The exact same thing happened to me.  Answered the phone from HE and a recording came on that said it was an invalid number. Then I immediately received a call from Tower Carpet Cleaning, which I did not answer. It is against the law to call someone on the "Do Not Call" registry to solicit new business unless you already have established the person as a customer.

Received call at 5:27pm, when I answered, a message said,"no such number".
Strange.

Same thing as everyone else has stated about receiving a call from the number 817-656-5820 - I guess companies are really just ignorant.

Received a call from Howard Elmquist (817-281-5114).....no one on the other end.  Shortly after, my phone rang again....this time from Tower Carpet Cleaning (817-605-3678).....again no one on the other end.  I called both numbers....1st (817-281-5114)....a message came on saying there was no one there to take my call so I left message to remove my # from their list....2nd (817-605-3678) and spoke with a nice lady who said that she would remove my name.  She said that It is computer generated calling.

Just got a call from them today. Same as others on here. I answered and it said "this is not a valid number" so I googled the number and found this site. They obviously haven't been deterred from this.

Sames as most of the comments above.  The Howard Elmquist (once a carpet cleaning company calling) calls go away for awhile when I ask to be removed from their calling list- then they came back about every 2 years. I re,ebered the name from the previous years & the ridiculous amounts of times they would call, so I answered. No one said anything so I was trying to see what would happen. Each time I said anything I could hear a click.  About 3 minutes later Tower Carpet Cleaning called.  I called back & told them to remove my name permanently and also informed her that the way they do their calling was pissing a lot of people off & that she needs to check the Internet for complaints.  She obviously knew what I was talking about, she just kept on the path of getting my number so she could get me off her call list- she not once questioned what I was refedrring to.
What A***oles!!  I'll bet you they start calling again in about 2 years!

March 16th, 2010 and I just got a call from Howard Elmquist at 817-656-5820 as noted by others here.  I did not answer so I hope to not receive any addition calls from Tower Carpet Cleaning.  This is not the first time I have had hangup calls from "Mr. Elmquist" stored on my phone's caller ID.

After reading other people's comments here, I am filing a complaint with the Texas AG as well.  I hope others do as well.

Called but did not leave message.

Called and hung up, followed by a call from Tower Carpet cleaning (his business).  This has happened on multiple occasions

Caller ID shows Howard Elmquist; 817-656-5820. Answered phone and recording said, "not a valid number." Hung up and immediately received a call from Tower Carpet Cleaning Company. Did not answer phone and caller left no msg. Looked up both numbers and found this site. Immediately filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General's office.

This number:  817-656-5820 ("Howard Elmquist") called my home four (4) times this morning in order, I suppose, to alert a call center (in this case:  Tower Carpet Cleaning......  caller ID: "TOWER CRPT CLNG" @ (817) 605-3678.  (Later Tower Carpet Cleaning calls.)  I have called the "do not call telemarketing phone number" several times to no avail.  I would like for my our telephone number to stay private.  I have called the Howard Elmquist and Tower Carpet Cleaning telephone numbers numerous times to ask them to remove my number from their so-called list and there is never an answer.  We need to establish some boundaries.  I will be calling the Attorney General's office regarding this matter.

caller id says Howard Elmquist but the number is not 817-656-5820 it is now 817-281-5114.  I tried calling it back and when answered the caller said "Sorry wrong number" and hung up.

same as above ... only 7 months later.   call from Howard Elmquist ... no one there ... followed by a call from Tower Carpet Cleaning.

This number 817-656-5820 is still in operation and just called my work number (817 area code) on Wednesday 1/14/09.

This number:  817-656-5820 ("Howard Elmquest") calls your home in order to alert a call center (in this case:  Tower carpet cleaning...caller ID: "TOWER CRPT CLNG" @ (817) 605-3678.  It should be against the law to telemarket.  It's like coming into one's home uninvited.  Not the mention; that they wake my husband who works the graveyard shift.  We pay good money for our telephone number to stay private.  We need to establish some boundaries.  If I want to buy something, I have the right to buy what I want from where or whom I want.  I don't want uninvited irritating people to come into my home.

The Fort Worth phone book lists five numbers for Howard Elmquist at the Brittany Park address. Shortly after I received his call (A hang up) I got a call from a "Tower Carpet Cleaning Company". When answered the caller said "Sorry wrong number" and hung up. I checked them out in the Yellow pages and they list their address as identical to that of Howard Elmquist on Brittany Park. These people are obviously trolling for customers. I just finished sending an on line complaint to the TX Attorney General. I suggest everyone do the same.

No-body there. Caller ID identifies caller as Howard Elmquest. Internet identifies caller from 6713 Brittany Park Ct, North Richland Hills, TX 76180  All this could be bogus, except for the phone number.
