I received a call from this number and did not hear the phone ring nor do I recall missing it.

I received a clal from this number when I reet my eBay password. Must be contracted out.

I received this call today on my call log, but do not remember the phone ringing nor did I have a missed call. Weird.

I got two calls tonite from Authentify 630-948-1490. First one at 7:01 pm, 7:03pm. Automated saying "Press 7 if you were expecting a call from Ebay." I hung up. Went & checked ebay. That lead me to contacting attempting to contact them. I got the automated chat. Here is a copy:

Teh response I got was "it wasn't ebay. I would block the number from calling you." Blah, Blah

Josh - 8 Nov 2008This call is legit.  It is really from ebay.  I made some changes to my ebay account from a computer I don't normally use.  So they called and gave a pin, I had to read back the pin to make the changes.  it's a security feature

From looking more into this, the first time someone got a call was 2006 & reported it to EBay. Which Ebay did nothing.
Authentify Inc uses many phone numbers & many lines paypal, ebay, Navy Fed, etc to get others to press the number they say too.
I tried calling the number off caller id back.....Guess What? BUSY, BUSY for 2 hours straight now.

I called the number above. I got a recording. Basically what I learned is they are "company the sells things." Mind you I only got this off their recording.

The year is 2009 & this has been going on since 2006. I think it is time something is done. We all need to ban together & come up with a way to make Ebay & others names that have been used "Deal with this Matter Once in for All!"

The number is legit. I forgot the password for my online banking, and I received a call from this number which gave me a confirmation code to reset the password. Fifth third bank. Not spam. If you got a call from this # and didn't request a password change, someone was probably trying to hack your bank account.

I just received two calls from this number.  The first said "This is eBay - press 2 if you are expecting this call".  The second said This is eBay - press 0 if you are expecting this call".  I don't think it is - eBay never just calls anyone.

I can confirm that its from Paypal. They use it for confirmation services

Called my house on a Sunday at 11:40 PM.  I am DNC list too.

I just got off the phone with eBay (I called the 800 # on their website), and they told me that yes, they employ an automated system to randomly call their customers and verify identity. She verified that the call says something about "if you were expecting this call, press whatever number)
From what I can gather, they employ an outside company to make the automated calls, which would explain why some people are getting calls from this same phone number that claim to be another company.  
I didn't so much mind the call---what I minded was that I received it at 1:00 am.  The not-so-bright cs rep who took my call says she will let her supervisor know that the company they hired is actually calling people in the middle of the night, but I doubt anything will change.

Called at 9:52 P.M. on Sunday night. Been calling all weekend and say "if you're expecting this call press # (or 7 or 3).

The number is actually associated with Pay Pal.  I lifted the limit on my Pay Pal account and as I was doing so on Pay Pal's website it asked me to enter my telephone number and then you have the option for them to call you immediatley or later to verify your identity for your Psy Pal sccount.  They called instantly and the number that showed up on my caller ID was 847-750-2415.

Woke my family up after midnight on two separate occasions. My phone number must have belonged to someone else before me, or someone entered my number by mistake. Whatever the cause, I don't appreciate automated phone calls at odd hours.

I received this call and it is out of Chicago as I did live there once and had an 847 area code..they did not respond so I hung up.
