From what I have read here it must have been a political call. Lucky me, I wasn't near the phone to answer. I hate these calls. It is not going to solve a thing.

You do realize that for quite some time the rate of returns t-bills were lower than projected inflation right? That means it was cheaper to borrow the money today than wait a year to save up enough.

In August 2011 T-Bill rate was 3.39% for a 30 year note. The actual measure inflation rate for that same period? ~3.75%. That's just one month and I don't really want to look around for more. But hey, it's all public information.

The government is not shut down because of Tea Party conservatives. It is shut down because some with some common sense know we cannot continue on the path of reckless spending. Do you know what the national debt is and what it means for our future? It is frightening. Inform yourself. WHERE is the money coming from?? All the rich people in the nation do not have enough to cover the debt this president has put us in.

Really? I guess you're sitting pretty with a gold-plated insurance plan and don't have to worry about any financial hardship when Obamacare becomes fully implemented? I was notified by my health insurance company that I will lose my coverage in January and I'll be dumped into the exchanges. Guess what, I cannot afford the cheapest plan they offer!! So now I will have to choose between food & shelter and medical care ... AND I have a chronic health condition (asthma before you decide to make a smarta$$ comment) for which I have to see a doctor regularly!

I only work part-time and will not be able to afford the cheapest plan! Gee, I thought Obama said that if we like our current plan, we can keep it. Another lie.

I've been getting these calls for a while now, I spoke to them once and I just don't pick up when I see the number now. I support their agenda, but I don't have the money to donate to them. Sadly like all political calls from all sides, they hound you until you have to shout over them insisting you can't contribute or hang up on them.

Regarding political issue:  My health care costs have gone up significantly, but as a productive citizen I deserve paying higher rates to cover those few American's were not covered and for the millions of illegal citizens.
Remember the hater of capitalism, Karl Marx, who said: FROM each according to his ability, TO each according to his need.  Certainly there are a lot of needy out there.

He authorized the funneling of Libyan arms (over 40 tons) via Benghazi to the Syrian rebels, including Al Queada.  He voted AGAINST going to war when over 3,000 people were murdered on American soil, he did nothing when four American's were killed in Benghazi, but now he wants to commit us to ANOTHER WAR!!!!

On racism, remember, that the KKK was formed by Democrats while the Radical Republicans lead the emancipation for slave freedom. Almost 1/3 of the men, women and children lynched by the KKK were white Republicans.  Soul food is not African-American. It's the substandard food allowed to their slaves that they learned to cook as best they could. The Democratic slave owners got the best of the pork, not the innards. Those went to the slaves.  Now our people are ENSLAVED again by bitterness, hatred, welfare and dependant on the politicians (slave owners).
Study history and learn the Constitution and Bill of Rights.  The enemies of our nation and people want to create discord - racial tension, class envy, political turmoil - "never let a good crisis go to waste" is how socialist/communists create the crisis for them to take over.
There are plenty of black candidates I would have supported, but not Barack Hussein Obama because of his political, anti-Christian, pro-Muslim, socialist, anti-imperilist views.
