RE 855-223-8970

Had a call on March 3rd 2014 from this same "unknown" place. ERF. Said I had 2 cases of check fraud and attempting to fraud a financial institution. Gave me a case number and said to call the 855-223-8970 number. Also said they were working with a Sheriff's office and were coming to "serve" me.

Thank you all for doing your due diligence a reporting this scam. My wife nearly had a heart attack!

I got a call from a Sam Dodi stating my account was presented on her desk and that I or my legal representative should call back with the case number quoted. Thanks for your posts. I know now it's a scam.

Barbara Wilson called my mom, my husband's old work phone, my husband's new phone (thanks to the moron that has his old work phone) and my cell phone. Claiming she was in the area looking to serve papers for "check fraud". Thankfully did not fall for this (this was prior to anyone reporting the number they gave to call back). Nearly had a serious anxiety attack though.

855 223 8970 call from Ms Wilson claiming to be in my area. Said she was at sherrifs department to come with warrant/summons for check fraud. Told me to cal the 855 number. said they were a companie called ERF.Even gave me a case #. When I asked what comaopny it was that was instigating the alleged legal proceedings it was some payday loan outfit out of Virginia? I hng up on them and called my local sheriff and PD. They knew nothing about it and said it sounded like a scam. They called me at my work place number, called another department head and my employers direct cell phone line attempting to gain information.

Received a call that someone was calling me from the court 304 and it was a relative, and they were going to be prosecuted- the person being prosecuted was Daniel Matthew, and person calling was Richard Ross.  I did not return call, I knew this had to be a prank call because I do not have a relative named Daniel!!!

They called me asking if I knew my mom ... then said she was being sued for a bad check and asked me to get a hold of her to let her know and have her call this number back. She is the most unlikely person to have a bounced/bad check, so I searched the number and found these other posts ... now confirms that it's a lie.

Do they leave a voicemail? I get a call from an UNKNOWN number and they leave a call back number of 855-223-8970 stating I am being sued for check fraud. I don't write checks and just use my debit card so I know it's a lie.
