Received a call from "Brad" today trying to lead me to believe that he is with AT&T (my phone carrier) and is interested in trying to reduce my bill. He started with some simple questions that, if he was with AT&T, would have known. Upon questioning who he was with, he admitted that he is with Birch Communications - an official partner with AT&T. I hung up on him.
Caller ID indicated the name "Interactive Sol" and the phone number was 816-256-2522.

I love Birch, and hate ATT. I know Birch had about a month's worth of bad outbound sales people, but this is all over now. Other than that one month... Birch has been great. I would recommend them for all of their products.

They try to get you to say "yes" and they slam you, meaning switch you to them as your phone provider. They called pretending to be ATT and yet asked for my account #. To which I asked if they were ATT don't they have it??? They hung up.
Also, when they say "deregulation" they are referring to the telecom dereg act of 1996, which allows you to switch local phone companies... Ask them why they waited 12 years from deregulation to tell you about this "great deal'!

"Stan Lewis" said he was calling from AT&T to find out who was authorized to make decisions on this phone account. I asked, "So, are you telling me you're with ATT?" He laughed derisively and said, "Yeah, <my name>, that's why I'm calling you," and hung up.

Caller posed to be AT&T and said he wanted to lower my phone bill from $140 to $92 a month. Said I would get a call from a "third party" to verify.
Brad Ramos was the name given out. The number was 1-888-411-4228
Second call...
Second caller went by the company name of Birch. Said he was calling to verify that the previous caller was polite etc.
Caller hung up after I confirmed I did not want to take his company's deal.
Upon calling back the number on the caller ID and the number the first caller gave me i get a rung up in there message service. Basically to screen any incoming calls.
Very well thought out scam AVOID THIS NUMBER AND ITS CALLERS.
