I got a call from this number the other day. It was a representative from ivy tech calling to see if I planned on returning and to inform me that I should sign up for classes soon as they start filling up in July. He didn't ask me any personal questions at all or for any information except whether or not I'd signed up for classes yet. I'm pretty sure it is legit, but if they had asked for any info I wouldn't have given it to them.

As a current student, I decided to call IvyLine (1-888-IVY-LINE) to see if they could tell me anything.  They said they DO NOT have this number in the Ivy Tech database.  If these people call again, and if there is a live person on the phone, as them what their department is, who they are, and who they report to, then inform them that you will call their office back from the number listed on the Ivy Tech (campus connect) White Pages.  

Do not supply them with your information.  I called this number and listened to the message, and their was no department or office listed in the message.

Automatic message asking I call back. also something about taxes and stopsoms didn't spell it out but even after listening again could not make out what was being said. Just please call this number.

Same thing happened to me today and like you I havent been in school in years.

DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION OUT and for that matter DO NOT ANSWEAR YOUR PHONE.

Ivy tech for sure about registering for classes

Just got a call from this number. I didn't answer. Received a partial voice mail about needing assitance with re-enrolling? I haven't attended school for a number of years and I'm not sure why a school would be calling me. Addtionally they called my cell and it's on the Do Not Call Registry. :(

They stated they were from Ivy Tech and wanted me to go back to finish a degree.

How they got this info I don't know, but it sounds like info from Ivy Tech was leaked.

How do they know I  just enrolled two days ago? Only the school knows! How are they getting this information about me and Ivy tech?

I just got the same automated call..."trying to connect, please hold," etc then call ended. I'm glad I googled the number! I hope they don't keep trying to call me.

I received a call from this number yesterday 7/1/13.  Only an automated message was left, telling me: "This is Ivy Tech Community College Financial Aid Department... we need to speak to you about your loan.  Call us back at 855-703-7135 with reference number ___."

Doubting that anyone from Ivy Tech needed to speak with me, I called the financial aid office at my own campus and asked if there was an issue that needed attention.  As suspected, they told me there is no issue.

I believe this is a debt collector trying to get information.

Just recieved a call from this number and they asked for personal information to "verify" my financial aid! They wanted to know if my financial aid had processed or not. I would not give them any information! Not sure if they are legit or not, but it seemed really odd. They were asking about my fall semester when summer semester just started. WEIRD!

just received a call from this number and it was an automated voice trying to connect the call.  I was on hold for several seconds with the update of still trying to connect, the final update was sorry could not connect, will try again later.  After readng the posts here, if this is Ivy Tech, I already get a ton of emails with reminders almost daily, so why would they then find it necessary to call using some automated dialing service.  I did receive a legitamate call from Ivy Tech to correct some informatin they were processing, but it was an 888 number, whith a person on the other end when I answered who already had all of my information from my registrations.
I wouldn't give any information to anyone who calls from this 855 number.

It took three calls for them to actually answer the phone when they called. The woman said she was from Ivy Tech asking about financial aid verification. I was just at the school last week talking to them about verification and still needed some help, so I told her this. I had read the posts on here, so I didn't plan on giving her any information. Plus I know that whenever Ivy Tech calls it's from the Lafayette campus and comes up with that number. Anyway, after I told her I needed more help she said that she's calling to check up and if I needed any help just give that number a call. I told her thank you and she hung up. The whole conversation was pretty pointless, but I thought it odd she was asking about verification when I had just been in for that. Either way, the whole deal seemed sketchy. I'd say if you're going to Ivy Tech and you have any questions just call a campus. This number can't be right.

Received a call from this number as a reminder to register for Spring 2013. I Let the caller know I was all set and he asked if I would like to be removed from the calling list and I said that it would be fine. He then asked me for my C# which would allow a person to access student information including loan information. I called Ivy Tech and the person I spoke to in student affairs said it was not from Ivy Tech and not to give any personal information to them and the school already has that information if they need it after all ...they called me.

This phone number showed up "unknown" and when I tried to answer it the first time nobody was there and it disconnected. I called it back and that's when I spoke to the gentleman that asked for my information. When I asked again where he was calling from he said he was from Ivy Tech. When I refused to give him the information he wanted he got upset and I told him I wasn't comfortable with giving that information on the phone. NEVER give your personal information if you are not sure they are who they say they are.
