM! Basically with the new laws they can change your supplier without a signature all they need is your POD ID (POD ID is your "point of delivery" identification number in the energy network that services your area.) They already had my full name and part of my account number. They want you "to save 7% or more" but really you are signing up for a big hassle. PASS!

Missed a call from this number (814-297-7666) late this morning.  First time they called my number, but I've been getting similar type scam/fraud/prank calls like this here and there for a few months now.  Not sure where they are getting my number, or whether they are just autodialing every number in the world or what.  Any more if I get a call from a number that I do not recognize and that does not leave a message, I go right to Google and check, more often than not I'm not the only one who received a call from the number.

Yeah no doubt about rude.  I picked up, the woman didn't even announce who she was initially, just wanted to know who was managing the Penelec bill.  I told her I didn't live in the house in question, she was real short, real rude, then hung up on me.  The call was so shady I briefly thought it was someone doing a status check on my house to break into it.

got a call today at 4:47 7/10/12. thought it may been my babydads other babymomma trynna use a new number or something but whoever it was hung up or just didnt answer.

I received a call from 814-297-7666.  The man asked for my husband by his full name, I told him he was not available and may I ask who's calling.  He said he was from IDT Energy, and asked if I was his wife, I said yes.  He said he was calling to save us money on our Penelec bill and in order to do so needed I needed the bill in front of me and asked me to get it.  I said okay but hung up,  I am a paralegal and know a scam when I hear one.  First of all, our electric bill is in my name and it always has been which was my first clue and then when he told me I needed to give him information off my bill, then I knew it was a scammer.  Reporting it now to the attorney general.

Have had three missed calls from this number within a week and a half. No messages left on my cell.

f****r wants to talk to housewives it appears - men dont cut it - he hung up when I yelled a big HELLLOOOO!

Called my work saying the exact same thing ("can i speak with the holder of the penelec account") as 724-835-8343 (from Herminie, PA)...told him i knew he was trying to scam me and he hung up.
