Getting calls and emails from a Linda at 843-416-0233 wanting to buy some Mary Kay. States she is def and can't use credit card. Also had same message a few weeks ago from different name Anna Madison at 509 996 7228. I'm thinking she is trying to get product sent and no pay.  Text and emails  are always around 5am.

I have received two texts from the this number. I did contact MK this morning and advise them of the potential SCAM and provided the number. Thankfully it struck me as odd at the outset (the first text came through at 5:30 on a Saturday morning). Be careful out there - there are crooks everywhere, unfortunately!

I too have been receiving texts and e-mails for Linda James.  Texts are from 843-416-0233 and e-mails from psm0012@hotmail.com. She is deaf, can't pay with  a credit card, new to the area and so on.  Her 1st text was on Friday 03/7/2014 and then started e-mailing on Saturday 03/08/2014.  She is asking form products we don't even offer anymore.  Best advice, don't return messages to this person.

A text from " Linda James" deaf and can't use credit cards...Yet another scam.

I just received the same text from Linda.

This scam is very common to Mary Kay consultants and other independent consultants/representatives  . The reports we've seen involve a person making claims of being deaf, needing the product for a wedding, and so on, along with a long list of product that they say they want to order. They then ask to pay with a cashier's check , for a larger amount than the total of the order, and that the consultant send the remaining balance along with the product.

The scam : the check is fraudulent.

The best plan of action, if you are concerned about your login details, is what you've already done. Beyond that, I would suggest blocking the email address and phone number (if yours is cellular and you have a text/call blocking app such as Mr. Number)  and ceasing all contact with this person.

Same thing as above. Linda James sends a text wanting me to email her at psm0012@hotmail.com to order Mary Kay. Claims to be deaf and can't use credit card. I made the mistake of emailing before looking up her/his number. I hope to God I am not hacked. I've heard all sorts of bad stuff about this "Phone Hobbyist." Has anyone contacted Mary Kay or the authorities as to what is the best plan of action if you have been contacted? I changed my email password immediately but I'd like to know if there is anything else I should do.

Name Linda ask me for my email address  its a scam!!!

I got the same message about 20 minutes ago.  This same "person" texted me from a different number about 6 months ago and I ignored it for the sake that it was fake and no my suspions are correct.

I just got a text from "Linda" today requesting me to email her at psm0012@hotmail.com.
Exact message says "Hello how are you doing today, This Linda I will love to order some marykay Product from you and I want you to get back to me at (psm0012@hotmail.com) Await your email MA

Mary Kay rep this person needs to get a life it's a SCAM

This number continuosly sends me text messages requesting to order Mary Kay products from me.  How they know that I sell it, I have no idea!  But from what I understand, they do the same thing to several others that sell Mary Kay.  The email address they leave is PSM0012@hotmail.com and they say their name is Linda.

I have also been getting text messages from this person, Linda, stating the desire to place a MK order.  I responding by telling them to go online to my MK website.  I then received a request via text for my email.  I gave my MK email, not my personal. I did not send anything to the email address they provide - psm0012@hotmail.com to avoid any form of tracking from my computer.  My iPad blocks any such tracking but I still chose not to email just in case.

As you are aware, this request is totally fake.  No idea of who or what is trying to be accomplished but I am greatful for virus and spyware protection!

I received a text asking to order Mark Kay products and then she emailed me stating the same line about not being able to use CC's and being deaf.

 I have been getting text messages and emails from a person name Linda James.  Naturally I did a bit of investigating and found out The the name Scott Hensworth...There is a FB page for him but odds are prob a fake.  The cell number is SC, and the ip address is located in WA.  (see below)

The number is currently on switch number NCHRSCBMDS0 (switch is a technical specification for phone hobbyists) .
