I keep getting a phone call from 847-871-9616 on my cell phone, but they never leave a message.  This is the 4th time in 2 days this # has tried contacting me.  It is quite annoying, especially when I am trying to spend time with my family.  

Has anyone else received phone calls from this #?

Male caller, didn't identify himself, knew our surname, asked if this was Mr or Mrs, then hung up.

I get the same harassing phone calls from "Tricky Dicky" (847) 871-0939,  he doesn't leave any message and when trying to call back there's no answer or has busy signal.  Then I found this site and noticed all of the complaints,  what I suggest is for each of of us to contact FCC, Illinois and get this guy shut down and jailed.

Since he doesn't identify himself and claims to be connected to charities asking for money,  this is a clear case of fraud (felony) and should be handled as such by the authorities.  Let's do our duty and get this guy "shut down" !

Everyone needs to understand that by law, charities only need to give 1% to the cause to be 'legal.  That's why there are so many out there.  If you want to get really savy and 'knowledegeable' about where you want to donate your hard earned dollars, go to www.charitynavigator.org.  They evaluate the various public charities and provide the total picture of how the money you donate is distributed, all the way up to the CEO's salary.  Be wise and educated.  Good luck.

It's not even the charities that piss us off, it's all of you scumbag telemarketers calling us throughout the day. You want us to feel sorry for you but instead I have to waste MY time to answer MY phone to talk to a-holes like you because YOU call Us. I never give and will never give a contribution over the phone. If I want to give to a charity, I will do the research and contact them. Why don't you "learn some info" from the other end of the phone...LEAVE US ALONE AND DON'T CALL US ANYMORE!!! Remember I don't call you at all hours of the day like you and other telemarketers do to us.

Just plays elevator music. Seriously? Who or what calls people and plays elevator music. Keeps happening. Try to call back number... no answer, no machine.

Then why are they so rude when you say that you can't help them at this time?

Guy called from police athletic club. He started to ask for donation I said no thank you .he said wait a minute in a rude tone. I said no you are being rude.  He said no you are being rude. I hung up. He actually called me back to yell at me some more and I had my husband answer.

From this number:  Frequent hang-up calls.  The phone company should take it out of commission!

I am tired of these calls.  They don't answer and call all the time.  Please get this stopped.

no one told your 10 year old daughter it was the police they told her it was police athletic league...then your daughter told you it was the police.kids do that everyday.

TAI doesn't claim to be a charity....they call for multiple charities and you didn;t listen when they told you that,you put on the blinders and heard what you wanna hear.when you tell someone "take me off the list" that's doesn't apply to non profit charities.those are sells call's for service's or selling products not non profit charties.same as the do not call list.i worked for that company and i wish it did cause it's a waste of time for everyone,but your not on a list.it's a automated system that calls everyone in the state.so you can't be takin off the list cause there isn't one.go call the "real" police and nothin will happen,cause guess what? they employ them to make those calls.that company has been around for 25 years and was never once successfully sued cause it is alllllllllllll legal.

first before you people talk about how these people are scammers and your gonna kick their a** then learn some info about it before first.i used to work for tai and not a single thing anyone you said is correct.first,they aren't claiming anything.they call for those charities.police atheltic league,illinois disabled and retired firefighters(not firefighters assoc.),illinois vietnam veterans employ telemarketing companies to call for them.those charity's want x amount of money every year.when they say police atheletic league,that doesn't mean it's the police.no time does anyone say it's the police.it's the name of the charity.you just hear the word "police" and say it's a scam.also police charity's and f.o.p.'s can't call people thats why they employ telemarketing company's then when you ask them if they call they say no and you say it's a scam.they didn't lie because they don't call the hire companies to do it for them and then want you to come give them money directly instead of giving to charity's on the phone.they don't care how hard they make it for the company they hire because they are stilled gonna get x amount of money no matter what.so why you mad at the telemarketing company and not the organization?they are the one's that make police officers mislead you.second "these b*****ds call in the morning's and on sundays".state of illinois law says you can't call before 8 am and after 9pm.they want these companies to call.you get a call early morning on saturdays because no one is home by noon.so don't be mad at those companies be mad at illinois.all i ever heard from people is "it's too early to call","why are you calling on a sunday?" "your calling during dinner". where is this magical 15min time that you can call people  that's ok?.you talk to thousands of people a day.you can't please everyone.third,you don't know how much of the money goes to the charity because THE CHARITY THEMSELVES DON'T TELL THE TELEMARKETING COMPANIES HOW MUCH DOES!!!.thats why you get an answer like i don't know,but i have a website or toll free number you can call.fourth,they ask you your name and they won't tell and say then i'll call back because so many people think it's funny to f*** with them that if someone doesn't identify themselves then that's company policy to say ok well we will try them later.if you didn't you'de spend your whole day getting pranked on.so if you people didn't do that.it wouldn't happen.....so say those people are b*****ds and shameful....i think it's you and the misleading cop's that are shameful.

Received a call from this number claiming it was for the disabled firefighters association.  My wife bought into this 5 years ago and they continue to call, every 6 months.  They will not give any info on the organization (e.g. website ) read up there is none.  All shpould refuse

I contacted the police about these people.  They call asking for money twice a month. This is a scam.

They called  here today and they call from time to time. Don't know why since I never answer. Think they'd get the message. Obviously these b*****ds don't mind bothering people on Sundays. Got to be a big fat scam. I'm sure they keep the majority of any money they receive and probably give a small portion (if any at all) to the charity. Sure not gonna get a nickel out of me.

Lady called my house, saying they're collecting money for the illinois vietnam veterans fund. I called back to check the number and who would answer, but the phone just rings and rings then hangs up. unbelievable.

this phone number just called my house, saying they're collecting money for the illinois vietnam veterans fund. he talked for 10 seconds then i stoppped him and said my parents weren't home. he then said he'd call back later, and he assumed i hung up the phone, but before we both hung up i heard him on the other end saying "THEN DON'T F****NG ANSWER." I called back to put him in his place, but the phone just rings and rings then hangs up. unbelievable. Get a real job.

Lady called and said it for police and then I asked if this was the police or a marketing company calling on behalf of the police, she said it was a marketing co. I told her that was disgraceful and she said she had a number that I could call to complain and I asked her her name and she said her name was " Good Bye and hung up

Caller ID said "IL Caller".  Did not recognize the number, so did not pick it up, but wondered who the heck would be calling so early in the morning, waking everyone in the house up, so I went online to see who the heck it was.  Glad I did.  Looks to be a scammer.  I NEVER answer the phone unless I know who is on the other end.

I am very tired of these phone calls.
Today it started at 6am. I get anywhere from 4 to 10 times a day from you people.
So now I am going to forward these numbers to the police department becauase maybe they can do something about it. maybe a class action law suit.

called me tonight spoke to my wife said was for disabled veterans, wanting to be put down for 30 or 35 dollars i have some idea who these bums may be and they are based in zion il which is full of these bums which scam and misuse all charity services topay for their drugs and alcohol, trust me i have seen them hoarding and trading food meant for the needy, keeping the good stuff for themselves and selling the remaider or trading for drugs/alcohol money, they use religion as a front to further their coniving ways, im so sick of this bs and no one seems to care it is so ingrained and excepted the ghetto rats have the wool pulled over the people generous enought to help, please only give to charities that monitor and keep a receipt mission fish on ebay has a great program please consider them  as the money is better accounted for. oh and they refused to give any information as other allready stated. they need tarred and feathered.
