Yep. More scammer BS.  If you really were going to be served a court summons, the caller would HAVE your address.  Process servers also do not call you and ask you to contact the person you allegedly owe money to - process servers just SERVE court summons, etc.  You also can't "officially be notified" of anything via email, fax or phone/voice mail.   Please do report your callers to the FTC, FCC, FBI and your state's Attorney General.  More info here:

A lady who gave her name as being Ashley Pope called my home phone number, claiming to need an address of residence and employment for my step-daughter.  The message was received on JAN-24-2014 at 2:16 PM (CST) and was received from telephone number 608-448-3286.  The actual recorded message (minus my step-daughters name) went like this:

"This information is intended for (First / Last Names); Claim # 1810614. This is Ashley Pope and I?m contacting you regarding an order that was submitted from my office this morning.  I need to verify an address to present you with your formal claim at your residence and place of an employment. Miss (Last Name), you have charges in the claim against you.  At this point you have one opportunity to contact the firm handling your claim to discuss this matter.  They can be reached at 855-462-6814. Your claim number listed on the order is 1810614.  (First / Last Names), you have officially been notified."  ~~ End of Recorded Message ~~

Received a call from "Michael Powers" claiming my name was listed as reference/contact person on "claim" for a person I've never heard of.  Wouldn't say how they got my number or what the company name was....SCAM ALERT!!
