Called looking for a person that doesn't exist. Nor did they ever.  At least, not in the 13 years we've had this number.
Background was very loud.
Sounded like (and my gut says) one of those "telemarket collection agencies" that probably WAS NOT hired by the Payee, but rather the kind of collection agency that purchases lists of people with old debts.  They further try to trick the person they are calling by using a fake ip generated phone number to make it appear they are local using your own area code.Which is illegal by the way, to use it for deception.  
That's just my guess. But I do think it's an accurate guess.
If you owe anyone money, do not pay the collection agency, pay the person you owe.  Tell them to pull you out of collections.
You never know who is calling to get your credit card number over the phone.

I answered this phone call today. He said he was from the vision financial. I never even heard of that company. He wanted the last four numbers of my social which I did not give him. Then he wanted me to verify my mailing address which I would not do either. He had an address of a place that I live seven years ago. He wanted to know if this is a previous address. I said no. He said thanks and hung up total fraud. Don't give them any information.

If they keep calling get a record your incoming calls from your cell phone provider then you can sue them for calling your cell phone even if you owe a debt

This number has called my house several times and does not leave a message.  Whenever I have tried to call this number back, it goes straight to a busy signal.  I don't like this and I do not feel it is fair.

Number calls and you try and call it back and get a busy signal!

It's a Collector. They know you are smart and won't pick up an 800-number. So the Collectors are now hiding behind "local" (unlisted) phone numbers. Do what I do. Only pick up numbers from your phone book (friends, relatives, etc). Otherwise, let the call go straight to voice-mail. If it's an "important call", they will a voice mail. But with the Collectors, they rarely leave any voice-mail.

The number 847-850-0782 keeps calling my cell phone number and will not leave a message.  When I try calling the number back, I get an ongoing busy signal.  This number calls me at least 2 to 3 times a week.  Who are these people?
