I use a google voice phone number it's free and i have over a hundred blocked numbers they get the message were sorry the number you have reached is no longer in service you can also port your current number to it when an unblocked number calls it rings what ever numbers you want it to i love it

These people keep calling someone else's cellphone looking for me. I never used their number so I don't know how they get it. Obviously if I wanted to talk to you I would've replied to the zillion letters you've sent. A certain credit card company screwed me when my bank bounced a payment. The whole thing was a complete accident. I had perfect credit with them up until that one minor mistake but they didn't want to hear it. They responded to my honest mistake by doubling  and tripling my minimum payments so I basically told them to go f*** themselves.

These pieces of trash won't stop calling me. I switched to AT&T about 6-7 months ago and I had to block them because they kept looking for some guy I'd never heard of. May they be forced to have a taste of proletariat justice in the future.

These idiots have apparently bought my debt from a credit card company I owe, or the card company is paying them to harass people.

Unfortunately they made a terrible investment if they bought my debt - after 5 years of temp jobs and burning through my savings and house equity paying off other debts and keeping the water on so my toilet will flush,  the only way I could ever pay them is if someone drops $100,000 on my doorstep.  In this economy,  I may not even be able to continue my life insurance.

These people will garnish your wages.

7-24 So David just called me and asked for me. I asked who's calling and why.  He says again my name and I didn't answer but said why you are? He says you people from the Northeeast are too funny and hung up. Hahahahah laughed my a** off I am funny you hung up on yourself jetk.

I keep getting these calls but they never leave a message and I don't answer the phone. We are retired

I HAVE ALWAYS REFUSED TO PAY A SECONDARY COMPANY.  IF THEY CALL AND YOU SAY TO STOP, ANY CALLS AFTER THAT IS NOW CONSIDERED HARASSMENT AND YOU MAY OBTAIN MONEY FROM THEM LEGALLY.

I just checked my call log, I have them in my log from APRIL thats 3 months. I didn't bother to go back anymore in my log, but If I did I bet there would be more calls. I have never answered them.

They call at all hours. I have calls from 7 am all the way up until almost 10 pm. I signed up for the do not call list from the government last year. And I still get these calls AT LEAST once a day.

Portfolio Recovery.  One of the most persistent and vulgar collection companies out there.

As many have stated, "they break most all collection practices laws on the books"  Why?  
Our Federal Government put fair collection laws into place as a way to pretend that they have concern for those who struggle with the inability to repay debts to credit cards, etc..

Unless you have a ton of time, you cannot really do much to "get even" with the likes of Portfolio Recovery.  They have been breaking these laws for years, and are still in business, so that tells you the level of interest our government has in "Protecting" us against these jack***es.  
What's worse, is that PEOPLE are employed to harass other people in financial trouble.  They are paid to prey on, and cause all manner of angst and stress.  

When you do answer a call, ask the person on the other end how it feels to be paid to make people miserable, how if feels to constantly harass and cause misery, even when they've been asked to stop calling.  Ask the person who calls you how it feels to be a part of a company that breaks the law, and ask how it feels for him/her to be also breaking the law.  Chances are they won't care because it takes a certain type of person to do this job.  IN short, sick and demented..

Us,  the voters, are too lazy and/or complacent and/or unable to force change.  The politicians that we put into office won't lift a finger for us, so VOTE THEM OUT, and get someone in that will.
To make change takes effort.  Get a hold of your state's legislature, and/or representative(s) and INSIST on change.

If not, just sit back and listen to the phone ring.

I?ve had the Digitone phone blocker (www.digitone.com) for my mother for three months now.  She has been getting several calls from numerous area codes and phone numbers, such that I could not keep up programming the Digitone 10.  The majority of the calls were spoofed numbers and spoofed area codes currently not in use.  I now have the ?Global Invite? ?disable? to block all calls.  I then ?Invited? her two local area codes plus three relative?s phone numbers outside of these two area codes.  My mom is so surprised when I tell her that her VOIP website says she received 15 calls today,  she only knows of one or two.

I had looked at this unit two years ago, I could not find any information, including BBB concerning Digitone.  Since I was more desperate and Digitone still had a website, I decided to order a unit: Too bad I didn?t order two years ago.  Even if Digitone 10 was available on Amazon for $120, it would still be worth the money !!

I realize that this sounds like a "paid" message, my mom has gotten over 200 calls in 2 years, and I had to got rid of my landline, the Digitone 10 has really made a difference.

they having been calling my cell phone asking for a women named bonnie something. I keep telling them im not this person and to stop calling me. I have had there # block and like all of you mention they call from another number.  this is harrassment!!!

They KEEP calling and calling and calling - they seem to change their phone number every few days.  What do they think - that I don't have a Call Blocker (cause I do)?  These techniques may have worked ten years ago.  But the corrupt Collection Agency system is outdated & there is really nothing more they can do.

Unless - they change the laws & file a Criminal Complaint against you.  That's what the bank does if you accidentally write checks that your account cannot cover - and then you can't pay it back. The banks now file a "criminal charge" against you & then you have to pay Court Costs & Probation Costs.  We'll all be in Debtors' Prison before you know it.

I set my fax machine to keep dialing with a solid black piece of paper in it. It will keep sending black pages forever. It is on my second line and hope they enjoy the same crap they have been sending me.

I am a private investigator. I searched the number 847/994/2555, and here it is. Call them 2 or 3 times a day. If 10,000 people call them every hour they would wish they were not in the dept collection business. Thanks

I keep getting a call asking for a Juan Menga. I do not know who that is. So obnoxious. I have said this over and over and over. They call every week day, twice a day.

THEY KEEP CALLING...

They must legally in writing show you who the original debit or is, what the original amount is for, from what time period it is from. They must also legally in writing give you 30days to dispute their claim. There is much information you can find on your legal writes on the Internet. You can also tell them to no longer want calls from them and they legally must reply.

If people on these boards would organize a mass protest against this harassment, by thousands of us all calling in all day long bet it would not take more than a week for them to get there records straight.

i got sick of the phone calls for another person, after repeatedly telling them that they had the wrong number, I spent the day, with help from a few friends, calling THEM off the hook and harassing them.

i get calls from 847-994-xxxx usually once a day, I get tired of their BS, so when they ask for me, i usually play with them, telling them to hold please... then i continue working or doing whatever for a minute or so, then ask who they are calling for, and again tell them "hold on, i'll look"... after 3-4 times, i tell them he (me) is not taking calls at the moment.  By law they can not call after 9pm, so when they ask when he (me) is available, I tell them times after 9pm. When they ask who they are leaving the message with, I tell them "his financial adviser"
