THESE CALL BEFORE 9:AM...THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS..AND WHEN YOU ARE ARE ON NIGHT SHIFT IT REALLY MAKES YOU MAD..

Well, if this is NOT AT&T, it's awfully funny that my phone service got cut off today.

When I called the numbers that I DO have, the lady there said I had to pay in full to get all my services back.  If I paid $57.00 today, I would only get my phone service back; not my cell phones or my internet.  She had a strong Indian accent.

I called back again.  I got another lady who told me if I post-dated a check for September 10, they would resume ALL my services, but I have to pay $60 restoration fee.  I agreed to this because I need to have cell phone and internet service - no question.  I may complain to them about the $60 fee because I intended to call them today and they only left one message on Saturday and then they cut you off?  Ridiculous - especially being a loyal customer for years and with the state of the economy!!

You know what's funny?  I didn't pay my bill which was due yesterday.  I was going to call them Monday to pay my bill in halves - once on Sept. 3 and once on Sept. 10.  I will do this at my leisure, but this number better not call again today!

I do wonder too about the scam.  AT&T seems like they would give you at least a week before they called.  It's possible that these scam artists know these facts, and know that AT&T bills are always due around the 28th.

We just got a call from 843-308-7870 at 8:16 am with South Carlonia on the caller ID and 803-308-7402 with the name William Hayden on the Caller ID with no message left on the 803 number

THIS is NOT AT&T, this is not at&t, this people who get access to your account through a secondary company. I have reported them to the FCC.
As long as you believe that they are AT&T they don't get reported.
I have spoke to AT&T, I was told to report and warn anyone I know, that this is a scam.
1st THEY tried to slamm me (tried to get me to change my carrier) then when that didnt work, they started callin sayin they were calling sayin the were AT&T

They slammed me after I canceled with them and picked up a local carrier.
They have been sending bills for a year now. I call every month, explain I have not had AT&T for a year....'sorry, we will take the charges off your bill'. I asked them to lose my name. They send bills for fees only, no phone calls! Hundreds of calls from them over the months. I have spent about 8 hours in communciation with them over this. I Feel I have a pretty good harassment case. I have lots of documentation. Told them I will see them in court. Good chance the judge has been hassled too.

continually call all day and even similar numbers;  all from south carolina;  called att and told them to take me off that list... think i was talking to someone in India tho.  and he wanted my last four soc sec digits. told him no.

We are getting repeated calls and hang ups from this number.  Just like everyone else and we do not have AT$T.
Frustrating and should be stopped.

call to ask for someone who does not live here and I dont know them. They call repeatedly. Very annoying.

I have also been receiving phone calls from 843-308-7870. Told to pay my bill now or it was going to the Credit Bureau. I was also given a phone number to call 800 532-7486 could not find this number in google nor yellowpages. Phone rep did not speak english very well.

They claim to be AT&T. I do not have at&t. I HAVE NO LONG DISTANCE COMPANY!
IHAVE A LONG DISTANCE BLOCK ON MY PHONE. I HAVE NOT HAD AT&T SINCE 2000! when I ask them why they are billing me and for what, they say they do not know... but I owe them. BU***HIT! C'YA IN COURT, A**HOLES.

This is NOT, I repeat, NOT AT&T!!! Do NOT EVER give them any of your information!! It is an international scam, and the FBI is fully aware of it, and they cannot do anything about it, because it's international. The phone number does not exist. These people have been able to use a fake number, and make that number show up on our caller IDs.

Multiple calls daily

It's AT&T.  If they are calling about your bills or service and are calling BEFORE 9 am, or AFTER 9 pm, they are likely violating your State's Public Utility and Consumer laws.  In addition, they are also governed by the Federal Communications Commission.  This behavior is new since they were purchased by a third rate company called SBC.  Much of their actions are violative of both State and Federal Law - at least on my caller ID they do not show their name.  Nor do they leave messages.  The calls end up being harrassing under NJ Statutes when they are continual and they don't leave messages - I don't answer unidentified callers who don't leave messages and have repeatedly filed call trace reports against them with my local carrier.  I dropped AT&T for a better service provider - before SBC bought them, that was unthinkable.  The cell phone 803-308-7402 seems VERY LIKELY a violation of both Federal and State laws at 2 levels.  REPORT THEM TO THE AUTHORITIES.  I DID AND DROPPED THEM.

They call multiple times daily, starting at 8am on Saturday!  We called back to find it was AT&T (didn't talk to anyone).  We recently dropped their service -- is this why?

Yes-  It's AT&T calling regarding overdue or past phone bills.  I too find the calls harassing because they call REPEATLY back to back and NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE. When my answering machine picks up, they hang up and it is like they call back, to back, to back… 2 to 5 times a day and in a row.
I called AT&T regarding it be cause I wanted to know who the calls were coming from because the caller ID never have a name (shows “unknown caller” or “unavailable”).   I was forwarded to the AT&T collections department and the operator informed me that yes, they tried to call me regarding my phone bill (which was only 1 day late!!!) and that the calls are made from a computer and that they normally wont leave a message the computer picks the callers at random.   I informed the operator I made an online payment the day after the bill was due and still continued to receive the calls – she said she did not know why that would still happen.  IT’S STUPID!!  I would think that a company- as large as AT&T- where individuals receive services from would AT LEAST have better phone contact service than this.

We get these calls also with no response when you answer. What a waste off answering the phone.

Again at 9:05PM tonight I received a call from this number, finally I googled it and found out who has been calling me...

10 Calls made from them in one day!!! Oh and yes the 803-308-7402 is AT&T too...  Oh and I have gotten a legit call ONCE from AT&T regarding a bill, and the caller ID tells me its AT&T calling me...  So what exactly these numbers are and why they call I do not know...

I run into this in the past, I think with a different number. I think this is a phone-equivalent of a phishing scam. In any regard, you should not pay anybody collecting through this number even if they seem legitimate. Treat these phone calls like an email phishing scam. Don't trust them if you don't recognize them, and if you have an issue with AT&T payments, only make your payment through the official site, if you must pay by phone, get a legitimate number through the AT&T website.

I wouldn't rain hell-fire on AT&T for this without knowing it is them, I would contact AT&T or write, like I just did, to abuse@bellsouth.net and include a link to this page. If they are at fault they will be able to stop the calls, and if they are not they deserve to know it is a problem and have a chance to respond to the issue.

They said my husband's last name incorrectly, I replied "there is no one here by that name". hopefully they will not call back

this number called my my phone today 6 times and left now messages when i called the number back it gave me another number to call i called and they were very nasty on the phone tring to collect money for a collect call i recieved 3 months ago from a pay phone .
