I too got a call over a holiday weekend claiming to be merchant services calling to discuss recent updates to my account.
JW 2013-05-23 16:24:40 Telemarketer
I am sorry to say I fell right into this "mandatory update"call I received. I mean... hook, line, AND sinker. They had me right from the jump. Of course when anyone calls and leaves a message on a Sunday afternoon, saying "call back to make a mandatory update to your merchant processing" I have to believe its urgent!! There was no doubt in my mind that it was legit. I called back, then sent in a copy of my current statement. I wasn't really sure why they needed it, but what the heck. Anyways long story short, they had no connection with my current processor.
What a complete waste of my time...

It is a scam... There website, they are just phishing for business. http://www.yournms.com/contact-us/
Customer. 2013-02-25 21:08:47 Unknown
Gary, they advise that you contact your current merchant services provider about the industry updates after they inform you. You would have known that, had you actually called back.
Gerry 2013-02-24 20:56:34 Unknown
Got a call today (Sunday) from this number,.I am sure it is a scam. CALL YOUR PROVIDER TO CONFIRM, before you call this number back
Mike 2013-02-12 17:43:37 Unknown
Got a call from this number at 11:35am on Sunday from "Jeanette" claiming to need "mandatory changes" to Merchant Services account. Like the others above, my true credit card provider said my account is fine. Must be a scam of some sort.
J 2013-02-04 17:49:02 Unknown
Called our company on Sunday and left message saying "mandatory change" had to be made to our merchant services account. Left message saying we had to call Janette back ....
I called thinking it may be something important ..
Got young girl who told me they had to check I was "up to date" with our credit card machine ?
I asked "up to date in what respect" ?
"With your credit card machine" was the enlightening response I got ..
Told her we'd received a call saying "important change" had to be made ....... asked her what the "important change" was ?
"With your credit card machine" was the reponse
Asked her what the change was and whay did it have to be made ....
She didn't answer first half of question ... just told me it was "Mandatory" ..
I gave up and hung up .... hard to have conversation with someone who is only programmed to repeat the same phrases over and over ........wish these people had something better to do with their time ....

Jordan 2013-01-28 14:00:48 Telemarketer
Same, today from Paige. She sounded like, "you should have received your statement last week..." funny thing is we don't get statements because we don't have a merchant account any more! :) hahaa.

If you will call the # back and tell them that they are not your credit card terminal provider, they will remove you from their call list.
Josh 2013-01-09 13:23:09 Unknown
Got the same call on 1/6/13. They didn't identify which company they are with and it's not mine. THIS IS A SCAM because they are fraudulently leading people to become their customers.
Gayle 2013-01-08 19:42:30 Unknown
I received a call from this number at work. My merchant service provider has a password set up with me, that way there is no mistake who the phone call is from. I will not return the call. The message also said that it is a mandatory update of our equipment.
Joseph 2013-01-07 13:33:14 Unknown
Continuously get calls from this number claiming to be my merchant services provider. This particular call this weekend the woman identified herself as Paige. They insist we return the call as it is an urgent mandatory update. I contacted our actual merchant service provider and they assured me that we have everything up to date and to avoid the scam phone calls.

Received a call Sunday afternoon on my business number. Pretty much said what others have posted. I do not take credit cards. Strange they call on a Sunday.

Call came on Sunday, claiming to be from Merchant Services, stated that we needed to do a mandatory update and to call back this week. Call did not originate with our credit card processing company. Scam, bogus, not a valid call.

A person name Sara, called today, on Sunday around 11:00 am, about merchant credit card services mandatory updates..
smoke 2012-10-29 13:21:41 Unknown
SHILL!!
Stan 2012-10-29 12:56:32 Unknown
Now "Sarah" there is a mandatory update the V/MC is requiring, but at no cost to you.
Again, a Sunday afternoon call.
Jenny 2012-10-22 15:28:49 Unknown
Since these calls are predominantly placed on Sunday mornings, that is perfect timing for it to be Monday morning in India.....

We had a message on our business line telling us about a mandatory update from Visa and Mastercard and how they were going to help us with it, blahdeeblahdeeblah. Every person in our company is college educated and absolutely not an idiot. We know who our merchant services company is, and they will ALWAYS identify themselves with the company name when they call. They also do not leave messages on our voicemail on a Sunday morning. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. This goes right along with the jack***es that call and say, "I am calling about the copier. Can you give me the number off the front?" They hang up when I ask what company they are calling from. No company doing LEGITIMATE business will have a problem identifying themselves by company and operator name. I suggest that if you see this number on your caller ID, don't even answer, let alone call back.

Called my personal cell line. Google Voice marked it as spam. I don't own a business or have a merchant account. It's an obvious scam. "Hi Joe, this is. I'm calling in reference to your merchant services account about a mandatory after 8, but I think Visa and MasterCard and let me know when you're ready to accept credit cards. We had a smart phone technology good and I'll talk to you about is mandatory. Please call me back. This Week at 55. Hello 3329, hey 5 Again the number is (855) 033-2985. Thank you and have a great day."
Not_taking_the_bait 2012-10-08 19:18:23 Unknown
Same as many others already posted.
Was left message on Sunday regarding mandatory change with merchant services account and taking credit cards on smart phones.
Why on Sunday?
Don't go fishing in this pond - these fish aren't biting.
Angry 2012-09-23 23:20:29 Unknown
Called business line on a Sunday, just like the others have reported. V.M. said something like, "This is Kayla. (she did NOT identify her business name) We want to talk to you about your merchant services account regarding your terminal, etc. etc. Call me back at..." I am a small business owner. I don't HAVE a terminal. I do not take credit cards, nor do I use personal credit cards. SCAM.
Wilder Napalm 2012-09-23 18:06:18 Unknown
So I take it you work for these low life's. I too am a small business owner that doesn't take credit cards yet these people want to speak to me about my account. Clearly you have no idea what your talking about.
