Had two calls from a "private number". The first call was a man who asked for the owner or controller, and mentioned it was in regards to an investigation. I told him the owner wasn't in and asked if I could take a message. He then said "maybe you can help me, do you help him with the accounts receivable?" I said no, and he said he'd call back and hung up. The second call came within a few minutes of the first, also a "private number" but a different man's voice. He asked for the owner, I once again stated he wasn't in, and asked if I could take a message. The man replied he'd just call back and hung up. The fact they they blocked their number(s), don't indentify themselves, and don't know the owner's name is very suspicious. Mostly likely some type of scam.

Received same call. Claimed his name was Roy Payton re: commercial investigation. Asked for owner and I gave him our manager who he then hung up on. Scam.

I want this a***ole's name. He will never get through to the owner with his attitude!

Got a call from this number and a man said he collects bad debts for companies.  It sounded as though there was a party going on in the background.  I told him my company did not have trouble with collections and was not holding any judgements against anyone.
He then proceeded to ask if I was owed any money personally and I told him I wasn't.  I believe he thinking he can find companies and individuals who are owed money and eager to recover it.  I can only imagine he will proceed in asking for bank account numbers so he can "deposit" it in a business's account after he collects it. Yow, right.
I smelled a SCAM.  He was so unprofessional, especially with a loud party in the background.  The bunch was, more than likely, celebrating SCAMMING SOMEONE that day.

This guy was so rude. I looked up company and number and have come to the conclusion with everyone's comments that he is a telemarketer! Just using his charm to get to the persons he needs to talk to. It must work for him what a dork! He works for a company that sells Faxes, like e-mail fax and such get the word out if you are reading this, this company is ruthless.

This lady was rude, yelled at me and then hung up!!!!!!

Got a call from this number today at my job.  They asked for the owner or controller and said it was part of an investigation and that they would hold...?????  I said, "There's no one here right now" as in there is no owner or "controller" here.  He basically mocked me and said, "Well...YOU'RE someone, aren't you???" and laughed to himself at his attempt at a joke, but the way he said it was rude and condescending and he was obviously making fun of the way I worded it.  He then asked if I was the bookkeeper.  I told him the bookkeeper is only here once or twice a week (which is true) and he laughed and said, "HA!  Must be nice.  Ok I'll try back." and just HUNG UP ON ME without letting me respond or take a message.  If he had let me respond, it wouldn't have been pretty.  My boss NEVER answers the phone and there is no chance they are ever going to get to talk to him so they can forget it. If they call back, they can expect an unpleasant surprise, as I will not forget the way he acted and I did not appreciate it whatsoever.

Person called here asking for owner or controller & said "i will hold" and i said i was the manager but they are out of country and that I could help them, he said he would try back and I was trying to say they dont' even work out of this office but he already hung up on me

Rude man called and DEMANDED to speak to the owner or accounts receivable. I asked if I could help him and he was VERY rude. Then he hung up. I called the number back to discover it was a fax machine. So now I am going to FAX them and tell them to STOP calling. :-)

I got a call from this number and he asked for the owner or controller because he was conducting an investigation.  He did not identify himself and would not leave a message.  When I called the number back, I discovered it was a fax machine.

A very abrasive and rude man just called from this number.  He wouldn't provide information about himself or nature of his call BUT wanted to know who I was.  Really?  
He said if was a confidential commercial collection matter.  I pay my bills.  What a jerk!
I tried calling number back, it goes into a fax type ring mode.
