why am i getting these call? i don't know anyone at this number.

i keep getting calls from 1-818-859-4104, i do not know anyone at this number.

I just got one as well..I didn't answer though..Has anyone else answered to see who is calling..

I got a call from this number also. They asked for someone I dont know and then prceded to tell me that since I own this number, I qualify for a $5000.00 grant.
I told the lady that I wasnt interested and asked her to remove my number from her call list. She then cussed at me and hung up. When I tried to call the number back, I got a message that said this was not a working number. Clearly a scam of some kind.

Same call today 8-13-09. They said "western union me 100 dollars and you qualify for $5000.00 in grants. But you have to do it within the next 2 minutes."

Ditto on the fraud info. They referred me to 323-843-2836 for a call-back ine. Also documented as a fraud line. Do not give out personal information!

I get this  call all the time and they  hang up if i  answer and stay on the line to see who it is. I have  Do Not CAll, and  am getting  ticked at all the  calls I get!

A lady with a heavy Jamaican/African accent called, requesting confirmation of my wife's name, and asking if I own this telephone number. She then commented the call is to inform her of a debt-free "grant for $7,00.00 which she doesn't have to pay back.". After the first call, and a second call back to me just a moment later... I used area code lookup online, and then called this number back, which was conveniently "out of service". This type of "virtual phone number" seems to be becoming more common & frequent among scam artists whom are attempting to "phish" vital information from whomever answers their calls.
