I really don't know how they can get away with this. These guys have been pulling the same stunt on me for well over a year now. I answer all my calls as I don't need to avoid anyone but, when you know you don't owe anyone anything, you should just hang up & block the number. This (855) 205-6786 seems to be the latest number they're using since I've blocked all the others. I will do the same here. Problem is, these guys also somehow got a hold of family members info and harass them too. All of which is super illegal. I hope someone bust theses losers at some point. In the mean time, I'll keep blocking them. Scammers!

Man you just got to love this ... nothing different here either except they are looking for someone who had this number before I did.  Made the same threats, toss me in jail for get this "obstructing justice" ... oh please.  Well the long end of it I told them to just come on over personally and don't forget to bring "Bruno" from Chicago.  From there we'll have a discussion in which you soon won't forget.  Being polite and very inviting he refused my invitation.   Be became rather up set for some unknown reason ... I wonder why?  Maybe he didn't like my mob personality ... who knows but it was fun messing with his mind anyways.  Just the same to everyone out here, debt collectors can not do what this scam company is doing.  It sure would be nice if the true law would step in and take these companies down like they deserve.  But as the world turns, I'm sure somebody from the enforcement end is getting paid to look the other way.  If not, it sure appears to look that way.  Anyways, just add these bone heads to your block list, and when it comes time to go through your voice mail, don't bother to listen... just hit delete.  They can only call you for so long and eventually they will give up.  Until then just laugh it off because there is nothing they can do about it.  I like the idea of the air horn ... I should try it on my mother in-law ...  maybe that'll shut her up ..  Oh before I forget, you have more right under the fair protection act that you may realize.  Please look it up and read it.  It will give you all kinds of help in telling you about your right and what to do with these companies.

I got another call today using a different number 240 630 4756 which is a spoof number. They want you to call back 855 205 6786. Same URG and I don't owe them money. They call using all types of sneaky tactics and the calls are automated. Don't pay them. They can contact you in writing if you owe the debt.

I keep getting a call from a number from 308 area code which is Grand Island, Nebraska.  The message sounds very official saying it's an important legal matter either me, or my attorney needs to contact their office.  The number they leave is this very number so I decided to look them up.  I've never talked to a live person, but I get at least one call a day from the 308 number. Is this 8552056786 number really a scam?  If anyone has any other information please blog it here.  Thanks!

They call me also and people in my family.  Its URG. Its a scam.  When I ask for a valid copy of the debt, from who, what, where and how it was done they just hang up or say to me that the police will arrest me in 24 hours.  Well its been months and im still here lol. They stopped calling for a month or so and then call from a different number.  Low life scum bags and hope the place they work burns down with all of them in the building.  DONT GIVE THEM ANY INFO AND JUST TELL THEM TO GO F**K OFF.

I got another call from them today. Same automated message. They were calling me using a different 855 number and we blocked it. Now they are using spoof number in the State you live in so you will pick up the phone. States to press 0 to be connected or call back this 855 205 6786. I knew it was a scam and the people are rude an nasty. The lady wants you to verify all your personal info which I won't do. If it is such an important legal matter they would have your address and correspond via mail. Air Horn it is!

Receiving calls to return a call to this number in regards to charges of bank fraud and theft by deception for a payday loan I never took. Called these people multiple times, asked for verification etc, They are always rude and nasty so I refused to confirm anything and told them to deal with me via mail only. Of course they continue to call so I reported them to PA attorney general. Received call today from Attorney General office stating this is in fact a SCAM and what they are doing is illegal. They unfortunately "spoof" their numbers so they can't be traced. If you get this call, blow an airhorn into the phone and hang up on this scum.

Have received 15 calls in the past 2 days. All calls are calling from 417-385-1804. First 10 times I let it ring and they left no message. When I answered, I heard the automated message and hung up. The last time was 10 minutes ago and I hit the ignore button. They left message saying that I needed to call them immediately and left the 855-205-6786 phone number. I'm not calling them back because it is a scam and I will not fall for it!

I received an automated message on my voice mail stating me to call the 855 205 6786.
The original number called from was 210 538 3448 which is probably a spoof number.
I had been getting this same type of call from another 855 number same thing message.
Important legal matter.
If it is such an important legal matter then notify in writing. I called URG in Utah and they said they are not associated with these numbers. When asking the person what URG stands for they say it doesn't stand for anything. Well the legitimate company is United Recovery Group.
Whoever these people are, they are extortionists and trying to take money from people by scaring them.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

I'VE RECIEVED THE 6th call from URG for a Sabian Counts. Now they are using an autodialer and recording.  I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission regarding this problem with URG.  Seems that as soon as I tell the CSR on the other end that I've contacted the Feds... they hang up.  All the other times I was assured that my number would be taken of their call list. One of the questions from the Feds was what did I think would be a reasonable punishment for them.  I stated $300 ans jail time for every call after the first one where I told them that I didn't even know who they were looking for.  Bet if more were to call the Fed Trade Commission and file complaints the quicker URG will get caught or go out of business!

A man named Christian Benson called and left a message on my phone saying that this would be the last call from him and I need to adress the claim I have against me. Funny as he called and left a message for someone with a different name just yesterday. Clearly this is bogus, I have no claims. I certainly hope he is telling the truth and this will be the last call he makes to me!

DO NOT ANSWER calls from that number.  It's a ploy.  I received a similar call.  Trust me if you were going to be arrested they would not be calling you and if you did receive a call it would be from a police department or intelligence agency.  The people who make those calls are slime.

Beware!!!! The 855 numbers are charged to the receiving party so DO NOT answer.  I received a call from 773-897-0739.  A "Victor Lopez" left a message saying he was calling to verify my work and business address.  He also said that I was going to be arrested the same day and asked that I return his call at 855-205-6786.   To begin with, the 773 number from which he called is not operational. Secondly, if he was on my way to arrest me he would have presumably already had the address.  Most important of all, I DO NOT OWE ANYTHING.  Scammers are becoming more prevalent but easier to detect.
