It's Rogers. I'm also Canadian, checked area codes and found 855 is a toll-free number for Canada/US (like 800). They had hung up on me too and I had to use *69 to find out the number - which costs money. But having found out it's a toll free number, I called back and ...it's Rogers.
Can we do a class-action lawsuit against Rogers when their sales calls cost us money...? Any lawyers out there care to organize some such thing?

Been calling me couple times a day for last few days. Answered with Hello few times but nothing back from the other side. I am guessing this is Rogers customer service but anyway just added to reject list. Hope that will work.

In recent weeks, I've been getting calls rom this number every day, sometimes twice a day.  I have never answered and don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize.  My phone is with Rogers and it seems over the last few years I've been getting more and more of these telemarketing calls.  Big companies, like Rogers, often sell "lots" of phone numbers to third party telemarketers, just like these f**kbags who keep calling me.  Seriously, f**k them, and f**k big companies like banks who sell your phone number to these f**ks.

if anyone wishes to now how to get better prices at rogers, as said, go to the forum at red flag deals and with cancelling rogers and getting that 30 day cancel, you go to the thread talking about it and take note of their recent "win back phone number" for usually they will call you back within 2-3 days but IF for any reason you miss it, you just call the number u find on that thread and say :hi, did you guys just call me? Someone did? and IF you really are on the 30 day cancel plan they will then give you the best deal you can get if you will stay with rogers. But they won't deal with you unless you truly are on t he 30 day plan so no point in trying to jump the que for you won't get anywhere. YOU MUST cancel for them to offer you the deal......so in essence, you never really quit only threaten to do so...........and if anyone suggests that my writing this here is going to cause problems or that Rogers will read my post I can assure you they already know about all the posts but still figure 98% of their customers pay full price way up and beyond w hats right so they aren't worried about those of us that know how to negotiate for lower bills with them.

I don't believe you are right. I follow all those threads about Winback and various 3rd party numbers that Rogers uses to "win back" customers that have cancelled, so that people who are smart know they will call back and offer deals that they will NEVER offer if you call Rogers.

I JUST recently got a $45-300 gig internet deal from Rogers that way, with a free modem, plus I got 30% off my VIP TV for one year, a free PVR for one year, plus free installation on Whole Home Networking........and could have got a home phone fully loaded for $14 but refused that.
I also called Rogers 3 months after taking out a smart phone, Samsung Galaxy G4 and paying $105 monthly for a 6 gig share deal so when I woke up from the coma after 3-4 months of paying that ridiculous price, I phoned Rogers and told them I was tired of paying that high a bill and to tell me how much it would cost for me to get out of Rogers as I wanted to buy out my whole contract that night and go somewhere cheaper, like Wind.............he went away for 2 minutes, came back and told me I could have it for $90 for the year, a savings only of $15 but better in my pocket then in theirs.........and come the end of the year I shall do the same again and pay no more for the remaining months.

That was 3 or so months ago so there is NO REASON for Rogers too be calling me back to "win" me back........usually those 3rd parties are actually calling from inside Rogers in the city you reside in anyhow. They can give you those deals although they are in Rogers, in their buildings, but none of the other sales people can so you MUST quit in order to get them. You cancel your services which you then have 30 days for them to truly quit but usually within 2-3 days, someone from Rogers, but not just anyone, someone only from one of these win back type departments, then calls you and offers you the bottom best deals you will f ind.....................any doubts, look up the forums on Red Flag Deals and look in the sales area for the various Rogers threads. Look for the ones that are 600+ pages long and you will see how it all works and how we all pay less than ? of our bill yearly with Rogers..............knowing all i know, I highly doubt that this number is the sales area you are spacing of and believe these guys to be part of some scam, but i say that ONLY becauseI have no reason for Rogers to be calling me and because I haven't actually had anyone talk when I have picked up to this caller twice no voice speaks up so I believe it to be a scammer, but which one and why I am yet to figure out    :)

They claimed to be Rogers (thought it was weird it was from the US), didn't say anything for a while, spoke ridiculously fast when they did (though they knew my name), and said they were offering rewards to their valued customers. They had woken me up, so I just figured it was a survey or something, so I told them I was busy right now and to call some other time. Now I know from reading others comments to never answer it again.

This f***ing number calls me every day. So, so annoying. I chose to ignore it but couple of times I answered this call, there was no one on the phone, just eerie silence. And after about 20 seconds the call gets disconnected. Wish I could lay my hands on this dumbo...

this is Rogers Sales Dept.  I had internet, cable tv, and mobile with them for 25 years - always paid my bills on time, i was their dream customer.  when i called to see if i could negotiate a better price, they offered me crap.  i finally  switched to teksavvy for internet, and fido for mobile.  i've kept my cable tv with them only because i haven't yet done the research to find another provider - i don't like bell either!  now that i've cancelled with rogers, they keep calling and offering to match my price with fido & teksavvy.  HOW ABOUT "NO!".  now that i've been with teksavvy and fido for over a year, i actually know that GREAT customer service can be had!!! when i used to call rogers for service or billing, i'd be routed and transfered from dept. to dept. - (they outsource their customer service to india, and their technical support to the phillipines - they are certainly polite, however, i find them to be very incompetent!!!)
they should have retained me as a customer from the get-go when i called to negotiate.  instead, they pretty much forced me to cancel my services - and now they keep calling to offer all kinds of promos.  WELL, I'M NOT INTERESTED!!!  go grovel somewhere else.

Called 12 times in last 3 days- including a call at 23:15 last night. No voicemail left. WHen I did answer this evening, she said she was calling 'on behalf' of Rogers, then she tried to get me to confirm my details (address, services with Rogers  "for their files"...) when I told them a)Rogers would never ask for a password b) that I doubted she was actually acting on behalf of Rogers and c)that I wanted her employee ID and location, she hung up really fast.  I'm guessing they're going to call again tomorrow and the day after...

Prank Call
Hi all,
As a follow up to my earlier post; I have contacted rogers and these phone calls have not been authorized by them. The phone number is not one of theirs. It is recommended that you do not answer these calls and especially that you do not give any personal information to them. If you do, you are putting yourself at risk for fraud and identity theft. Please be careful.
