Debt Collector
This number is not a scam, people.   They've resorted to calling my cell phone now after months of calling my house through the automated system, and the first call to my cell phone I answered because I thought it was something else.  It's not a scam because the collection agent had precise information that only exists in my RBC information and commented on the range of services I have with RBC.  She also pulled credit bureau info and commented on that.  Now, while that was irritating and maybe over the line, it does not constitute a scam.  Over the months RBC has been trying to collect their debt from me, there have been many different phone numbers - I was writing them down at one time, but stopped.

Just because you call up some legitimate RBC number, don't think for one second that they're going to reveal any truth to you.  They use 1-866 AND 1-855.  NEVER once have I received a number from 1-800 and a lot of people think that makes a call legitimate.  RBC has also lied to me about procedure - they've said one thing and done another.  When I've pointed out blatant lies, I get the line, "well I can't verify what someone else said to you on the phone."  They will cover their own @ss and that means selling you out.  So there is little point in calling to verify legitimacy.  The practices for debt collection are very sketchy no matter what the law says.

Be careful with this people!  They called me, non-stop, day or night.  I received a voicemail from them one day... They knew my name, and that it was tied to the cellphone they were calling (the cellphone account isn't in my name), and then they rattled off some "reference number".
What was that "reference number"?  It was my client card number!  I verified with the real RBC that the number was fake, and called these people demanding to know what they know about me, and how they got that information.  I didn't give them any info except my phone number (which they won't stop calling!).  They claim to have my address, account numbers, DOB... And my name!

Please be careful, and don't give them any info!

This number kept on calling everyday just to look for my parents. I told them that they're not at home at the moment and that if it's a urgent matter if they could go to a "RBC Bank" instead of calling, since it may be faster. Guess what she say to me? "Anyways, call that number as soon as possible." After hearing what she said to me, I just hang up the phone. No customer service would say "Anyways", that just sound rude and impolite, even though I am not the person she is looking for. She could have said something like "No, the best way is to contact this number and will be faster" What she said to me, I found it suspicious, and now I am reading all this message from above, and now confirm that this is a scam number. This is just ridiculous.

Prank Call
This has caught our attention for a potential write-up, story should be out soon. On July 18, 2013 RBC security confirmed that this telephone number is no way connected to any of their regular automated telephone numbers. It appears to them that there is an operation going on that is impersonating their Bank, even when calling the number the answering device is identical to RBC's. which makes it appear and sound very legit,it is a definite Phishing scam...

Same thing with me...same amount, $2,000.00, same rudeness...only I don't use my RBC bank accounts so I knew they were a scam. Nevertheless, they kept calling and insisting. I confirmed with Royal Bank that this is a scam. Truly, they have no SOUL to do such a thing!

Prank Call
I have received this call from "RBC" several times over the past three weeks. At first it was a computerized call, during the day, that I was to call back RBC at this number urgently. I called Royal Bank's legitimate 1-800 number only to find out that this is a big scam. I have since been harassed each evening, two times on some evenings, with me trying to 'fool them at their own game'...silly.  I've given them the local police number to call me back. I've told them I know this is a scam. I've told them to 'f' off....and I have never in my life told anyone to do that. I am so frustrated that I cannot answer my phone without the thought that 'they' may be on the other end AGAIN. The only thing I can think of doing now is simply leaving the phone off the hook and walking away, as maybe the anger and frustration I have had is fueling the sickness on the other end. I'm hoping that no response but a blank line that ties up their time will eventually cause them to move on.
Slow learner! I will not give the people on the other end the satisfaction of your knowledge that this is a prank call anymore....just silence.

I was just left a message from this phone number at work.  I called royal bank to see if this was actually a legitimate royal bank # prior to calling it (as I did not want to give out personal information to just anyone)....and in fact this is NOT a royal bank phone number (according to the customer service rep that I spoke to at royal bank).
