Debt Collector
I got a call from James Randall and of course first thing I thought scam....kept talking with him and actually they accepted my terms on how much I could pay them biweekly and agreed. I completely forgot about the loan years ago...guess with interest or something it went up to $3,000 but they were willing to accept the original loan amount $625 and since I couldn't pay it all up front I told them I could do $100 biweekly and they were great about it. The day before Thanksgiving I had to call them to discuss the payment that was due on that Friday and told them I was out of work 2 weeks and wasn't going to get a check till Dec. 20. They asked if I could pay some so I paid them $50 on it. Mine will be paid off by January. They're legit and worked with me!

got a call today from them about a pdl venture payday loan I took out in 2008 I also received a letter from them in the mail about this matter, my brother is an attorney and after looking over the letter he contacted them on my behalf. He advised me that they are a legit debt collection company and the debt was still valid. After I paid them on a recorded line with their payment processing department I received a confirmation email.

Orlando, the same thing happened to me. I never got a loan from them. Yes I checked into it but never went through with it. I as well can get proof from the bank i had at the time. I think most people on here really did take out loans. However, some of us didn't and we are being harrassed at home and work and threatened. I am contacting the FTC to see what can be done because I don't need them sending anything to my HR Dept. talking about garnishment. Then that's when I will sue any and everybody.

Hello, I want to reply to the message below because i am also being called by these people.  Now i looked into getting a payday loan like over 3 years ago and even went as far as putting in my information. However, i never took out a loan with them. EVER!!!!   I had to close my bank account I had at the time because they was taking out fees from it.  It's crazy...   So please don't judge people on here and especially If they are like myself and really don't know why they are being harrassed about. So is it a real company, I am sure it is. Why they trying to get money out of me for no reason, is a scam to me. NOW, I don't know about anyone else, but I never took out a loan or went through it so why THEY are trying to sue me i really dont know. They are calling my phone and my job phone. And threatening to garnish my wages. WHY????

called and left a message, after they contacted my mother in law. I did remember the loan I took out but thought my consolidation company paid this off after contacting blue ridge law group (COMPANY I THOUGHT TOOK CARE OF THIS) they informed me it was not included and they I should pay it if they were offering a good deal. I will call them back and see what the offer is. I don't believe they are scamming at all. Just my opinion though...

A divorce attorney is not necessarily knowledgeable in matters related to debt collection. There are numerous laws and requirements to which a debt collector must adhere. For example, did you call them yourself, verify your information, and then provide them verbal authorization to speak to your attorney? If not, they just violated the law. Did they provide the numerous pieces of documentation that a collector is required to provide to validate a debt? Are they licensed in your state of residence for debt collection (I can say with 100% surety they are not licensed in mine)? Was the debt even valid under your state law (in many instances - this one included - collectors are collecting for payday loan lenders, whose practices violated state law, which immediately invalidates the debt assuming that the fees charged amounted to the original principle).

I got a call yesterday and then googled their number and read over all these comments, I then called my divorce atty and explained to him the phone call and the comments I read. He called me back this morning after speaking to them and it is a legit debt I owe, its on my credit report and they sent my atty all the info. can someone explain to me how it could still be a scam. They convinced my atty so I am ready to pay. 855-404-8767 United States Mediation

I did the exact same thing as this guy and found out this company is a fake. How w
Could I owe something I paid in full 2weeks after the loan I had gotten? Their fake office is ran right out of a home  with other individuals who scam right along with them, so be very careful before you pay anything to a phony company . I think we all should track and find these dumb a***s and show them a piece of our mind. IDIOTS!!!!  And if you believe they are so real you'd be better off dropping money in your street letting it fly around your neighborhood   Cause chances are at least someone who really needs it might find it instead of these greedy f****

This place is not real. I called the frad dept where I originally had gotten my loan that I had paid in full  and they made me call the FBI and federal trade commission to report fraud, I also gave their numbers and fax numbers federal trades phone number is 1-877-382-4357. If you knew any better in order to collect a legit dept from someone who owes one you need  notarized  documents from  the previous owner  of the debt who sold it , that's why it's a good ideal to keep those phone number handy

On November 4, I was left a voice message by someone claiming to be from 'Global Investments and Acquisitions' at (404) 220-9783. They made vague threats regarding litigation and serving paperwork through my home county's justice department. They asked that I contact United States Mediation at (855) 404-8767.

When I called back both numbers, they were both answered with the greeting "United States Mediation", indicating that the person on the voice message misidentified her employer.

On November 7, I received an e-mail from United States Mediation, the gist of which was the same as the phone call.

No fax number or mailing address was included on the mail message, and so I responded with a standard debt validation request coupled with a cease-and-desist notice for telephonic communication.

I also checked my state's Department of Finance website, which includes a list of all licensed debt collectors in my state; United States Mediation and Global Investments and Acquisitions did not appear on the list, nor did any debt collector with either phone number left.

No federally-required validation documentation has been provided at this point, and today (roughly a half-hour ago) I received another call from the same area code 404 number, with the same message.

At this point, the debt collector has violated several federal debt collection regulations as well as a state debt collection law. The early notes on this phone number are more than likely from paid shills of the company; this company appears to be just another law-violating junk debt buyer, and should be treated as such.

It's really funny when you check out a number, the history starts in the last 2 months and 90% of the comments are written in 3rd grade english from the scumbag telemarketers who work for these trash collectors.  This is the deal people, debt companies like U.S. Mediators buy old charged off debt for pennies on the dollar, then they start their own Boiler Rooms or sub out the work to other Boiler rooms and try to collect money on old, already defaulted debt.  The original debt that you owe money to has already been charged off and the original company has taken a tax write off from that bad debt.  So this is FREE MONEY to whoever can collect it!   You are a fool if you believe that these posts were written by anyone but tools who work for U.S. Mediators and you are a fool if you give them a single DIME!  BTW I'm on the DO NOT CALL list, and I don't have a debt with any of these companies.  The charge for calling a person on the FTC Do Not Call list is $12,000 PER CALL!  The will be getting a bill from me for $12,000.  I hope they keep calling!!!  Because it's $12,000 per call, no matter how many calls!

~~~~NOT A SCAM~~~~    ~~~~DEBT COLLECTOR~~~~
i was informed by my attorney today to give them a call because they contacted him and he gave them hell to make sure they werent just some scam artists, He knew they were legit because they were willing to actuall call him and complied with eveything he asked for. Everyone that keeps writing that this is a scam should scape up enough money to actually get an attorney and then have your attorney deal with all your debts, anyways i called them and paid it off, received an email confirmation immediately after paying.
well sylvia I spoke with them this morning and I feel the same way you do I am thinking that the people who write negative comments are people who are irresponsible and don't want to take care of their obligations I am a firm believer of accepting what ive done and taking care of it now im not gonna say I took care of all my business in a timely fashion but eventually I came around. This company checks out they sent me a dunning notice and I paid my BMG Payday loan off today!
called them today and was actually treated with respect and dignity they didn't threaten to put a warrant out for my arrest like companies have done in the past I explained to them I was willing to resolve the debt with out further action and I now am set to pay 365/month not a bad deal. People who write anything negative about this company is someone you shouldn't trust and most likely just don't want to pay their own debt. I'm guilty of it too I don't pay all my debts I owe.
Not so sure about the level of legitimacy.       Probably because organizations like that tend to use apostrophes, and  with accuracy.
