Event Reminder
This number called me 2 minutes ago, and I answered. As soon as he said he was going to ask two security questions, I asked him to call back in half an hour. Obviously, I came on here to check who the number was for. I called Chase bank and they said it was legit and that they started this service to make sure I had a complete understanding of how to run the bank account and how to set up certain programs. I opened my account less than 60 days ago, so I guess that's why. I'm expecting the call back in about 10 minutes, but I'm going to be very direct with the man and ask him to prove he works for chase :D
Then I'm going to say "Sorry I can't give you that personal information without being sure you are a Chase employee" *click

How annoying. This is very unprofessional.

Event Reminder
Hi,

I too got a call from this number but I missed it; so I called them back. The guy was asking either my A/C # or SSN. I got his Employee name and employee number. And then I gave him my A/C # and he told me my account details.

Immediately, I called up Chase customer services and verified "who has called me just few minutes ago from Customer Care; they confirmed with the same employee name and number".

So call from this number is correct.

I just got a call today from this phone number. I opened a CHASE account a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, I did not answer because I had my phone on silent. No message left so I will not call back.

I just received a call from this number today.  I am not a chase customer, I never have been.  It has to be a scam because I have no ties to Chase at all.  DO NOT give them any information. I question the people on here claiming to be a chase customer and that this phone number is legit.  It could very well be the scam artists themselves.  It is the internet you can pretend to be whom ever you want. Like I said I have NO account with Chase.

I've had two calls this week that I didn't answer, and I did open a Chase account about 2 months ago.  It might be the fee thing as someone else said.  My account will charge a fee if I don't use my debit at least 5 times/month and do one deposit a month, or something like that.

I've missed 2 calls from this number on my cell phone today. No Messages, and I am not, nor have I ever been a Chase Customer. Random. I suppose someone could have written down their number incorrectly, I just hope I don't end up with a stream of missed calls...

***IMPORTANT****Of course that address would not be on the chase website...It's a call center not a Branch, also the phone calls are NOT FRAUD. it's a new department of chase that calls new customer to follow up with them after them 60 days after they have opened an account. Also they ask you to verify info ONLY if your account needs to be changed, updated, noted or if you ask for your balance. If you tell them you do not wish to talk on the phone they will note your account that you would rather do business in person. After they call, you can then call customer service and have them see the notes on your account and it will say who called you. Obviously this is NOT fraud and they are simply making sure you are aware of EVERYTHING with your account, due to the FACT that 96% of people do not read the disclosures that they are given when they open and account, Chase has created a way to call customer BEFORE they get a fee and to make sure they are in the best account that fits their needs...Thank you

This is not a scam, it is from their backend call center in Texas.

SHOULD NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE EVER, though.  Very unprofessional of Chase.

But I repeat,
NOT A SCAM.

It is more than likely a reminder about your direct deposit application.

I also got a call from this number on my cell phone. No message, and I didn't answer. I also recently opened an account with Chase and my automatic deposit isn't working. I think this is 100% legit, but just because I don't like companies who call for info, I'm not going to give them anything if they call back. And if they try to charge me a bunch of service fees, I'll just switch banks.

This # is totally valid. i got a call yesterday from this "fradulent phone number". the truth is. its really CHASE!!!! i was a little hesitant at first to speak with the gentleman but he was quite helpful. he only asked me for the LAST 4 of ssn or acct # and not the whole thing. he also told me the personal banker i opened my acct with and the exact branch. they just want to help new cust avoid service fees. i told the banker i googled the number b/c i thought it was fraudulent. he was able to tell me that they're not in a branch but in a call center. chase.com only gives addresses to branches and not internal departments. after i got the phone with him i went to see my personal banker and the guy's name was on my acct and everything we discussed. so the main point is the number is real and they're just calling to help.

After some research, 4501 New York Ave. in Arlington, TX is the Chase Call Center.  I also went to my local Chase branch, and they verified the information for me.  Someone already said it, but this is a legitimate phone number and phone call.

Chase (aka) fraudulent phone number. They have called my home everyday this week asking to speak with me. I do have a Chase account but when I looked up this phone number I found out some interesting stuff. Such as, this site with all of these shady reviews about this phone number, when I looked up this phone number through yellow pages it says it belongs to a Chase (4501 New York Ave. Arlington, TX 76018). Yet when you look up this address through the Chase website their is no such place. Plus when you do a reverse number lookup on white pages it says this is a landline (not a business). Also when you call the number you can't get anyone direct, they have a automated message asking for your name and number. So watch out people, they are looking for your information and I hope you turn this over to the authorities like I am.

Same thing for me...I have 5 missed calls from the number in the last 4 days.  I do not call it back, because if they wanted my attention they'd leave a message.  I also opened a Chase account a few months ago, but so did my boyfriend.  However, he is not receiving calls from this number.  Very weird.

My last 7 missed calls were all from this number. I haven't answered any of them because I don't know the number and they never leave messages. I also opened an account with chase about 2 months ago. What's odd, is my girlfriend did also, and everytime I get a call from this number, she gets one like 3 minutes later. It's getting very irritating.

Just because it's a legit phone number does not mean it's legit.  Search google for "Caller ID Spoofing".

I got a call from this number today, but did not answer and they did not leave a message.  I opened a Chase checking account about two months ago.

It did seem weird, but I called chase directly after the call, and it sounds like it's probably legit...apparently they started doing this about 4 months ago, calling on newly opened accounts, making sure you've got direct deposit set up, overdraft protection, etc.  They new the name of the branch I opened the account at, new the name of the banker I spoke with and date I called to change my account to basic checking.  It would be very odd for them to have that info if they weren't from chase.  And again, I verified this by calling chase directly.

I just received this same general call from this number and decided to google the phone number. He was very vague about his purpose for calling, something about setting up direct deposits and yearly fees. He knew the name of the banker who set up my account. Creepy. I'm in Dayton OH. This was very obviously some kind of fraud.

I received the same phone call on 12-3-07 and the guy said his name was Jason Owens.  He asked me to verify my ssn, address and bank account information.  Somehow he knew the name of the banker I used when I opened my bank account. I submitted a complaint to the FTC and now have a fraud alert on my information.

Um...wouldn't this be a cellphone number?  I thought cellphone numbers were the only ones that could have "0" as the second digit.  Anyway, I got two calls, didn't answer, and didn't get a message.  I am a Chase bank customer and credit card holder, so that is kind of weird...
