Called twice in past 2 days - leaves no message - caller ID shows Texas Call 817-764-2877

Answered it. It was Breast Cancer Prevention Fund.

Caller ID says UNAS with the number 817-764-2877.   I answer and they hang up.  When I call the number back, no one answers.  This happens at least twice a week.  It is very annoying.

I keep getting calls for 817-764-2877  and they hang up. who are they and why do they not answer.

The call that you answer when no one is on the other end of the call is a computer checking to see if a human is home. If you answer, a human is supposed to call you back later.

Maybe a good charity.  But, their tactical phone style promotes ill will.  They'll have a better response from me via USPS.  Phone guerrilla warfare doesn't cut it.  They need to grow up and cease these foolish ploys.

I get these annoying calls up to ten times a week.  They are often early in the morning around 8:00 a.m.  Sometimes a person answers if I pick up but somtimes there is no answer at all.  I hate these calls.  They come at any time of day or night.  When I do get an answer I tell them to remove my number from their call list, but a lot that does!!  They keep calling and it drives me nuts~!

They called the other day and since I live in the 817 area, I wanted to know who they were; they hung up before I got to the phone. For the 2nd time, I've tried to call back and the message says "I'm sorry; the number you are calling has been disconnected."

Like a lot of charities, UNAS has a computer system that calls initially. If a human answers instead of a busy signal or no signal, a person at the charity is notifed that someone is home and then calls that number back.

Have a system that's supposed to block calls that don't ID.  Well, some fool that has way to much time on their hands, found a way to beat it, so I was daily getting calls that said "unknown name unknown number". I complained to my provider that I was receiving these calls & my provider attempted to correct the problem. Subsequently I now receive calls like the one illustrated: Date, 7/11/2008; Time, 3:14pm;  caller ID data,
"unknown name & 1.  This changed,(while I watched), to "unknown name &
062-269-0597.  Yesterday, 7/12/08, I received a call that said "unknown
name & 18177642877, which lead me here!
