To my thinking this is a scam artist debt collection agency.  Michelle please check list for your states debt Statute of Limitations on this website http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/statuteLimitations.shtml.  Also the fair debt collection act forbids the kind of threats these people are making to you, so I advise you also to contact your states attorney general and file a complaint with them as well.  If you can not afford a regular attorney there are programs like Legal Shield which allow you to pay a small monthly fee to have lawyers available for consultation regarding these kinds of matters, and they will represent you if you need it.  If you can not afford even this type of protection I suggest checking at local colleges, and universities that have law degree programs, as many have low income law clinics available to the public.  I wish you the best of luck in resolving this matter with them.

Left a message it states "This is Creditors calling regarding a file that is in our office before we make a decision on action that is to be taken.  You can press 1 now to be connected to our operators, or you can call us back at (same number)."  We have received several calls from company from several different numbers, but all are 855 prefixes, and the caller ID always identifies them by "office', never a company name.  The recording never lists a name.  If a call does not state it is for me, or my husband, then I am not calling it back.  I looked the company on the internet, and they are a debt collection agency.  Sounds like a  phishing scam to me!

Hi Amy did the person who called you from Creditors was his name Minrow Godfree.And did he yell at you over the phone .I had three calls from them all ready today in the last 20 minutes asking to talk to my husband told them he was at work  he called me a liar and bad names new every thing about my husband were he works everthing even new that we did our taxes all ready and my husbands pin numbers on his pay rolls checks he get from work .Even his social clames he got it off the computer. what did they do to you may i ask this is about some thing that was six years ago they said he was going to get arested today at work.

This number called me and didn't know who I was and stated that they were going to serve me papers?

I just got the same call 4 minutes ago.  Will not call or answer anyone that does not leave a business name.

Just got a call from this number saying something about a file they have of ours for review.  Asked us to call the number here to find out about it.  Call started out with "This is Creditors".

Yes, I had one on my answering machine when I got home.  Tried calling and it rang about 10-12 times then went to voicemail saying "the person at extension #### is away from their desk..." then I hung up.

Whatever!  It definitely sounds like a scam.
