Calls coming from this number (1-888-456-7407) leaving messages when I do not answer. Message: "This is an urgent business matter that needs your immediate attention; please call us back at 18884567407. My sister-in-law apparently put my phone number down as her own--along with my address--and they are calling me to collect an unpaid bill to the Emergency Care Group and the bill is over $600 USD. I have to deal with these calls from National Asset Management every day from 8AM until around 10PM. I've spoken with four different representatives of NAM and have given them my sister-in-law's correct address. Each rep assures me that my number and address are going to be blocked from their computers...and yet the calls keep coming and I keep talking to different reps. Unlike some of the other people on here, I have yet to talk to someone with an accent and they have not demanded credit card info--yet. But I cannot get them to stop calling all day, every day.

Calling my cell - does not leave message

This number just called my house at 1:40am AM!!! sounded like someone was on the other line and as I said hello hello they hung up.Tried calling it back and just got an odd sound like a long busy beep.

This woman's pre- recorded voice just leaves a message to call them back I never get through. I believe it to be a scam and we should have better laws for scams able to access home phone numbers, names and addresses! Write your congressman!

This number called about an urgent message to be delivered about a late house payment and asked for social security number. This so called person's name was Arnold Greer and he had a rather thick middle eastern accent. SCAM.  DO NOT ANSWER.

Got a call today from 888-456-7407 when I answered I could hear someone at the
other end of the phone but they would not speak. They call at least once a day
and normally I don't pick up because I figured it was one of those harrassment
calls anyway. I was pretty gruff when I answered so maybe I scared whoever it
was. Then just for fun I decided to return the favor. I called and Joshua of
Asset Management answered the phone. I promptly hung up.

I have started logging these calls and am going to write to our State Attorney
General to see if I can get something going there! This is absurd!

By the way, and in case anyone was wondering this little scam is known as Zombie Debt Collection. These people will harrass anyone to collect money regardless of whether or not they owe any! The game is to intimidate and harrass innocent people into paying the debts of others.

They claim to be a collection agency I have  nothng out here that eould cause them to call me

this number has called me 5 times today alone and has called many times in the past few days. when you pick up you get a message for you to call them back at the same number. when you do they ask for you to leave a message but you cannot.

Does anyone know how to reach them? I've been calling that number but I keep getting a message saying they're experiencing high call volume and that leave a message, but i never get a voicemail to leave a message

Call constantly asking for Jennifer. They have been told a million times that they have the wrong # and that there isn't a Jennifer in our household but they keep calling anyway.

They call..I answer, and they hang up! I call back and they answer. National assets collection agency. Quest diagnostic, unpaid medical bills.

This number calls me everyday, usually right a 8am and tonight at 9:16pm!  As far as I know calling after 9 is against the law!  So whats up lawyers? who wants to win a case?! Previously I had an Indian sounding man call claiming he was from Quest Diagnostic saying I owed them money, when I became confrontational about who he was and where he was calling from he hung up.

WARNING!!!    This number 888-456-7407, belongs to a company calling itself National Assets Management (Leana Bennette).  The callers from 888-456-7407 are of Indian descent and they call all hours day and night with demands for credit card information so they can collect what they claim is an unpaid medical expense of more than $600.

When asked requested for details of the debt and debtor, they claim they are not required to provide such information and demand a credit card number.

After nearly four months of constant harassment and several attempts to gather any information at all on this alleged debt, they finally provided enough vague information to determine the claim was for a third-party supposedly owed moneys by a physician my wife saw for an office visit and checkup nearly a year ago: Dr. Cheryl A Reed, The Pinnacle Health Group, 2605 W Swann Avenue, Suite 100, Tampa, FL  33609, 813.874.5500.

Dr. Cheryl A Reed’s office claims no responsibility for our medical information being shared with this third party, nor will they accept any responsibility in stopping the harassment.  We’ve reported them to the BBB and are in the process of recruiting legal council to deal with what is at a minimum a violation of HIPPA, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and an outright invasion of our privacy.

They called me and left no message. I called them back from a different number and a woman answered, appeared to be sitting in a call center, she said hello this is Amy Smith... and then I just didn't say anything. After a few hellos she said Terry? Terry? and then hung up. Weird.

Called and said their name was John Davis although they had a very thick accent. Did not say what they wanted just left number.

I have been getting these calls for over 3 months. i called the company corprate office after getting no where with the rude collectors on the other line. i have threatened to sue if these call do not stop the lady was plesant and listened to what i had to say. after i told her i will file a lawsuit she said she was going to make a note and have my number taken off the call list. lets see if that works, the next time they call i am calling corprate back and recording my own calls and the lawsuit will begin.

This company is not a scam. They're actually fine to deal with if you are willing and ready to pay your bill. I called the phone # back after reading this expecting to deal with a jerk. He was as helpful as his job allows him to be. He verified who I was, provided me with an invoice # and the name of the company he was collecting for (Ameripath) I was able to google Ameripath's phone # and spoke with a rep who provided me with all documentation of the bill I owed. I paid Ameripath directly and I am not being harassed.

However I completely agree with using Alfalfa's methods if you are not in fact the debtor.

Under the TCPA, a consumer has a right to file a lawsuit and recover $500 for each call that violates the TCPA. The TCPA can also be used in conjunction with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in some situations.  

Generally, the TCPA does not apply to debt collectors making collection calls to debtors. However, if you are subjected to calls from a debt collector and you are not the debtor, you may file a lawsuit against the debt collector under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the TCPA.

This right was recently recognized by Judge Legrome D. Davis in a case called Watson v. NCO Group, Inc.  NCO Group is a debt collector that uses automated prerecorded collection calls.  In this case, Mr. Watson alleged he was getting hundreds of calls from NCO Group after he got a new phone number. Mr. Watson claimed he owed no debt to NCO Group, Inc.  Mr. Watson filed suit under both the FDCPA and TCPA.

David Israel, defense lawyer for NCO, argued that the TCPA should not apply to debt collectors.  Judge Davis rejected the argument made by David Israel. The judge ruled that Mr. Watson had a right to sue NCO Group Inc under the TCPA for $500 for each call.  Judge Davis wrote;

[The] Court is convinced that a non-debtor's rights are in fact violated when he is subjected to repeated annoying and abusive debt collection calls that he remains powerless to stop.

Judge Davis' ruling was based upon his interpretation that collection calls to non-debtors violate the privacy rights provided by the TCPA.  

So what can you do if you receive "wrong number" calls from debt collectors?

1. Sign up for the Do-Not-Call registry.
2. Save the calls captured by your voice mail or answering machine.
3. Contact a consumer lawyer.

They have been calling for 6 months  asking for jacquin... no one here by that name.. I've told them no such person was here and they had the wrong number.. they said they would remove my number.... now I'm getting 6-10 calls a day. I looked up the 800 number for NCO they told me we don't have the number you're calling from... it takes 24-48 hours to remove my number... I lost it telling the woman its been months.. she started screaming at me, I asked(Demanded) to talk to her supervisor.. she hung up on me.. Since then I have recieved 8 calls within 45 minutes..These people are nuts!

I receive infrequent calls for "Maribel" on my house phone line.  "No Maribel here."  They usually hang up immediately after I tell them that.  What's interesting is that my house was a rental before I bought it.  The woman who lived here was on medical disability and her name was Maribel.

If this is a legitimate collection agency (however rude they may be), they may be trying to track down a legitimate claim of the person who used to live at my address, even though that person never had this phone number.

I got a call from this number. They are asking for a person who's name they can't even pronounce correctly. He spelled it to me. It's not me, nor any name close to mine. The curious thing is over the past several years I've been getting collection calls for Guadalupe Vasquez, some from local hospitals. That one was left in Spanish.

I almost didn't return this call, but since I got another Guadalupe call, not from this place, just two days ago, I was fairly certain this was another and the harassessment has started again. I asked what kind of business he was, he didn't answer. I accused him of being a telemarketer and he said he wasn't.

He asked me if I was calling from the number where I received their call, and how long I've had my phone number. Maybe I shouldn't have told him, but usually when I answer those questions the calls for this person I don't know stop for a while.

He didn't call me by my name, nor did I tell him.
